Apps is absolutely worthless. With my hydro4 I just power it on via power button on the battery and press the play button. To get it out of the pool I use a pool pole to grab the floating battery and pull it towards me. That manual mode works but the point of the app is to change cleaning modes or control the bit from the app. So drive it towards you or change to just clean the floor or extend to 3hrs cleaning/etc. literally none of that works. This app is a joke. My entire backyard and pool are blanketed in WiFi and I can be on top of the bot for Bluetooth. Bluetooth just constantly disconnects and the cloud functionality seems to lag updates by a few minutes to hours. Buy the hydro4, it’s great for the price. My previous bot was a dolphin premier (overpriced garbage). That being said this app gets 1 star. I would give 0 if I could. ### 1/5 — Bug !! *2026-05-02* Since last update, the app is constantly showing this alert from robot to open the app blocking my phone, I cannot do anything, and the app is not telling me why I need to open the app. Also my robot is stopping for no reason. Make sure you’re using this with the correct Hydro Pool Robot. 4 stars because Wi-Fi connection is need to control bot too ### 3/5 — Not perfect, but useful *2026-06-18* The app is imperfect, and the pairing with my Hydro 4, for which I have both battery and power cable capabilities, was tricky but I got it done. The Bluetooth works when on battery, but recharging is a nuisance. So I use the power cable almost exclusively. I have the control box programmed to our home wifi and mounted on a wall near the pool and have Alexa turn the power on at 9:15 and off at 11:45 each morning. And the robot is programmed to run from 9:30 to 11:30 am daily. And it works GREAT! Long distance connection to the system is possible, though I haven’t felt a need to run the system remotely when we’re away hundreds of miles traveling. I simply have someone come and dump and clean the filter basket every 2-3 days. By the way, buying a second filter basket so you can just swap a dirty basket for the clean one makes the filter basket exchange/cleaning routine a breeze. All in all, my Hydro 4 is terrific! ### 2/5 — Hydro 4se not connecting *2026-06-20* We cannot use our hydro 4se. It shows connected on phone but vacuum keeps blinking. I need to vacuum my pool.
