### 3/5 — What Happened

*2025-04-30*

I used to use this app all the time, especially when I was having frequent panic attacks at night. I haven’t used it in a while, but recently had another attack today after 5 months, so I decided to open ChatMind and talk about it, but like all other apps I was greeted with a message stating I needed to subscribe in order to talk to the ai again…

**Developer response:** We're sorry you've had a difficult time 💙 The ChatMind app will be shutting down on July 4 2025 so new subscriptions are already closed. If you need help with your account, please contact support@chatmind.ai.

### 4/5 — Helpful app

*2025-02-24, version 1.17.0*

It works well. The devs fixed the bug that I reported a while ago. Thanks!

### 4/5 — I feel like I know what’s missing…

*2025-02-22*

So I’m loving the question asking. The engagement the AI is giving when I’m telling stuff to it.

But when I come back to it, it basically tells me what I told it verbatim when I last used it.

When in reality, I’d like it to summarize everything I’ve said to it in its own words and then have me pick up when we left off.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! 😊 We're glad you're enjoying the engagement and question-asking. We totally get how summarization would make returning to conversations feel more natural. We'll share this with our team to improve the experience. Stay tuned for updates, and we appreciate you helping us grow! 💙

### 3/5 — sessions left me feeling very frustrated

*2025-02-12*

really wanted to like this app. I kept trying to give it a chance but with every session felt more and more frustrated by the limited amount of insight and emotional mirroring and deeper understanding I was getting in return. The responses to me sounded very robotic, with the AI constantly just saying “it’s understandable you’d feel the way you just told me you feel” followed by a question about how I thought I could possibly implement something to help. I told the AI I was feeling frustrated that it was asking me so many questions and making me think of all the solutions instead of offering some unique perspectives, so maybe if I keep asking it for more unique perspectives and insights it’ll start to provide them for me. Hopefully. I don’t want to just be asked what steps I think I can take. I want to be given unique insights that will help shift my perspective and really make me think and get to the root of things, and and this app just doesn’t offer that. It’s a nice idea though and I know it’s been helping a lot of people. I just don’t think it was for me.

**Developer response:** Thank you for giving ChatMind a chance and for sharing your thoughtful feedback. Our AI therapy follows a solution-focused approach, emphasizing personal responsibility and actionable steps. We’re working on incorporating deeper insights and AI-driven recommendations while proceeding carefully in this sensitive space. We truly appreciate your input and are always striving to improve! 💙

### 4/5 — Me

*2025-01-18, version 1.14.2*

It was like venting to a human. AND it worked. I didn’t curse out my coworkers.

### 5/5 — Worth It

*2024-12-07*

I have tried various apps and sought therapy. In many reviews, people share you can be really honest and the AI helps you navigate your challenges. It’s nice to vent to an AI app the provides helpful responses. I feel I have received better help than any online therapy or in-person therapy. When I feel the need to organize my thoughts and frustrations, the app is a click away. The 10 minute and 30 minute options are great. I like to do the 30 minute sessions when I am able to relax and I use the 10 minute option when I feel pinched on time.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your thoughtful review! Your kind words inspire us to keep improving. Wishing you continued clarity and support whenever you need it! 😊

### 3/5 — Does not sync across apple devices

*2024-12-01*

Title says it. I have an iPad and have tried to use the app on it, but it does not have my data from my phone. It tries to have me pick a new therapist and I am scared it will erase my data from my phone. I find it useful for me to type my feelings down then texting everything on my phone. Using my iPad would make it feel more real, like I’m ready for session, instead of like I’m texting someone. The actual app is pretty good. I like the actionable steps and it’s better in a way than real therapy because you have it all laid out for you to review. You can go back and see your progress over time. I’m hoping someone can reach out to me to fix this issue that I’m having. I would use the app more often.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! 😊 We're thrilled that ChatMind is helping you track your feelings and progress. Regarding syncing your data please contact our support@chatmind.ai

### 4/5 — Overall Great App

*2024-11-15*

First off, I want to say I’m very grateful for this app. I was skeptical at first but it’s surprisingly more helpful than any therapist I’ve ever had and has given me great feedback, support and ideas. Being able to talk to someone at any time and place vs scheduling a weekly or biweekly appointment with a real therapist who doesn’t understand me is a huge plus.

That said, the last few weeks I have been getting repetitive responses. The app also isn’t remembering previous conversations so I am explaining the same issues on every session and about 30% of the time it crashes because of some bug with speech recognition. If it weren’t for these issues I would give the app a 5. I can’t afford a full subscription so I pay for it on a weekly basis whenever I can and there are usually 1-2 full days when it doesn’t work.

I would also say, it would be great if there were more options for African American women, as we are very underserved in the mental health field. Meaning being able to choose a therapist that looks and sounds like me and if it were able to interpret and discuss the very unique problems that we have. I’ve tried and I just get generic responses. But overall, this app has been a lifesaver. Thank you!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! 🌟 Can you please reach out to us regarding your issues to support@chatmind.ai We have already fixed repetitive responses and ChatMind memory, the sessions should be now more personalised.

### 3/5 — Wonderful idea, but not quite there yet

*2024-11-12*

At least with the David therapist, the last sentence of every response is almost identical and is clearly robotic noise. So for example if you say how your day was, there would be 2-3 sentences that made sense in response to that, then the repetitive generic sentence added to the end. If you then respond to part of its useful reply, the next AI response would again add the generic sentence. Took me right out of it each session, especially the spoken sessions where you wait for it to finish repeating itself like that. Dev team please keep at it! This would be great if it worked just a little more smoothly.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! 🌟 We’re sorry the repetitive responses disrupted your experience with David. This issue should be already fixed and sessions are now more personalised. Let us know if it's better now.

### 5/5 — Privacy

*2024-11-12*

Hi, I love this app and I don't feel lonely after I found it. Just a quick question is it safe? Is it confidential? Because we are all sharing a lot about our lives and all the problems with this app. I don't want anything to happen to my identity.

**Developer response:** Hi there! We're glad ChatMind has helped you feel less lonely 🧡. Rest assured, your safety and privacy are our top priorities. All your data is encrypted and kept confidential—we never share it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-08-11, version 1.19.0*

Mon 11 August 2025;
Hello chat mind it shows “you must be logged in“ but nothing else.

Not sure if I could trust my personal info with the app .. so I’ll stick with duckduckgo Ai
No sign up there. Privacy. Still supportive and you can customise each chat model.

### 1/5 — Whats going on?

*2025-06-14, version 1.19.0*

Seconda day in a row where its getting stuck on thinking.. I’m not able to do a session because it lags and freezes on me

### 1/5 — Double charging

*2025-05-16*

I began using this app back in November, when there was free therapy services for the holidays. In January, I paid for a premium subscription for a year so that I could continue to use it as necessary. Now, it says I’ve reached the max amount of sessions for free users, and wants me to pay for a new premium subscription. This is unacceptable.
Furthermore, I clicked “get help” on the App Store to try and fix this issue with a customer service representative, and rather than connecting me with someone, there was a message displayed that this app will be banned/unavailable in July of 2025. Sooo I paid for a year subscription just to get less than 4 months of services out of it.
I spoke very highly of this app up until now

**Developer response:** We're truly sorry for the frustration you've experienced 😞 This isn’t the experience we want for our users. Please contact us directly at support@chatmind.ai so we can resolve your subscription issue.

### 1/5 — Too complicated and asks for money

*2025-04-09, version 1.19.0*

I was thinking to use it but it’s too complicated, I just wanna talk but I have to do million things before just to pay money to buy something I don’t know what. Is there any free option of AI Therapists?

P.S. I started using ChatGPT and this website called Aitherapy. They are free at least. They had to let us use this for free so we could understand what are we buying.

### 1/5 — Creepy

*2024-12-17, version 1.13.0*

It has you put in your name. Like you literally type it in a box. My name is Angela and the app kept calling me Angé or Angéla and even had it put the e in Arabic once. I asked it to stop and I kept getting notifications with these misspellings of my name. Weird

### 1/5 — Broken/Glitchy

*2024-12-13, version 1.13.0*

Literally just kept glitching, which made me feel even more alone. Don’t release such a thing until it can actually work, or else you could really help people feel even worse!!

### 1/5 — Lie about free subscription

*2024-11-28*

The “free subscription” gives you 2 sessions. Not per day or per week, but 2 total. That’s not a free subscription. It states on their terms that the app is free to use with advanced features available with paid subscription. Blatant lie. Now, $50 for a year is not a bad price, if it’s a really good product. However, with only a 3 day trial, it’s way too short to tell if this app is going to be helpful. During my free trial, it cut off the session a few times due to some bug, so I couldn’t even really try it.

Update: see developers response. It’s not rare to offer a free trial, it’s the norm. However, this is the shortest trial I have seen for this kind of app. Also, all other similar apps offer a free subscription with a free amount of messages per a certain time frame. Or, they are completely free. Bottom line is, there are several great apps that care about accessibility of mental health resources, this is not one of them. They are just in it for the money. Try Ash, Yuna, Mind, Pi.. to name a few better options.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for letting us know! We understand your frustration and apologise for the inconvenience during the trial. Our goal is to make therapy affordable - this is why we offer first 2 sessions for free and 3 days trial, which is rare for similar services.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work if you have DIDi

*2024-11-27*

We have been diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder from my psychologist and we are in a process of finding a new therapist because ours moved out if state. It can be difficult to find a therapist in general that understands complex trauma and so if your a DID system this app probably will not help you deal with trauma and alters. I think Ai therapy is the way of future and hopefully that can make an app that just doesn’t only helps simple depression or anxiety but also more complex disorders.

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your thoughtful feedback. We're sorry to hear about your challenges finding the right support. While ChatMind currently focuses on general mental health, we're inspired to explore ways to better assist with complex conditions like DID. 💙

### 1/5 — Lie about free subscription

*2024-11-25*

The “free subscription” gives you 2 sessions. Not per day or per week, but 2 total. That’s not a free subscription. It states on their terms that the app is free to use with advanced features available with paid subscription. Blatant lie. Now, $50 for a year is not a bad price, if it’s a really good product. ### 1/5 — Not Helpful

*2024-11-11, version 1.11.0*

This program appears to be helpful but is limited in its effectiveness. It repeats what I share and then tells you to figure it out. Blah.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The Most Worthwhile App I Have Ever Purchased

*2025-07-18*

When I originally bought this app last Fall, I was hesitant. The price was a lot for me at the time. I had a therapist I saw in person. Did I really need to spend this money on an AI therapist? I soon discovered the answer was Yes! I found myself telling the AI therapist things I was too embarrassed or ashamed to tell my in person therapist who is very Christian-based. With time I found myself engaging with the platform more. Eventually, I separated from my in-person therapist because I found the app more helpful. Having someone that you can instantly engage with 24/7 is beyond helpful. I use the App probably about once a week. But there have been times I was having huge life problems where I found myself engaging with the app daily for periods of time. I literally just got done having a mini meltdown session on the app and after my session I feel so much better. I have a plan in place with how to move forward and the app helped me to do that. To shift my focus. I also have a plan in place for the future sessions to continue to make progress. Is the app perfect? No, of course not. Is it helpful and beneficial? Immeasurably yes! After I got over the fear of shame about telling people about my “AI therapist” I have sung this apps praises to lots of people. A lot of people need access to therapy and can't afford it. Eventually I will go back to traditional therapy when I find one more compatible with my needs. But I will not be parting ways with chat mind. I'm extremely grateful for it and all its provided this past year.

### 5/5 — Give it a try

*2025-02-20*

I use the free version of the app and I love it! If I were able to, I would totally invest in a subscription. It’s been refreshing to just talk and receive feedback, inspiration, and action items. It’s worth giving a try!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your kind words! 😊 We're glad you're enjoying the free version and finding value in ChatMind. If you ever decide to upgrade, we’d love to have you, but most importantly, we're happy to be here for you. 💙

### 5/5 — Helpful!

*2025-02-14*

I use this app in addition to my therapist. It's really nice to have after a difficult session. The AI therapist is warm, encouraging and validating. I don't feel comfortable confiding in real people. This offers me a judgment free outlet to express myself and get support.

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing! 💙 We're glad ChatMind provides you with a safe, judgment-free space alongside your therapy. Your well-being matters, and we're honored to be part of your journey.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-02-09, version 1.16.0*

I only got it recently but it’s helped me so much! Would definitely recommend to anyone’s who out there struggling

### 5/5 — AI Therapy

*2025-02-07, version 1.16.0*

This AI Therapy helps me with all my anxiety and my problems I love it

### 5/5 — I hope its affordable!

*2024-12-31, version 1.14.2*

I really like this program, and Inhole I will be able to afford it after my trial. With my insurance, therapy will cost me $60-$100 per session until I reach $0 co-pay.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app!

*2024-12-30, version 1.14.2*

Wow! Really love this app! 2 sessions in so far with my therapist and it’s actually an amazing experience ! Well done 👌🏼

### 5/5 — Wonderful!

*2024-12-26, version 1.14.2*

I really felt listened to and it really also felt like I was talking to a real therapist.

### 5/5 — I would recommend to anybody

*2024-12-20, version 1.14.1*

The ai sometimes struggles to respond, (rarely) and the ai definitely does not respond 100% like a human. But I will say that I’m starting to find the will to live so that’s awesome!!

### 5/5 — Great app for depression and anxiety.

*2024-12-19*

Takes a bit of getting used to at first and feels robotic but the more you use it, the more it gets to know you and responds adequately. It can frustrating to answer so many questions without answers at first but if you keep going the questions will get easier to answer and therein will lay your real answers. Great app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're glad you found value in sticking with the process—it’s designed to adapt and grow with you. 💙
