## What is Chawan?

Chawan is a matcha companion for brewing, logging, and keeping a tin journal. Time your whisk, watch your caffeine curve, and browse guides and 26 recipes.

BREW
Pick a style: usucha, koicha, hot latte, iced latte, or a matcha shot. Chawan times each step, sift, water, whisk, serve, with sound and haptics along the way. A Live Activity keeps the timer visible on your Lock Screen. Finishing a brew logs a serving on its own.

JOURNAL
Keep a record of every tin: brand, grade, origin, price, and grams left. Rate what you drink, tag the flavor, and get a reminder when a tin is running low. Chawan works out cost per serving so you know what you're actually spending.

LEARN
Eight guides cover grades, storage, water temperature, and how to buy matcha without getting scammed. Twenty-six recipes cover lattes, iced drinks, and a few baking ideas, written in plain text with no stock photos.

TODAY
A caffeine and L-theanine curve shows what's in your system right now, built from the servings you've logged. Log coffee, espresso, or tea alongside matcha and the curve counts them too. Caffeine numbers are estimates based on published averages, not a lab measurement of what you drank.

WATCH AND WIDGETS
A watchOS app runs the brew timer on your wrist with haptic steps. Widgets show today's servings and your caffeine curve on the Home Screen and Lock Screen. A Control Center button starts your default brew.

SYNC
Tins, brews, and journal entries sync over your own iCloud account. There's no sign-up and no login screen.

Chawan is free to use: the brew timer, two tins, six recipes, the Today curve, and iCloud sync all come at no cost. Chawan Pro is a one-time purchase of $4.99.
