### 2/5 — Website way better on mobile

*2026-06-14, version 5.28*

This app sucks. The UI is big and clunky and takes more taps than just using the website on mobile. I was expecting a much better mobile experience, but I will be using the website 100%. You can view only four films icons any given time and nothing is intuitive. Even the login is buried five options deep totally hidden. Once you find a film, you want to save there are multiple steps to save it and set a price alert in your eye has to dart all over the place to find the hidden thing you’re supposed to do. Just use the website. It’s so much better.

### 3/5 — Worth it for sales

*2026-06-07, version 5.28*

It’s a great app for getting notified when stuff on your wishlist goes on sale! But I’ve noticed that some shows that are on sale don’t appear in the “TV Shows on Sale” section, I find out when I go on the Apple TV app..

### 4/5 — Daily user but…

*2026-03-08, version 5.26*

Long time user of this app but I just can’t take the slide down card navigation anymore. It’s entirely too cumbersome and if you find yourself several layers deep, it takes forever to get out of it. They need to go back to a simple page navigation with arrows and/or swipes to go back or forward.

### 2/5 — Looks like a great idea!

*2026-02-11, version 5.25*

Pity there is no NZ store support.

### 5/5 — Thanks for this software.

*2026-02-04, version 5.25*

Helps me alot

### 3/5 — not up to date

*2026-01-28, version 5.25*

Bought a bundle i had wishlisted for 14.99 the other night while browsing apple tv. But the price in cheap chart still show 34.99. Oh well, at least the historic price helped me identify a sale.

### 5/5 — Makes Growing Your Digital Library a Breeze

*2026-01-21, version 5.25*

The design and utility of this app is truly inspired. Amazing work and movie lovers who are interested in (digitally) owning their favorite films or hard to find films should use it.

### 5/5 — tv

*2026-01-21, version 5.25*

The app is great on every device except tv: I wish account log-in was implemented so that I can access my Wish List and — if I make a purchase — jump right into the purchased item.

Also, since the last major tvOS 18 update (and now on tvOS 26), the app preview no longer appears if you have the CheapCharts app on the “top shelf” of the home screen. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon.

### 5/5 — Would pay for this app if I could. Fantastic app.

*2025-12-21, version 5.24*

Updated 21/12/25. This app has saved me lots of money. Wish I could pay for it, full stop. Merry Christmas !

### 1/5 — Stuck

*2025-12-19, version 5.24*

Either stuck loading or slow to load. Extremely slow for some reason

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — So-so service… Garbage App

*2026-08-21, version 5.29*

Had my hopes up when the interface seemed shinier than the clunky website, but that got dull quickly. FIRST, it’s AppleTV (still called iTunes) ONLY, unlike the website which also includes Amazon Prime (sort of), Fandango (still called Vudu years after name change) and the 3 movies available on Google Play. SECOND, it spams every price change to your list, meaning you’ll see upward of 83 unwanted movies red-pipped to your alert list every day. That’s also 83 Push Notifications for random movies, if you turned notifications on. Plus, it’s a tedious, manual, chorded, slide-to-find-the-button delete process for EVERY SINGLE UNWANTED FILM! How about some checkboxes to mass delete? Better yet, just dial down the needy-millennial spam. Simply let me know when what I want is on sale and drop the cyberstalking. You don’t have the algorithms to predict what I might like (because you’re not even close). THIRD, and this applies to the website, too, just because I mark it Purchased doesn’t mean I purchased it today! It’s nearly useless metadata, especially if you bury the editing AND make it exclusive to your AppleTV-only app! Maybe I bought something on UltraViolet that got picked up by Vudu and ported by MoviesAnywhere… that movie was purchased a decade ago not today! I’m just flagging it as already in my library. FOURTH, still conflates RENTAL prices with purchase prices, so chances are that drop from 29.99 to 3.99 will be a letdown. FIFTH, some alerts/notifications/e-mails are for UNAVAILABLE titles: rental only, available through a third-party subscription (title not for purchase), unavailable in your area, or simply unavailable for streaming anywhere as confirmed by a simple internet search!

### 1/5 — Notifications are pointless

*2026-08-19, version 5.29*

Tapping on a notification should bring you directly to the listed item. It doesn’t. It just brings you to a list of items and they expect you to scroll through it and find the item yourself.

### 1/5 — No google, prime, or fandango

*2026-05-30, version 5.28*

The app doesn’t match their website

### 1/5 — Price mistakes!!!

*2026-03-19, version 5.26*

Every $4.99 movie I tried to purchase ended up being $9.99!!!

### 1/5 — 😡😡

*2026-03-11, version 5.26*

It is so bad

### 1/5 — My deals

*2026-02-27, version 5.26*

This section is no longer working properly

### 1/5 — Freezes on launch

*2026-02-24, version 5.26*

The app has had a bug forever and it does not go past the logo screen that shows during the launch.

### 1/5 — Purchasing a movie always seems a problem.

*2026-02-02, version 5.25*

Tells me I purchased “ The vow” where is it on my Apple TV

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-01-17, version 5.24*

Several times the app says there is a price change but when I tried shop price wasn’t changed. Same after another day. Then the items in question do have price change (~1 month later) but app didn’t notify me. Phone appears to drain battery faster and hotter.

### 1/5 — Buggy As Hell

*2025-12-21, version 5.24*

Unusable app. Searches bring up blank screens. Just use the website via your web browser. Does not work in mobile app form

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — AppleTV App

*2026-07-11, version 5.28*

Amazing app. It’s the only way I find movies to buy. My only complaint is the app for AppleTV. There’s no way to sign in so there’s no way utilize Watchlist, Custom Lists, etc.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2026-06-15, version 5.28*

Loving this app. Turn notifications ON!

### 5/5 — LOVE THIS SO MUCH. 7 months use. best price tips uncluded below

*2026-05-26, version 5.28*

Go for these prices most commoner and often unless you can wait for lesser and rarer costs: a movie can be $4.99 unless it's Disney or big name movies then it's $9.99 at best. A whole tv series or season probably $15 at lowest and $70 at most based on how many episodes you get. I Made a wishlist of everything I'd like to have on apple tv from a lifetime of tv through each movie I looked in relateds etc until I had a good long list. Now I can see what it's price history has been. Put bundles on your list if there are And ALSO anything inside those bundles you want in case one sales for better individually. Also double check any of your must haves prices in apple because sometimes in the actual store it'll be cheaper and more updated. 100/100 just be careful because you'll want to spend more and more. If you're an anime fan double check what episodes and seasons you get before a purchase. usually cheapcharts is correct like if CC says part 17 try to buy part 17 on apple but double check where those episodes are according to apples SEASONS going by title of episodes etc. I did this with Naruto Shippuden and it was perfectly listed. Like season 6 on apple could mean season 7 you're buying but season 6 is like part 5 on CHEAPCHARTS. When I listed my wishlist I made 3 custom lists 1. YES 2. Maybe 3. no notif (aka don't notify me of sales here) after a few months you'll have finished your list almost like I'm close to. it feels so good not having to change platforms just pop out and into a new show love this.

### 5/5 — Love this app!! ❤️❤️

*2026-04-19, version 5.27*

This app is amazing for keeping up with sales on movies and shows!! I love that you can have notifications sent to your phone too! Great app!!

### 5/5 — Best Movie App!

*2026-04-01, version 5.26*

This is a must for all digital media collectors! The app is so easy to use and makes catching deals simple! I’ve been using it for years and I recommend it to everyone!

### 5/5 — More filters

*2026-03-27, version 5.26*

Please add more filters to hide things I am not interested in, like anime for example, please add in an anime category so I can deselect it and not have to see all the predatory pedo garbage slop like "you can't be in a romcom with your childhood friends" and all the other garbage along those lines. Other than that no complaints been using cheapcharts for almost 5 years now!

### 5/5 — Use Almost Everyday

*2026-02-26, version 5.26*

Before I purchase anything on Apple, I always check this app first to find the best deals on movies and TV shows—especially titles that have gone on significant sale. It shows the lowest price an item has ever been and when it hit that price, which helps me decide the best time to buy. The app updates frequently, so I know I’m getting accurate information. I never make a purchase without checking here first. For that alone, it earns 5 stars from me.

### 5/5 — Love this app!! ❤️❤️
