If you purchase travel insurance to protect your flight, they do not clearly explain that the insurance fee is non-refundable, even if you cancel within the first 24 hours. This information should be much more transparent before customers complete their purchase. In addition, if you cancel your flight on the day of departure, even if you do so several hours before the flight, you will not receive a refund for the insurance. What’s even more frustrating is that, although you paid for travel insurance to protect yourself in case of cancellations due to circumstances beyond your control, in many cases the policy does not apply. As a result, you end up losing both the money you paid for the insurance and the protection you thought you were purchasing. In my opinion, the insurance terms and limitations are not explained clearly enough, which can easily mislead customers into believing they are buying much broader protection than what is actually provided. For that reason, I would never purchase CheapTickets’ travel insurance again, and I strongly recommend reading all the terms and conditions carefully before buying it. ### 2/5 — Be careful *2026-01-04, version 2025.50* I got flights and hotel with CheapTickets.com. The airfare was reasonable and the hotel was great. Don’t get anything else from them. I got a minivan ride that didn’t show up. I tried to contact them by phone before the trip. I tried to email them. They didn’t respond. Then the minivan provider didn’t show up. I was stuck at the airport for an hour. I had to rent a car. When I tried to get a refund, the CheapTickets rep sided with the no show provider. Even though I had email evidence that the provider didn’t reply. Offered me a $50 voucher for my next vacation, then they offered a $100 voucher. If you are coming to Rome, this is a excellent location by the river and the center of all the shopping and land marks. The hotel was air conditioned, with clean, comfortable rooms and facilities, just 5 minutes walking to shopping, restaurants, and the Omonia Station metro. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous and delicious, with a variety of foods. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and made my stay in Athens enjoyable.
