They will extort you for money any way they can and they will, do not use this service specially if you are foreign, they have developed the perfect tactics to make you pay fees

I have been fined a ridiculous amount of money for because I apparently drove the scooter in a zone where I wasn’t supposed to. There were no signs for this and absolutely no way of knowing until afterwards. When speaking to customer service I was met with a very rude and completely useless customer service rep. Do not use!!!

The address verification takes a very long time and fails. Multiple times when trying to book a scooter. Finally, the scanning process does not work - useless service with no success of getting a scooter.

Do not use this app, they consitently charge more than they should and this can amount to multiple hundred euros, as it has been the case for me. When addressing the concern, nothing is done to help you. To summarise, scam is part of there business plan, which obvioulsy leads to bad customer experience.

Check is a complete scam.
They charged me €70 for parking outside the zone — fair enough, I paid.
But then they slapped another €150 charge for a 20-minute ride with no proper explanation.
Customer service is useless — just sending robotic replies and refusing to solve anything.

On top of that, the scooter I rented was not even technically safe:
The left kickstand (support bracket) had a broken spring, and it stayed half-open during the entire ride.
This could have easily caused an accident.

It’s clear they are exploiting users with hidden costs and neglecting basic vehicle maintenance.
Be smart — avoid Check unless you want to risk your safety and get scammed.

C’est les plus gros voleurs que j’ai jamais vu! Faites attention lorsque vous voulez démarrer une course ils vous demandent un pré paiement de 200€. Ils ne les rendront jamais et les convertiront en crédit sur votre compte sans pouvoir les utiliser. Le service client est un simple chatbot qui sapelle Sam et qui ne répond jamais aux questions!! Je ne sais même pas comment cette entreprise n’est pas encore à la justice!

For foreign users the app is unusably buggy. The license verification keeps you in a loop until you restart the app. Then, you can’t easily add payment details!

Είμαστε από άλλη χώρα και δεν γνωρίζουμε την νοοτροπία σας! Η εφαρμογή ζητάει 200€ για εγγύηση κ ποσό ανάλογα με το πόση ώρα θα κρατήσουμε το αμάξι. Για παράδειγμα για εμάς έγινε δέσμευση 200,00€ κ το αμάξι για 24 ώρες κόστιζε 90.00€. Μου πιστώσανε στην εφαρμογή 110.00 για μελλοντική μου ενοικίαση …. Όμως σαν τουρίστας που είμαι δεν ξέρω αν πάω ξανά στο ίδιο μέρος για να εξαργυρώσω τα 110.00€. Άρα τα έχασα αφού δεν γίνεται εξαργύρωση σε άλλη χώρα.

I would never recommend this app to anyone. First of all the scooters are the most dirty I ever experienced, but they are also stealers that charge you more than you owe. 

Never using those services again, don’t do it too it’s a waste of time and money.

Worst experience ever. In order to be able to book a car the app force to do a "pre-payment" of 200€ which after is no reimbursed... 
now, after the 10€ trip, I have to spend the 190€ resting when I never use / need car/scooter.

Ik heb een boete gekregen 3 dagen nadat ik de scooter had gebruikt, voor zogezegd fout parkeren. Geen foto, geen beschrijving, geen originele boete (tot hierom meerdere keren gevraagd werd) account niet meer actief zodat je niks kan terugzien. Dit lijkt meer op scam dan iets anders.

Warning: I was charged through my PayPal account even though I had already removed PayPal from my payment methods and added a different card. This suggests that payment details may still be stored and used even after you delete them. This is concerning and something users should be aware of. Please be careful and double-check your payment settings.

I am very dissatisfied with Check’s service. The management fees are already high, and on top of that they impose additional “fines” based on highly questionable automated systems.

I was charged €75 for allegedly smoking in a car, based solely on a particle detection report (PM2.5). This system does not prove that anyone actually smoked, does not identify the person involved, and does not rule out other very common causes such as environmental pollution. In a city like Amsterdam, where air pollution from traffic is significant, this type of detection is extremely unreliable.

There was no physical inspection of the vehicle, no human review, no residue, and no smell verification — just an automated assumption with financial consequences.

This feels disproportionate, opaque, and unfair to customers. A service that relies on ambiguous data to impose extra charges should seriously reconsider its practices. I would not recommend this company.
