# Check'd 3.2.3: The Wizard Finally Read the Answer Sheet

Once upon a patch note, in the quiet village of **3.2.3**, someone finally caught the Daily Puzzle wizard cheating.

It turns out the hint wizard had been secretly consulting his *own* chess engine instead of, you know, the actual puzzle solution. So when you asked for a hint, he'd wander off, think very hard, and come back with a move that was *technically* good chess — just not the move the puzzle expected. Imagine asking a GPS for directions and it says "well, *I'd* go via the highway." Helpful? Debatable. Correct? Absolutely not.

**The hints now actually point to the real solution.**

More precisely:
- **Hint 1**: The correct puzzle piece lights up. The one you're supposed to move. From the actual solution. Not the engine's opinion.
- **Hint 2**: The destination square is revealed too — so you know where it needs to go.

And when the engine plays a response move after you deviate from the puzzle line? The hint wizard now correctly locks you out with a friendly "reset first" message, instead of confidently hinting at a completely wrong path.

**Also fixed:**
- The second hint on the same position used to show the same thing as the first. Now it correctly reveals the destination square.
- Hints no longer silently do nothing when the engine couldn't find a best move in time. They're instant now — no async engine call, no loading spinner, no drama.

Build **149** ships quietly, having done the sensible thing: looked up the answer.

The end. Until the next blunder.
