The Vivino or cheese - no you are miles away. I registered, and tried to sign in. Apparently with the wrong password! Now I can’t change even though I know it’s right. No automatic completion of the form etc. a lousy use experience. I hope the dragon who invested in it sorts it out. It’s terrible. ### 1/5 — Nothing Like Vivino *2024-02-04* We love trying new cheeses and just like wine, it depends a lot on the maker. This app will only tell you what type of cheese it is. Not the brand. We’ve had spectacular cheddars and then there’s the basic grocery store brand. We were hoping for an app that would catalog brands, offer rating options and personal notes…well like Vivino as advertised in the description. Nope. Took one photo and it told me it was cheddar. Well no kidding! I got that off the label when I bought it. Deleting app now. ### 1/5 — :( *2024-02-02, version 0.1.0* It didn’t know any of the cheese I searched and then wouldn’t let me add them. ### 1/5 — it doesn’t work at all *2023-03-02* if i could give it 0 stars i would. i kept telling me all kinds of cheese were bleu cheese and swiss and i know they are not. it couldn’t even identify mozzarella?? was very disappointed **Developer response:** Hey man, It uses machine learning so it has to try and learn as much as it can. The photo makes a difference & light, too. If it is unsure it guesses - If you correct the machine learning, it will learn and improve each and every time. I'm sorry your experience wasn't positive. I built this just myself because I love cheese. I have collected over 200k images of cheese so far but rely massively on submissions from people like you to help the machine learning learn. ### 1/5 — So far hasn’t got one right *2022-10-22, version 0.1.0* I was really excited by this app and conceptually it’s awesome however it’s knowledge of cheese is very poor. I understand it’s still learning however when the cheese isn’t recognized you should be able to match your photo to the name of the cheese but is used the old phone of the cheese so now it’s confused with a photo of rochebaron named godminster truffle vintage cheddar! Great idea but needs a lot of work. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2022-04-30* Can’t recognize cheese and you can go back and add manually to keep track of your favorites for later. Need a complete redo of app **Developer response:** The way the machine learning works is that it gets better with more images of those cheeses as it learns. With some we have thousands of images, with other less eaten cheeses, we have fewer images, so if it doesn't recognise it, simply correct the name and it will learn and get better! Fail. **Developer response:** I am unsure if this was a one off occurrence as we have had many sign ups and using location field without issue. If you're still having this issue, please let me know at info@cheezus.co and I'll make sure I help get you sorted. ### 2/5 — Good idea poorly executed *2024-12-30, version 0.1.0* It feels like the app is built by people who like cheese but have no idea how to build an app. I can see how the cheese lover might have said they want to be able to do x y and z in the app, but it’s not executed well at all. I wish it were the Vivino of cheese, but so far it’s just a concept that doesn’t live up to the claim ## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Really interesting idea *2024-02-01* Love the concept behind this app and its pretty cool. Few questions: Would LOVE a way to save to favorites and rate cheese / make notes. I see the favorites area but can’t figure out how to use it. I might be dense her but not seeing a way. Would love to add cheese into here too. I purchased a lot of Murray’s cheese and would love to have a personal cheese area I could upload images too and rate myself.
