This game lacks playable substance and therefore has been misnamed. “Chef quiz”or “tap a chef”would have been more appropriate. It’s predecessor had more thought put into it. It had a story and actual food battles with competing chefs. You needed the right ingredients, the right recipe for the location and region you are competing in. I especially thought the annual cheffy award ceremonies were very cleverly integrated into the story and game play. There’s more going on in the predecessor. There’s more challenge. This is bland and dry. Like I said a functioning companion app with a brain tease, but not much of a game. ### 3/5 — A little too difficult, some bugs that need fixing, and not incredibly user friendly *2019-01-13, version 1.1.2* About the difficulty: -yes there’s an online community for help but the quizzes are way too difficult to do without looking online, which takes away from the fun of figuring out the answers yourself -there aren’t a lot of quests to keep me motivated to play Some bugs that need fixing: -searching for recipes page needs fixing. When I click on the “?” button to pull up a list of categories, the bottom ones can’t be clicked on. Also, if I decide that I don’t want to click on a category after opening the page, there’s no back button so the page is left open obstructing my view of my recipes. Not super user friendly: -searching for recipes is not easy. The categories are given by the type of dish, but since the goal is to send chefs to different areas, I want to search by the country of origin for my recipes. The recipe search engine isn’t configured to do that. With all that said, I was a really big fan of the original chef wars game so I’m still giving this a solid 3. There is nothing left to do, excluding sending chefs to journey. I wish there were more quizes or other ways to gain EXP. Also, there is a bug which is a text on top of each other. It’s an awesome transitional game into their original ChefWars game where there’s limited ingredients and no real guide other than a percentage for possibility and high risk in wasting ingredients. The quizzes are fun and challenging. I wish there was a way to categorize the recipes by country when sending the chefs on their travel instead of by type. Every time I open the app, it asks me to log in to my Apple account, which I don’t quite understand since I’m already logged in on my phone. Looking forward to seeing more updates!
