## What is Chemancy?

Deep in the rock, under fog and runes, lies the order of the elements. It is waiting for someone to wake it.

Chemancy turns chemistry into an adventure. Four games, one rock, not a single worksheet. You set elements until the periodic table grows out of the cave wall. You push atoms together until they become water, ammonia, sulfuric acid. You bring a balance to rest with an equation lying on it. And in the lab you mix whatever you like, just to see what happens.

You learned it anyway. That is the trick.

WAKE THE PERIODIC TABLE
Every element to its place, one after another. What you set is struck into the rock and stays there. Play a perfect round and the rock breaks open — behind it lies a cave only the best will ever see.

BUILD MOLECULES
Push the atoms until they find each other. 168 compounds are waiting to be discovered, and each one tells you what it is, where it occurs and why the world needs it.

MASTER THE REACTIONS
An equation rests on a glowing balance beam, and the beam tips towards the heavier side. Find the right numbers and it hangs level — then it burns through. 112 equations, from the hydrogen pop test to titration.

ENTER THE LAB
No task, no rules, no end. Pull atoms out of the periodic table into the pit, add a spark, some heat or light, and watch what forms.

Then let water in — from there it is a different chemistry. Acids break into their ions, alkali metals react with it, salts dissolve. Boil the water away and they crystallise again. 178 reactions are waiting to be found, and not one of them is set as a task anywhere.

When you get stuck, the shelf shows the way: for every substance it tells you how it really forms in your lab — not the textbook synthesis, but the one that works here.

PROOF OF YOUR MASTERY
Place all 118 elements correctly and the system wakes one last time: lightning strikes, light runs along every path until the whole rock glows. Then you receive a certificate — an image to share, carrying a code that proves it is real. Anyone who shows it has earned it.

And the colour stays: teal, violet or gold, depending on the difficulty, kept in the fog around the menu stone.

KNOWLEDGE THAT HOLDS
Behind the game sits a learning area that fears no exam. For all 118 elements the values that actually get asked, plus twelve colour views of the whole table. And profiles for all 168 compounds, open from the start.

Exam, degree or pure curiosity — it sticks here, because it was fun.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.0 — 2026-10-10

PSE Puzzle is now Chemancy — and one game has become four.

NEW: BUILD MOLECULES
A board full of atoms. Push them until they find each other, and what forms is a real substance. 168 compounds are waiting — water, ammonia, sulfuric acid, glucose. Every find opens a profile and tells you why the world needs it.

NEW: MASTER THE REACTIONS
An equation rests on a glowing balance beam. Too many atoms on one side and it tips. Find the right numbers and it hangs level — then it burns through. 112 equations across five packages and three levels, from school chemistry to redox.

NEW: THE LAB
No task, no rules, no end. Pull atoms into the pit, add a spark or some heat, and watch. Bonds form, break and form again.

Let water in and it gets serious: acids break into their ions, alkali metals react with it, salts dissolve — and crystallise again as soon as the water boils away. 178 reactions, from the hydrogen pop test to acetic acid.

NEW: THE SHELF, WITH INSTRUCTIONS
Every compound to look up, open from the start — and for each one, how it really forms in your lab. Not the textbook synthesis, but the one that works here.

NEW: NAME AND ICON
Chemancy, with a new app icon.

### 2.1 — 2026-08-16

The big one: a real learn mode — plus a bonus round, a real ending and a certificate you can share.

New: the learn mode
The game has grown into a genuine way to learn. Every one of the 118 elements now carries what an exam actually asks for: electron configuration, valence electrons, electronegativity, oxidation states, group and period, block. Alongside it a key fact that makes the element click in a single paragraph, and an "In the exam" section naming the questions it usually shows up in — detection reactions, ligand field theory, corrosion, whatever it happens to be.

And twelve colour views of the whole table: electronegativity, atomic radius, ionisation energy, electron affinity, melting point, density, oxidation states, metallic character, state of matter, block, radioactivity and year of discovery. Each with one sentence explaining the trend. Understand it first, then keep it through play.

New: the bonus round
Place all elements of the main table without a single mistake and the rock breaks open. Behind it lies a cave with the 28 lanthanides and actinides — the two rows that never fit into the table.

New: the ending
Complete all 118 and lightning strikes the centre of the grid. From there the light travels along the paths to every stone until the whole table glows. Then you get your certificate: a picture you can share, with a code that proves it is genuine. Nothing leaves your device unless you share it yourself.

New: colour means rank
Easy is teal, Normal is violet, N.E.R.D is gold. Finish all 118 and the particles around the menu stone keep that colour — for good.

Also new
• Placed elements now turn to stone, carved into the wall
• Music and sound throughout: the game board, the cave, every effect
• Credits for the musicians and sound artists
• iPad and Mac, with layouts made for the larger screen

Fixed
• Grid alignment in the bonus round on iPad
• Long translations no longer run off the menu stone on smaller iPhones
• A crash when two fingers grabbed the same atom

### 2.0.1 — 2026-08-09

Bug fix: On some devices, the fog, glow and soft transitions weren't displayed correctly. This is now fixed — the atmosphere looks the way it should again. Enjoy learning!

### 2.0 — 2026-08-06

After a long while, PTE Puzzle is back – rebuilt from the ground up.

We've reworked the entire game and brought it up to date for modern iPhones:

• A completely new look with a rune design, fog and atmosphere
• New loading screen
• Elements now appear with their own materialize animation
• Redesigned end-of-round screen with a clear results overview
• A special reward when you pull off a perfect game
• New pause feature – stop anytime and pick up right where you left off
• Your score history is now stored privately and offline on your device (with date, score and level) – no data collection, no tracking, no accounts
• Noticeably smoother and far more energy-efficient
• Runs on current iPhones and iOS versions

Enjoy learning – one element at a time. We'd love your feedback and ratings!

### 1.4 — 2017-03-30

- In level "easy" its now much easier to hit a target
- Some bugfixes
