Now this is an excellent app. To book train tickets, bus and metro. So simple to use. It shows available trains for the next 2hrs. UI is smooth I didn’t find any glitch. One suggestion to the app maker, using UTS we can book season ticket, if it is added here would be great for daily train users. ### 5/5 — Finally, a Government App That Gets UX Right *2025-09-24* As a product designer, I’m genuinely impressed with this app. It has one of the cleanest UIs and smoothest experiences I’ve seen in a government app. The flows feel intuitive and thoughtfully designed, which makes it so much easier to browse routes and book tickets. I often use UTS for train bookings, but its confusing flow and glitches made it frustrating. This app, on the other hand, feels much more refined. One suggestion: while booking train tickets, there’s no option to choose between Journey (one-way) and Return tickets, which UTS currently provides. Adding this would make the booking experience complete. Overall, I really appreciate the effort put into this app. It’s a big step forward for government digital services. ### 5/5 — Effortless travel at your fingertips *2025-09-23* Really impressed with how smooth this Chennai one app feels! The design is super nice, and booking buses, metro, trains, or autos is just a tap away. Even the live tracking is clear as day. Feels like the first travel app in India that truly brings all tickets in one place. It makes public transport so easy by bringing metro, buses, and trains into a single platform with one ticket system. Real-time tracking, simple payments, and multi-language support are very useful for daily commuters like me. It really saves time and avoids the stress of waiting in long queues. Thank You Note: A big thanks to our Hon’ble Chief Minister M. K. Stalin sir and the CUMTA team for launching such a people-friendly project. This is a great step towards a modern, smart Chennai. Proud to see our city moving forward with digital innovations. 🙏 ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Prime bus booking *2026-03-13* Absolutely the worst experience with Prime Bus booking. I booked a bus from Siruseri and the ticket clearly showed the timing and confirmed schedule. But the bus never arrived. After waiting for a long time, I found out that the bus itself was not even available, yet the ticket was still showing as scheduled and active in the system. This is completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. On top of that, I lost my money. They even mention in their policy that even if the issue is on their side, they will not return the money. This makes it look like they are running the Prime Bus booking option just for money extortion rather than providing a real service. I also raised a concern with their support team, but there has been no reply from them at all. No response, no accountability, nothing. This is a terrible service and a complete waste of customers’ time and money. I strongly warn others not to trust this Prime Bus booking option. ### 1/5 — Please Allow Email Login – Not Everyone Has an Indian Phone Number *2026-02-27* I recently tried using the Chennai One app and noticed that it mandates login using only an Indian phone number. This is quite inconvenient for foreigners and NRIs who may not have an active Indian mobile number. How are they supposed to access the services? In today’s time, with increasing privacy concerns and AI-based spam calls/messages, many users are not comfortable sharing their phone numbers unnecessarily. The app should definitely provide an option to sign up or log in using an email address instead of making phone number mandatory. Chennai One is meant to be a public-facing app, and it should be inclusive and accessible to everyone, including NRIs and international users. None of the auto cab drivers go by the fair and always they ask for extra. This app will not solve that problem until you start taking action against those reported drivers and if you really want to take any action, first, you should provide an option to report the drivers in this app itself **Developer response:** We’re sorry for the bad experience. When I try to open it, a blank screen appears and the app suddenly closes. Before updating to the latest version, the app was working fine. I also tried reinstalling it, but the issues still persists. Kindly fix this issue.. iPhone 7 iOS version 15.8.7 ### 3/5 — Pre booking premium bus issue *2026-07-14* Premium busses booking always it shows the bus gonna starts from koyambedu if I am at velachery I could see bus coming near velachery may be it wil 2 bus stop before the velachery I can’t book that bus even I choosing that bus from live track it show book ticket for the bus while booking it shows the slots which starts from Cmbt only it will coming after another half and hour I understand it’s earcly booking but regular based on the time we need on time bus booking as well ### 3/5 — About the premium bus service *2026-03-13* I would like to bring to your notice an issue regarding the premium bus service operated by Metropolitan Transport Corporation (Chennai) from Thiruvanmiyur to Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus. Even after the bus departs from the origin point, the reservation slot for the bus continues to remain open for booking. This creates confusion for passengers and may lead to inconvenience. I kindly request the concerned authorities to look into this issue and ensure that the reservation slot closes once the bus departs, so that passengers are not misled. ### 3/5 — Needs improvement but a good app it is *2025-09-29* I’ve been using this app for couple weeks but today when I booked a ticket for the bus route 104, it got booked but I wasn’t able to enter the otp details(OTP: K0132-Redhills to Tbm). So I had to get a ticket from the conductor despite I had a ticket booked in app, I had to pay two times and I’ve no way in this app to get my money back. Please add a option to get refund or make sure the essential services are up to date and online. We hope you’ll try the app again, and if satisfied, kindly update your rating. ### 4/5 — Based on my personal experience *2025-10-29* The Chennai One app looks neat and is very convenient to use — really user friendly. Kudos to the developers! It truly solves the daily challenges and pain points of passengers. Before this app, I had to plan my schedule with extra buffer time since bus schedules weren’t publicly available. I also used to worry about carrying small change. Nowadays, we all use digital payments even for small amounts, so it was difficult to keep coins or exact cash for tickets. Sometimes, even the conductor faced the same issue when returning the correct balance. All that hassle is gone now! The app allows you to book tickets easily. Overall, it has really improved the lifestyle of daily commuters. ### 5/5 — Add seat availability *2026-07-19* Based on the ticket provided, it would be highly beneficial to display seat availability directly on the bus results page. All the best and continue the good work with regular updates and improvements ### 5/5 — Enhancement Request: Boarding Point ETA and Booking Availability *2026-06-09* The Chennai One app is extremely useful and has made commuting much more convenient. I appreciate the effort put into building and maintaining the platform. I would like to request a couple of enhancements that would further improve the user experience: 1. Display estimated arrival time at the selected boarding point I frequently book the P570S bus from Guindy to Velachery and vice versa. Currently, the app displays the departure time from the bus’s starting location, which is usually Koyambedu or Siruseri. Because of this, it is difficult to estimate when the bus will reach my actual boarding point (Guindy or Velachery). It would be very helpful if the app could display the approximate arrival time at the user’s selected boarding point. This would make journey planning much easier and more accurate. 2. Allow booking until the bus reaches the selected boarding point Recently, I have been unable to book tickets once the bus departs from its starting location. For example, if a bus leaves Koyambedu at 6:15 PM and reaches Guindy around 7:00 PM, I was previously able to book a ticket for boarding at Guindy until the bus actually reached Guindy. However, starting this week, booking appears to close as soon as the bus departs from its origin (6:15 PM), even though my boarding point is Guindy and the bus has not yet reached there. As a result, I am unable to book tickets after 6:15 PM for that service. It would be great if bookings could remain open until the bus reaches the selected boarding point, as was previously the case. ### 5/5 — Chennai’s all in one Transport App *2026-05-17* When you’re hustling through the city and you happen to use the Public transport, payments might be a problem; trying to find the right denomination of money is a huge task. This App solves it all, indeed a solution I was long waiting for. Payments feel seamless through the Bhim App and other Payment Gateways.
