## What is Cherries Cars?

Buy the right car at the right price — and know what it's worth every day after.

Cherries prices enthusiast and collector cars from real, recent auction sold results and live dealer listings — and shows its work. No vague "book value": every estimate comes with a confidence level, a price range, and the exact comps behind it. Scan a VIN at the lot and know where the asking price sits before you commit.

Considering — the notebook for cars you're weighing up. Save each candidate with the seller's asking price and your notes. See how that price sits against the estimate — the percentage, and where it lands in the range. Compare candidates side by side, ranked by how each asking price sits. Watch a VIN and get told when that exact car is listed again. Listing history and owner-reported problems sit on the VIN screen. Bought it? One tap moves it into your garage, history and all.

Ask. Cherries AI is a conversation, not a dashboard. Ask what a car is worth, why a number moved, or which of your candidates sits best — it reads your notebook and your garage and shows the evidence.

Value any car — free to start. Search a make and model or paste a VIN — or, on Plus, point your camera at a VIN or title. An instant estimate with the market trend and a build sheet decoded from the VIN.

Track your garage. Log service and ownership history and watch your collection's value move — cost basis, each car's share and its own gain, and a trendline that starts at the first real estimate, not at what you paid. Sold a car? Its realized gain stays on the record. The factory build sheet lives on each car's page: the sticker as built, and every option with its code and price in the PDF.

Every car gets its story. The Journal is a timeline per car — the day you bought it, service, upgrades, photos, wrench days, road stories and milestones, in one record.

Care. Service schedules that know your model tell you what's due and when. Log the work and the history stays with the car — upkeep counted as upkeep, upgrades as upgrades. On Plus, set a safety recall alert for your whole garage in a tap: when a campaign is filed on something you own, it reaches you once, per campaign. Every tier is told when a car has one — free.

Watch the market. Follow the models you're chasing and browse live enthusiast auctions — what's bidding now, with ticking countdowns, and what just sold. Curated picks a few live auctions each day and says why: a bid under the sold record, a marque you own or watch, no reserve. Saved listings live with your account, on every device. Price alerts arrive by push and email.

News. Live articles with search and category filters.

The Paddock — a community that actually knows cars. Model-specific rooms, a real feed with replies and notifications, and full-screen photos. Share garage milestones if you like — prices always stay private. Invite a friend and they're credited to you.

Built for provenance. A shareable Cherries Report, the factory build sheet as a PDF, a service dossier, or an insurance-ready vehicle report for a listing, an insurer, or a buyer.

Private by design. Optional app lock with Face ID or your passcode. Sign in with Apple, or with an email and a password you can reset from the sign-in screen.

Free to value cars, build your garage, and keep a Considering notebook. Plus adds price alerts, camera capture, a larger watchlist and garage, and full VIN build sheets. Pro adds VIN listing history, an ownership cost forecast, PDF exports, and a daily valuation refresh. Subscriptions are billed to your App Store account and renew automatically until canceled.

Cherries values are estimates for information only, not appraisals or investment advice.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.3 — 2026-10-04

Cherries 2.0.3 rebuilds the Paddock.

NEW
• The Paddock opens on Discover. Following, Liked and Communities sit beside it as a filter on the same page rather than four separate places.
• A card at the top puts the communities on a rail, each one showing the faces of the people in it and when it was last posted in.
• Order the page by newest, by likes or by comments, and narrow it to posts with photographs, posts about a car, a kind of post, or your own. A control appears only when it would change what you are reading.
• Every post is drawn on its own card.
• Follow a collector straight from the suggestions rail, without opening their profile first.

CHANGED
• The shortcut list on Home is called More.
• Sections on Home settle open instead of snapping, and opening one from the bottom of the screen no longer jumps the page.

FIXED
• Photographs attached to a post or to an upgrade could fail to send, with a message that did not explain itself. Cherries now measures what the upload will actually carry and tells you before you send it.
• A profile whose garage did not load reported zero cars. It now says nothing there, and the garage itself says it could not load.
• Leaving a tab before it finished loading could leave older content on screen with nothing to say so.

### 2.0.2 — 2026-10-01

Cherries 2.0.2 starts with what the app says when it does not know enough to price a car.

• Too few comparable sales and you get no estimate at all, rather than one built from sales that do not fit. The individual sales still show, with where and when they sold.
• Adding a car, looking into one, or watching a model each end on a page that says what was saved and what happens next.
• Those flows start blank every time, and a half-finished one waits as a draft on the little car above the gold plus. Tap it to carry on where you stopped.
• The shortlist puts every car on one scale, so you can see which asking prices sit furthest under their market read.
• Press and hold to select and copy a VIN, a figure, a note, or a Cherries AI answer.
• Home sits in the middle of the tab bar, and its Brief is now a board of tiles.
• New accounts get a short tour, replayable any time from Settings.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-09-24

Cherries 2.0.1 is the first update to the native app. It keeps every promise of 2.0 and fixes the one thing owners told us about first.

FIXED
• Your own photos stay on your cars after the app is closed and reopened. Uploads over 4 MB are compressed on the phone so you can send the detailed shot, not a smaller one.
• Opening Care on a car no longer scrolls the page away from you.

NEW
• Curated. A handful of live auctions Cherries picks each day, each with the reason it was picked — the bid sits under the sold record for that generation, a marque you own or watch, no reserve, the first of its kind to come up in months. The picks hold for the day. Filter to marques you own or watch, or to auctions ending today.
• The AI photo look-over reads up to eight photos, checks the VIN sticker against the VIN you scanned, sets the odometer in the photo beside the mileage you entered, reads tyre date codes, and checks each photo against the factory build sheet. Every finding names the photo it came from, and the read is kept with the candidate.
• Live auction pages show the house's own listing details and the full description, and add the car to your watchlist with the year and marque filled in.
• Set your ZIP right where the market read asks for it, and keep up to three.
• Garage rows open in place — range, confidence, what you paid, upkeep, last service — with one button to the full record.
• Each car's page has four sections instead of six. Documents live with the car's facts; the Journal sits inside Care.

CLEARER
• Gain and loss are easier to read in dark mode. Gold buttons use dark text.
• Larger text sizes lay out cleanly on the value card, the garage trend and the Home brief.
• Your profile's featured car shows its reference photo instead of a placeholder.

### 2.0 — 2026-09-14

Cherries 2.0 is a complete rebuild. It is a native iPhone app now, and it is faster everywhere.

NEW
• Considering is its own tab, and a six-step walkthrough for a car you are weighing up: the VIN, the listing, a market read with the build sheet, an AI read of your photos, the notebook, and a dealer brief you can read out loud.
• Two reads on every car's value — what dealers are asking and what cars like it have sold for — each on its own tile, and a plain sentence when the two disagree.
• An AI photo look-over: up to four photos read for condition, color and anything that does not match the listing. It says plainly what it cannot see.
• Questions for the seller, coached two or three at a time, with follow-ups based on what you are told.
• Care opens on the most pressing job, with a one-tap log, and a four-arc dial per car for engine, brakes, fluids and tires. A car with no record keeps an open arc.
• Care also lives inside each car, with that car's own schedule and spend.
• Cherries AI streams its answer and names each step as it works.
• A guided export: pick the document, pick the cars, and see what each document will find on each car before you commit.
• Real offline. Your garage, care and watchlist read with no signal, marked as cached.
• Garage and market figures blur the moment you leave the app, not only when the lock is on.
• Double-tap a photo in the Paddock to like it.

CHANGED
• Auctions and your watchlist are one Market tab now.
• Care moved out of the tab bar; it opens from Home and from your garage.
• Requires iOS 18. If you are on iOS 16 or 17, stay on version 1.5; it keeps working.

NOT IN THIS VERSION YET
We would rather ship the rebuild than hold it for these. All of them still work on cherriescars.com in the meantime:
• Market movers and leaderboards
• Events
• Saved searches
• Follower lists
• The model encyclopedia
• Miles/kilometers and other display preferences
• Reading a license plate with the camera — the scanner reads VINs; a typed plate still works

They are on the list. Tell us which one you miss and it moves up.

### 1.5 — 2026-09-11

CONSIDERING, THE WHOLE DECISION
• A car you're weighing up now keeps an ask trail — every asking price the seller has set, in order. A "price cut" is something you can see rather than take their word for.
• Pass on a car and it moves to Passed, keeping the note that says why. The list you're choosing from stays short and nothing is lost.
• The comparison line names what it measured against, instead of saying "28.5% below ask" one line under the seller's own ask.
• Service intervals for a car you don't own yet — the same schedule Care uses once it's yours, so before and after buying can't disagree.

YOUR VALUE CHART, THE WHOLE STORY
• A car you've sold is back in your history where it belongs. Its purchase, its run and its sale are on the line again, instead of the shape being redrawn as though you had never owned it.
• A car no longer counts in the months before you bought it. A garage with cars bought years apart had an inflated left edge, which flattened the growth the chart is drawn to show.

ONE PLACE FOR AUCTIONS
• The Auctions tab is now Market › Live — one board instead of two, with the same filters. Signed out, you get the real board rather than a teaser.

A PRICE WATCH ON ONE CAR
• Save a listing and be told when that exact car's price is cut. The watch is only offered where the price can actually be read, instead of storing one that could never fire.

MODELS AND TRIMS THAT MATCH THE MARKET
• Trim lists now come from what the market itself uses, across the whole modern catalogue. A trim spelled our way and not theirs used to match nothing, and the car was quietly priced off its bare model.
• Type a nameplate that is filed as a trim rather than a model — an M3 inside a 2008 3 Series — and the picker tells you where it lives and how many are listed there.
• The year field stops at next model year instead of 2100.

FIXES
• Quotes and dashes in auction titles and descriptions render as characters, not as code.
• Listing and article photos load lighter.
