### 4/5 — Some minor tweaks would be good

*2025-12-18, version 2.62.0*

All is good, I just really wish there were 2 things available:
- change a store on any point of order. I want to see in which one it’s gonna cost less. I even emptied my basket and still can not switch because “I’m amending an order”.
- be able to search recipes based on extra ingredients that are left from other picked recipes.

### 2/5 — Didn’t understand it

*2025-11-16, version 2.60.0*

Hi, I purchased your pro subscription as I thought we could plan our meals + add leftovers with that subscription but that was not the case.

Please refund me the 41.99 I spent on this, I had to cancel the subscription and delete my account immediately after since it didn’t have the features I was told it would have.

### 2/5 — Paprika app is better

*2025-09-14, version 2.58.0*

I wanted this to be good. It is not. The paprika app does exactly the same and only costs 5£ one off.
No unjustified subscriptions

### 2/5 — Previously 5 Stars

*2025-09-01, version 2.57.0*

I loved this app when it was free and I’ve been paying to use its low tier subscription for a while but I feel like I get even less than I did when it was free.

So many of the recipes have been taken off, there is rarely any new recipes and when there is they are often side dishes or snacks and not full meals.

The fact that you can’t add in your own recipes without paying for the over expensive tier is ridiculous and means I no longer use the app and I’ve ended up wasting money rather than saving it.

Overall it’s disappointing and you’re better off spending the subscription money on a couple of recipe books you will actually use.

### 4/5 — Josie

*2025-05-14, version 2.53.0*

Second or third time trying this service. End up struggling on the doorstep every time trying to move goods from the plastic stacking crates into bags with no help. Used to be only Sainsbury’s that left me stuck like this but Asda is now doing the same. I was going to leave a1 star but that’s unfair to the app. I’m going to leave it open but just use it for a recipe and shopping list and not waste my energy on the supermarkets that are letting them down.

### 2/5 — Too many glitches

*2025-03-31, version 2.52.0*

I’ve tried several apps for this purpose and ran this one through the trial. It’s simply too glitchy. It’s easy to import recipes but that’s only possible on paid plan, the shopping list it generates are wildly inaccurate, it doesn’t combine things very well. For example 3 recipes asking for half a teaspoon of paprika generated 3 jars of paprika.
Spent many hours trying to adjust and check quantities. Recipes already with a batch of 6 for example a cake, if you say 5 servings it creates 5*6

Samsung food formerly whisk handles this stuff so much better.

Unfortunately not for me and will delete

### 4/5 — A good app but I wish the method showed the ingredient amounts.

*2025-03-30, version 2.52.0*

I have made a couple meals with this now and they have been really good.

I personally tend to buy in store and my first stop is Aldi to see what I can get there first before going to Tesco or Sainsbury’s.

My one gripe is that the recipes seem to not show the quantities of the ingredients on the recipe itself, only in the ingredients tab so I find myself flicking back and forth when I really shouldn’t need to.

### 3/5 — Good concept, hugely inflated value/cost of subscription.

*2025-02-08, version 2.49.0*

This app is only cost savings for those who aren’t aware of free tools which do (almost) the same thing AND shop at premium supermarkets.

I personally shop at Aldi. I use a free Notion template which allows me to input unlimited recipes and the ingredients (with amounts) required for each recipe. It’s attached to a weekly planner where I just click “Monday” for example and then select the recipes I want to make which then pulls through a list of all the ingredients I need. The only benefit that Cherrypick offers is the automatically combined ingredients when it generates a shopping list for you, but it’s not rocket science to work out what 200g chicken breast x4 equals either. It’s simply convenience.

I wouldn’t use the automatic online shop feature as shopping at Tesco, Sainsbury’s or Asda is always going to be more expensive than Aldi.

The “Instant meal planning” feature doesn’t actually work unless you select a number of meals needed that can be divided by the standard serving size you set at the beginning. It also takes two seconds to select the meals yourself so this is a redundant “Pro” feature in my opinion - it’s slightly convenient at best.

Cupboard tracking (where it gives you a heads up if you might have an ingredient in) is, again, slightly convenient - it’s not 100% accurate so needs checking over anyway and you could do it yourself in a minute or so.

I haven’t actually worked out what the difference is between “Magic shopping lists” offered in the “Plus” version compared to the automatically combined ingredients in the free version…

Weekly plant tracking offered in the “Pro” version is interesting but again can relatively easily be done yourself.

The main features I was intending to use were the Recipe Importing (“Pro” feature) and Access to Tailored Recipe Recommendations (“Plus” feature) as this would allow me to find relevant new recipes slightly more easily (social media algorithms do a pretty good job for free though) and have a slightly more automated process than I currently have as I wouldn’t have to combine the amounts of each ingredient myself when the shopping list is created on the free tool.

I would have been happy to pay the £42 per year cost of the “Plus” version if that included everything in the “Pro” version, as I think that is a reasonable amount to pay for convenience. However, the £84 a year for “Pro” is ridiculous in my opinion. I have other, more useful, paid app subscriptions that are a quarter of that cost.

The main reasoning behind such a high cost is that it’s a “cost saving” app. However, as I’ve outlined above, that is simply only true for those who aren’t aware of free tools that can support you to do the exact same AND shop at premium supermarkets. Anyone who spends a little time planning their food shop and shops at budget supermarkets will not see any cost benefit from using this app.

It would surprise me if Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda were not sponsoring this app in some way too…

From a personal perspective, if I was to buy “Plus,” given the fact that I wouldn’t be able to import my usual recipes which makes the automated shopping list features redundant unless I exclusively eat brand new recipes all the time, I would essentially be paying £42 per year for access to new recipes - which I can get for free on social media.

While I think “Pro” would save me some time when finalising my shopping list, the cost is completely unjustified when I will not see any cost benefit with my actual shopping.

If you are someone who shops at Waitrose and goes in without a list hoping for the best, then you might see some cost benefit after paying an extra £42-84 a year for this app.

### 3/5 — Good app - Unbalanced pricing model

*2025-02-01, version 2.48*

I love this app.
It helps and it’s a well organized way to stay on top of your meal planning.

However the pricing model is not fair or balanced.

Specifically I can’t explain why importing your own recipes is part of the pro version and not of the plus version.

Importing your own recipes (or at least some of your own) should definitely be part of the plus membership - it doesn’t require extra resources, doesn’t require any access to exclusive recipes etc.

I appreciate that being given access to exclusive recipes and AI tools etc etc comes with cost and should be part of pro.

But importing your own is a basic principle of the app and should be part of the plus version.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2024-12-20, version 2.44.0*

I really like this app. It’s great to be able to get a shopping list for meals straight from the app. One thing I think could be better is to have the quantity of the ingredients on the method page to save you swiping back and forth! If it has this it would be a five star.

### 2/5 — Used to be great

*2024-12-12, version 2.42.0*

I used to love this app. But now most of the recipes are locked. There are free ones but they aren’t the best

### 5/5 — Enjoyed in the beginning more !!!

*2024-10-30, version 2.39.0*

Started off being great, delighted I found the convienience of the app until they all start to lock unless you subscribe 🤷‍♀️

### 2/5 — Love the concept - outdated though.

*2024-10-29, version 2.39.0*

When adding recipes to the basket for Tesco or Asda I’m constantly getting - This product has been removed from our range and will be removed from your order when you checkout

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not budget friendly

*2025-11-16, version 2.60.0*

2 recipes 8 portions £4,50 a portion. Recommend £1.50 tinned tomatoes when Tesco are currently offering £0.43 tinned tomatoes. Recipes are wired and wonderful with Jamie Oliver levels of faff. Not recommended for time stretched and budget conscious families. Sorry I really liked the idea of this app as well.

### 1/5 — Cannot signup

*2025-09-23, version 2.58.0*

None of the create account paths allow me to paste a password, or allow iOS to autofill a secure password. So the only way to sign up is to manually add a (likely) insecure password. No thanks.

### 1/5 — Broken subscription model

*2025-05-17, version 2.53.0*

I created a bunch of recipes prior to this app needing a subscription.

The app now says the recipe I created is “Exclusive to plus” despite being “Added by me” and the fact I pay for their lower tier subscription.

Genuinely can’t fathom what their developers/product team were thinking when they made the decision to lock paying customers out of their own data.

Completely eroded my trust in them.

### 1/5 — Con artists

*2025-05-04, version 2.53.0*

I bought the subscription and as soon as I paid the money I was logged out and not able to get back in saying that my account didn’t exist - though they where happy to take my money! Absolutely outrageous and I can’t even contact the team to discuss. Wouldn’t trust these guys at all!!

### 1/5 — Not correct recipe

*2025-04-26, version 2.52.0*

I added that I needed dairy and gluten-free recipes because I have family members with intolerances and yet it still gave me recipes with dairy and gluten in not pleased

### 1/5 — Not great

*2025-01-15, version 2.47.0*

I went and done a shop for 6 recipes to then start cooking and realise that half the ingredients are missing for most of the recipes! Useless!

### 1/5 — Used to love it

*2024-11-17, version 2.40.0*

This app was absolutely perfect for me, as someone with ADHD, it really helped me manage. I am so sad to see that there are now 2 subscription options, and that using the app for free is now basically impossible. 90% of the recipes I liked are now “locked”. I understand the business needs to make money but this is so so sad and I am genuinely gutted. What a brilliant idea ruined.

### 1/5 — CherryPickPlus

*2024-09-17, version 2.36.0*

I used to recommend this app to all of my friends- I loved scrolling and saving recipes and have used it many times to add ingredients to my shop and try out new foods. But now I have to pay for a membership? I cannot add recipes to my shopping list, I cannot save recipes, and some recipes I do not even have access to. I’m as student and now this app is practically inaccessible to me. Seems ridiculous you now have to pay for all the features that made the app attractive. Really disappointing.

### 1/5 — Ruined the original point of the app

*2024-08-18, version 2.34.0*

Having a subscription ruined this app for me, blocking recipes behind a paywall.

The entire point of this app was to make weekly shopping cheaper, and cheaper than recipe boxes. However with the subscription, this defeats the entire point.

I’ll be looking elsewhere and recommend you do too if you want to actually save money!

### 1/5 — A shame

*2024-07-27, version 2.32.0*

Was once free now every other recipe is behind a paywall. I am disabled and this app used to be so helpful for me. Now I have been priced out of using it. So disappointing.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The best Plan, Shop, Cook App!

*2026-06-16, version 2.69.0*

Love this app, brilliant customer service, they really encourage feedback from users. The app just keeps getting better, the swaps function is great, always great meals you can personalise to suit your preferences. Knowing you are providing a meal for a child that may need one is amazing and really sets this apart from other apps. Very caring company.

### 5/5 — Great app with lots of value

*2026-04-03, version 2.65.0*

I use this app every week to do my general shop on top of meals for the week. Most of the recipes are delicious with easy to follow instructions. Because the app uses supermarket delivery or click & collect it works out much cheaper than meal kit boxes but with more convenience.

### 5/5 — Combine shopping for recipes with your everyday shop

*2025-07-26, version 2.57.0*

This app is wonderful. You choose the recipes that you like the look of and it works out what you should order and adds them to your shopping basket. If you already have some of the ingredients you can uncheck them. Then, in addition, you can order any other items that you need.

My meals are healthier, tastier and cheaper. And it’s getting my teens into cooking too. You can share a recipe for someone else to cook.

I wish I’d used it sooner. Thank you Cherrypick!

### 5/5 — Healthy, diverse, and a big time-saver!

*2025-06-25, version 2.56.0*

I’ve placed over 10 orders with Cherrypick, and it’s been a great way to eat healthier than I usually do. I’ve also discovered new cuisines I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. The recipes are straightforward, and having everything planned out really saves me time during the week. The only thing I’d improve is the final product list — I usually double-check it to make sure quantities haven’t increased unexpectedly. Other than that, it’s been super convenient and enjoyable!

### 5/5 — Amazingly helpful!

*2025-06-04, version 2.55.0*

I have struggled with planning my meals for ages but this app has helped so much. I waste less food because I use the app to plan my meals for the week and feel like I save money in the long run! I don’t use the delivery function as it’s connected to Sainsbury’s but I use the shopping list function which is just as handy! I’m finally eating healthy thanks to this app, highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Life Hack

*2025-05-24, version 2.54.0*

This app has helped me stay organised and reduce my weekly grocery spend. By planning my meals around a couple ingredients this has helped me cut down on food waste and those extra trips to the store.

### 5/5 — So useful

*2025-05-10, version 2.53.0*

This app is so helpful to plan and shop for meals, I didn’t realise how much I needed it! It’s helped me to cook at home more and eat healthier because it’s all planned in advance on a busy week.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2025-04-02, version 2.52.0*

I’ve really been enjoying this app! The recipes are easy to follow, and the meal planning feature makes grocery shopping so much simpler. I also love that it connects to different supermarkets for quick ordering.

One suggestion: it would be great to see Aldi added to the list of available stores. They offer great prices and quality products, which would make meal planning even more budget-friendly. Hope to see this added in a future update!

### 5/5 — Lifechanging

*2025-01-26, version 2.48*

Honestly life changing, not sure what else to say. Saving money, time and recipes are really good. Pro is worth it imo for being able to make your own recipes and lists. Now doing a week shop for half price I was spending before, we have little wastage, and simultaneously there’s always the food there when we open the fridge. Honestly amazing!

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2024-11-06, version 2.39.0*

Been using cherry pick since it was lollipop absolutely love this app

One question to the developers can you add a “cooking mode” to prevent the screen from locking?
