I have reported sightings over the years this app has been around and find it easy to use. We’re LUCKY to have this info at all. I can look around the map before I head to the beach to see if they’ve been spotted nearby recently. Why? I can understand advanced features like submitting a dolphin sighting could require a login to reduce malicious submission of sightings but I don’t understand why anyone who downloads the app can’t see the sightings on the map without creating an account. Increase adoption and user abandonment by allowing anyone who downloads the app to see dolphin sightings. Then move user registration as a secondary feature or part of the workflow before you can submit a sighting.
