### 4/5 — Glitch

*2026-06-24, version 2.2*

I just played a game where there was a glitch and opponent took my king off the board and the game continued….confusing and frustrating but also really hilarious. Love this app tho, this was a rare glitch

### 2/5 — Needs social updates

*2025-12-23, version 2.2*

It's annoying that people can request games with you that appear everytime you want a ranked game. It is happening quite frequently to the point of wanting to block this person.
However there isn't a way of doing this, which is also annoying as I have to keep losing the game just to try and get another person to play against. Killing my rating.

### 3/5 — Puzzles

*2025-05-16, version 2.2*

Many of the moves made by the computer are ridiculous and therefore not realistic

### 4/5 — Nice but …

*2025-04-05, version 2.2*

Nicely designed and easy to start a game. However, the ratings are grossly inflated. At my best, I’m around 2010. On this app, I am 2700+. There are players rated in the 2800s, who make careless mistakes.
Feature requests:
When I tap on a notification, I should be taken to that game.
When I submit a move, in a game, I should be taken to the next game.

### 4/5 — LOL

*2024-05-23, version 2.2*

Love the app, but when the computer makes a mistake on level 4 or higher, it causes a glitch and keeps closing the app lol

### 4/5 — Wait time

*2024-05-09, version 2.2*

Great app and ranking system is able to play with excellent players . Only problem I face “waiting time” it’s really abusing several players. Please make it 48 hrs expire time per move instead of 5 days.

### 3/5 — Buggy puzzle system and lots of cheaters

*2023-12-15, version 2.2*

First off I wanna say this app is fun to play chess with others when your opponents play fairly. After which it all goes down hill.. there are a lot and I mean a lot of either bots or chess engine cheaters. I have played more then 150 different players all low rated “not my choice the computer auto picks your opponents “who are apparently super grandmasters and are in beatable even though their rating shows otherwise. I am not claiming to be perfect but I have a rating of high 2400’s and have about a 96% move accuracy in which all of my opponents always have 100%. Which is only possible with a chess engine / program. Also the puzzles are highly flawed. I have put the computer into mate so many times and it tells me I am incorrect and would rather me win a piece?? More often then not the puzzles rely on the computer making a blunder after your first move which is completely ludicrous. Please fix your puzzles and add a report button so we can start banning these cheaters..

### 4/5 — Very good!

*2023-11-11, version 2.2*

Very good app! Would love to be able to add my friends as friends so I can access games with them easier but its really not necessary. I hear there is a paid version so I might check if that’s a feature there haha!

I did have one absolutely miserable experience** though. For the first time in YEARS I was very close to winning a game of chess. Was just one turn off checkmate…. Then the game corrupted, coming up with an error any time I tried to access the game and in the end I was forced to ask for a draw 😩 (**It wasn’t actually a big deal and was kinda funny tbh, but I could see it being VERY frustrating to people playing more seriously)

### 3/5 — Puzzles are fubar

*2023-06-27, version 2.1*

Many of the puzzles are just stupid and wrong. Many better moves are available but if you don’t choose their move, you are penalized.

### 4/5 — Notifications don’t work anymore

*2022-11-08, version 2.1*

For a reason I don’t receive notifications anymore, there is a bug in the latest version

### 3/5 — Does not allow all chess moves

*2022-09-18, version 2.0*

Games is great but does not allow for moves like en passant or king takes queen. It also needs sound.

### 5/5 — Lovin’ It

*2022-07-31, version 2.0*

I am in love with the game of chess, although I battle with lack of time to spend in studying it. BUT NOW IAM IN LOVE WITH THIS APP ALSO! The upgrades that have been applied to this app are simply AMAZING! If possible I would like to suggest one thing if possible? Could U also make the color scheme of the app customizable for the user sorta like the board color? If not, it won’t matter! I still love both the game and the app! I still have to find study time!!!!
God Bless

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ok but

*2026-06-26, version 2.2*

Average game full of chess cheats maybe add a checker that people aren’t useing engines

### 1/5 — Idiotic draw feature

*2025-12-23, version 2.2*

The Game decides for itself to award draws or stalemates. It’s neither a draw or stalemate when the opponent can no longer move. That’s a loss!!!!!

### 1/5 — Glitches

*2025-08-13, version 2.2*

Game will have glitches where you move two spaces with pon and it lets player kill you like you moved one space has happened on multiple occasions and no contact support to fix problem when it occurs

### 1/5 — Locked out and can’t sign back in

*2025-05-14, version 2.2*

I played with this app with my friend a lot. Then it locked me out in the middle of a game and I can’t sign back in. Tried to create a new account - it wont let me. Deleted the app, downloaded it again - still wont let me. Purchased the paid version - still wont let me log back in or create a new account. Help please!

### 1/5 — Third review… basically amazed u can’t get any customer service in this app.

*2025-03-05, version 2.2*

It’s unbelievable u can’t get any response on an issue… and I haven’t had an issue in 5 years until now. The issue I had is now junior to No one will answer your inquiries!!

### 1/5 — No points… terrible support

*2025-02-16*

I played a person one game for two months, his rating was above mine all this time. It looked like he was playing multiple games and just quit playing them… he dropped 600 points in two days. The game analysis had me ahead. I got 0 points for the win after two months. I have written the support but from the other comments I’ve read on the reviews… no one bothers to get back to you. It’s disappointing

### 1/5 — App not opening

*2024-01-12, version 2.2*

The app isn’t opening. It’s been like that for 2 days… 18 games in waiting… 😭

### 1/5 — Too much player abuse

*2022-08-11, version 2.0*

The app works fine, but the chat feature does not allow for muting or blocking players, and some players become highly abusive. Some players have obscene or highly objectionable player handles (like ‘IWillRapeU’ and there is no way screen out these cretins either. Life is too short to have to put up with that type of abuse.

### 1/5 — Rejection isn’t a draw!

*2022-07-19, version 2.0*

Keeps trying to play me I reject now ever time is a draw on my record. Fix that or I’ll be finding a different site.

### 1/5 — Not working right

*2020-12-05, version 1.8*

I have to switch out of the app and back in for my opponents move to appear. It’s a glitch so I will go to another chess app not chess by post

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — i almost died, great app though

*2024-07-20, version 2.2*

I almost got lured by a pedophile (not drake) when i was dumb and didnt really know what to do in those situations. the user was a user named “rosehannah” and she will ASK FOR YOUR NUMBER for “chess tutorials”. “she” said that “she” could see my games, which isn’t possible, and then said that i was really good when i had a super low ranking and asked for my number for tutorials. anyway, the app is really good and i highly recommend it for cross platform chess games with your friends

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2024-03-03, version 2.2*

Splendid

### 5/5 — Old friends

*2024-01-19, version 2.2*

My friends and I have stayed in touch because of this game. There’s no pressure to move or to even play that day (you’ve got 30 days between moves). I love it.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2024-01-01, version 2.2*

A cross-platform app that pairs you up with friends or random players with similar skill level, let's you learn between moves/games with a seemingly endless library of adequately challenging chess puzzles, and all that for free - that is simply amazing.
Sending big kudos from Seattle to the developer to honor this great contribution to the global chess community!!

### 5/5 — Roywallingford

*2023-07-14, version 2.1*

Would you please explain the “number “ that frequently comes up near the captured pieces.
Thank you………..Roy

### 5/5 — Perfect Chess Game

*2023-02-15, version 2.1*

This is my first review of any iPhone app. This chess game is simple, easy to use and satisfies anyone wanting to play long-term games with friends over time. Its gives up to 30 days to make a move. It’s has ads but they are small and located at the bottom of the app and are hardly noticeable. Great job to the team who developed this app. I will highly recommend to everyone.

### 5/5 — Great.

*2023-02-10, version 2.1*

Works well, does exactly what I was looking for.

### 5/5 — Very Good App

*2022-11-15, version 2.1*

I really enjoy being able to take the time to play multiple games. The App simple design is easy to use. Being able to plan moves helps prevents mistakes. I have used the app for 3years and it works very well.
Thank you!

### 5/5 — Plan Moves and Game Analysis are awesome

*2022-09-22, version 2.0*

I had a chess kick a year or two ago with a popular chess app. And this one is so much better because of two features

1. Plan Moves let’s you play out scenarios so you can see how a given move could play out. (You essentially pause the game and play for both players for a bit and then rewind when you’re ready to try a different move or actually make your move.) I feel like I’ve learned more about chess in my 6 games on this app than 20 on the other because I think through everything so much more clearly with this feature

2. Game Analysis uses an chess engine to analyze every move made in the game and show you how good it was by comparing it to the move that the computer would have made. Very helpful for getting new ideas based on how the computer would have handled something, and also just kind of fun to see a chart of who was in a better position at which points in the game based on which moves

Highly recommend

### 5/5 — Big fan

*2022-08-15, version 2.0*

Probably my most used app
