### 5/5 — Works perfectly

*2014-11-17, version 2.92*

I am happy to say that I've never had a problem with the app. It's indispensable.

### 5/5 — Buy this, not some $30 clock

*2014-11-07, version 2.92*

Excellent interface. Intuitive. Easy to use. Great for coffee shop games.

An all around great chess clock app.

### 5/5 — The clear winner!

*2014-11-05*

I started off downloading those free chess clocks thinking "A chess clock is a chess clock, right?" How mistaken I was. With some of my free clocks I have had recognition errors where the app failed to detect the tap which is frustrating and messes up your concentration, not to mention defeats the entire purpose of having a chess timer. While I would probably wish for a sleeker icon, that is a rather inconsequential request when compared to the fact that this is a top notch chess clock and really a no-brainer if you're in the market for a good one. Also, you can expect regular updates and tweaks as needed which only make an already great app that much better. I wish I found this one from the beginning, it would have saved me a lot of time.

### 5/5 — Perfect chess clock

*2014-11-05, version 2.92*

Supports all the options I need

### 5/5 — Great timer

*2014-11-04*

Use it for Chess, and just about any other two player game where one player tends to take too long. :) While not quite as satisfying as a physical "clunking" real chess clock, it's far more portable. :)

Developer is very responsive to issues. Would highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Great app

This app has everything I need! Thanks for the bug fix!

### 5/5 — Works correctly

Hands down best game clock. This app has everything, works perfectly and easy to customize. This is by far the best one of the bunch. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Just the chess clock you're looking for

*2012-08-25*

This app is great. Excellent functionality, easy on the battery, and looks good, too. I tried a number of apps before finding this one. Well worth a buck!

### 5/5 — Perfection

*2012-07-15*

I had to download 6 different clocks before I found this one. Works perfect and clock stops when you want it to, other programs I had to touch the clock several time before it would stop.

### 5/5 — Excellent clock

*2012-03-16, version 2.5*

Great alternative to buying an expensive chess clock.

### 5/5 — Still best!

*2011-07-28*

Updates are always meaningful and this app just keeps getting better. Super accurate, easy to use. Huge fan.

### 5/5 — Simple and fun

### 5/5 — Tried several...this is the one!

Tried several...this is the one!

### 5/5 — Best clock ever

*2010-10-11, version 0*

Works great, though it eats battery life like crazy. I love the ease of use and the choice between bronstein and Fischer incremental time too ! Well worth it

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — incompatible with iOS4?

*2010-06-25, version 0*

crashes on load. sad.

### 4/5 — Works fine, some recent glitches

*2014-10-04*

Was working great, doing everything it claimed, but something with iOS 8.0.x gives it a problem. It hangs my IPad when trying to program it. Had to reboot the iPad several times. Seemed like it happens when programming delays, or often ( it's sporadic ) when in the programming pages. Other than this, it has the Fischer , Bronstein, and simple delays. Would be nifty if it had one button prrograming for speed or blitz games. It is easy to read, and the display would be nice to look like an LED display, which is the way of the future in chess clocks. I do like the clock overall, I'm sure it will get resolved.

### 4/5 — A fine effort

*2011-08-20*

This is a good chess clock. Some slight improvements to the interface will make it perfect. The reset button should allow either clock to start by pressing the other (instead of having to use the menu to pick which clock starts first). A "simple delay" wherein the player's clock does not start for the selected seconds would also be great (in addition to the Fischer and Bronstein delays already provided). These are really nits and I recommend this clock to everyone.

### 4/5 — Really nice!

*2010-08-29*

This is a really nice app and I give high marks to their customer service. I made a suggestion to them that for those of us who are at a more basic level, a user guide with fuller information would be helpful. They responded almost immediately and said they would incorporate my suggestions in the next version (at which point I'll bump this up to five stars).

### 4/5 — Work

*2010-02-11, version 0*

Love the application. It does what it says on the tin and love it's simplicity. I use it for my work to help me focus on different tasks and as a reminder to switch projects.

### 4/5 — Great free app

*2010-02-07, version 0*

Nature of the iPhone is you cannot really see the time from an angle, but the app works great.

### 5/5 — good clock, and Voice-Over friendly

*2024-06-16*

Easy to set and use. Most importantly, one of the most Voice-Over friendly chess clock apps. Blind chess players need a clock we can use, and stand alone models are in excess of $300! That was NOT a typo! The only addition might be the ability to create custom time controls, such 40 moves in 2 hours, followed by 20 moves in 1 hour, then having to mate the opponent in 1 hour regardless of the number of moves it takes. You've done GREAT work with this BLIND FRIENDLY app!

### 5/5 — Yes!

*2016-06-10*

Was looking online for a backgammon clock. Ha! It's frickin perfect!

### 5/5 — Best chess clock, period

*2016-03-21*

This does everything a chess clock needs to do. Better than analog, because it's easier to read when in a hurry!
Keep better track of time and defeat your opponent by managing your clock!

### 5/5 — Nice

*2015-09-26, version 3.0.0*

Better than the free one by chess.com, does everything you want it to and more, worth my 80p.

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Will replace my Chronos clock.

*2015-04-25*

This clock is not only easy use, it is fully featured. It includes the ability to add a grace period delay. That is essential for the backgammon tournaments that I play in. As a tournament director, ease of setup is critical. Otherwise, you spend your time adjusting clocks rather than directing the tournament.

Love this clock and no longer need to carry my Chronos to tournaments.

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2015-03-23*

Very good chess clock.

### 5/5 — Best chess clock app!

*2015-01-09*

Hands down, this is the best chess clock app out there! Very intuitive. The app has a clean look and has every possible timer setting you could want. Large buttons make it easy to see how much time you and your opponent have.

### 5/5 — It's great.

*2014-12-20*

Works great on both iPad and iPhone. Saved me $100 from having to buy a real chess clock!

### 5/5 — My only complaint ...

*2014-12-20*

... is having purchased an expensive physical chess clock that now sits unused since getting this outstanding app.

### 5/5 — Best chess clock

*2014-12-20, version 3.0.0*

Having looked at many others, this is easily the best chess clock app in current development that I have found. It does not ape a mechanical clock, it has a simple, clear distraction-free interface, and most of the options you'd ever want for setting timing type, with the option of asymmetrical timings. The recent update has refined it some more, and the dev listens. (Only Marcel Nijmen's Game Time rivals it for me, and that has not been updated for 5 years.)
