• Share via AirDrop, Mail, Messages, Files, Notes, Clipboard, and compatible chess apps
• Export a professional PDF scoresheet with a position diagram

• Automatically place your pieces at the bottom of the board
• Optional legal-move and position checking

### 2/5 — good app but needs fixing for accessibility, board not accessible to voiceover users

*2026-04-04, version 26.0*

Hi,
I'm a blind chess player. I just purchaced chess score pad on the ios app-store. So far i'm liking it, however I did come across a major bug for blind voiceover, apple's screenreader, users such as myself. When it comes time to write the notation of the game; this is not possible, as voiceover doesn't read the board at all, making it impossible to enter notation or moves. Would it be possible to make this part of the app accessible, weather by making the board accessible with voiceover, or by allowing moves to be entered via notation, i.e, e4 e5 nf3 etc?
This seems like a really useful app for blind players but if the board accessibility could be improved I'd greatly appreciate it. Personally from experiense at least for blind players, having the ability to enter the moves via notation would be easier and faster.
If you want to take a look at how this works, go into lichess.org, enable the blind mode and try entering moves by not	ation.
Looking forward to your reply.
Aditionally your contact option in your site is broken. I've tried sending this via the contact us, form in your site, and I keep getting email couldn't be delivered.

### 5/5 — Great App for Over the board chess!

*2026-02-11, version 26.0*

I have been using this app for several years. It’s great for recording games and allowing review on your own or with friends. It also converts the game to.pgn format and is very easy to email games to yourself or your opponent for further analysis.

### 2/5 — Just use paper.

*2025-09-21*

Missing way too many features for the price.

**Developer response:** Hi there — Chess Score Pad is designed as a electronic scoresheet for recording games and exporting PGNs.

### 2/5 — Flaky screen controls

*2024-05-18*

This app is not highly polished. It seems to support IPad, but the screen controls are very flaky. You must repeatedly attempt to open the menu or move your pieces. Cost me a tournament game.

1. iPad Support: The app is indeed designed for iPad, and we have a video overview demonstrating its use on an iPad.

3. Move Entry: The app is designed for quick and easy move entry to avoid distracting players from their game.

4. Tournament Use: Many players successfully use Chess Score Pad in tournaments. We'd be interested in more details about the specific issues you encountered.

### 5/5 — Electronic Chess Score Pad

*2022-02-27, version 1.90*

Fabulous product! We all know what a hassle it is to enter game notations with pen and paper. Not only is it easy to screw them up but it’s distracting. This app completely ends that problem. Very intuitive. Even better, you can create a PGN file and download it into Chess.com for analysis. Due to my technological ineptitude, I was having some problems with creating and entering the PGN file so I contacted the developer, Roger Carey, who went way out of his way to help me out. Great guy! For what it’s worth, this is the first review I’ve ever written for anything.

### 4/5 — Can we get different board colors

*2021-07-18*

Any chance to get different board colors or at least lighten the dark green squares a little? The black pieces kind of get lost against the dark green background is my only complaint and I really like using the app. This would make it better.

**Developer response:** An option for a wooden chess board was added in Version 1.90 The dark squares on the wooden board are lighter and so there is more contrast for the black pieces.

Other users have mentioned this issue.

Thanks for the feedback!

### 5/5 — Great for postal tournaments!

*2021-01-03*

Don't want to keep a dozen chess boards set up? Record your games here, and take with you. Legal for all sanctioning organizations, no analysis, chess no engine.
