### 4/5 — Best chess app ever

*2026-07-18, version 2026.04.18*

The training mode shows me the error of my ways and suggests better moves with explanations

### 3/5 — 3/5 not good for professional suggestions

*2026-06-28, version 2026.04.18*

If you are just playing casually then of course this helps but if you were trying to be as good as a pro this is NOT the app for you. It sometimes gives wrong suggestions that it shouldn’t be giving. I can see better more professional moves than this app could. Rarely it will show some pro moves like sacrifices but very rarely.

### 4/5 — Great chess app

*2026-06-20, version 2026.04.18*

Good to learn chess and practice your game. The free analysis for every game is also extremely good for learning

### 4/5 — Arrows and Hints are too bold.

*2026-06-18, version 2026.04.18*

Love the game, but this latest incarnation has ruined the gui for me.

Please give an option to set the arrows red and green ones etc, as thin or bold, or just dump the bold.

Thanks.

### 4/5 — Plays good games.

*2026-06-14, version 2026.04.18*

Has interesting Master/tournament games.
Wish it had search features to help select which players, year, location you want to see.
     I highly recommend this app!

### 5/5 — Solid

*2026-05-22, version 2026.04.18*

Easy to use and I like the visuals and smooth play

### 5/5 — Fixed an issue

*2026-05-10, version 2026.04.18*

Had an issue of updating endlessly and doesn’t seems to update after updating. Turned out to be Apple issue and I thank the developers for dealing with the issue in which they reported to Apple.

Thanks.

### 5/5 — Sehr gute Bedienung

*2026-05-02*

### 5/5 — Best way to learn the chess on this application

*2026-04-30, version 2026.04.18*

Best way to learn the chess it teach you the move invented in India what a game play this to sharp your mind

### 5/5 — Great chess app

*2026-04-29, version 2026.04.18*

The trainer can be told to play at an ELO rating which is great to improve against the
players you play in the real world.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-04-28, version 2026.04.18*

Love it

### 2/5 — Need fix

*2026-04-24, version 2026.04.18*

Keep asking to update. Been updating every single day and it’s stuck in update. Deleted and installed again but still update without updating at all.

### 3/5 — Extra cost

*2026-04-03, version 2025.11.02*

I had played the free version for a while and then decided to pay the $10.00 for the pro version. I enjoyed the pro version until I decided to do the lessons. After learning the pieces and how they move there is a $4.99 charge to complete the lessons. This charge is deceptive and dishonest, there is no mention of this additional charge when paying for the pro version. Totally ruined a good experience

I purchased the app before the lessons were added so I had no idea that there would be a charge. If there was a notice that after a trial (or a set number of lessons) there would be a charge I would not have felt deceived.

### 5/5 — The additional low cost $ to purchase is worth it

*2026-03-28, version 2025.11.02*

28 March 2026 Saturday 6:43 AM MST

First tried their free version for months, then purchased the Pro. Waited to long for the upgraded Version of Pro, which is excellent for help and feedback of learning Chess these recent months. Recommend to purchase the Pro version without hesitation too be able and learn the game of Chess faster.

### 2/5 — Rip off

*2026-03-20, version 2025.11.02*

Purchased for $14.99 only to discover you have to pay for additional lessons beyond piece movement. No mention of having “in app purchases”. Save your money, it’s a rip-off!

There’s no advance information

### 1/5 — Update stuck

*2026-04-26, version 2026.04.18*

The latest update isn’t working. Every day for the last few days, it shows that it needs an update and I update it and it doesn’t update.

### 1/5 — No help function

*2025-12-26, version 2025.11.02*

I recently downloaded this highly rated chess app paid the fees and started the lessons. If get stuck on a lesson there is no help or hint function, you are left to struggle on your own. I would not recommend this app

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2025-12-17, version 2025.11.02*

The game orientation is landscape and it can’t be changed in the iPad, it’s so annoying, why not just allow portrait with no distractions??????

### 1/5 — Bot ratings are inaccurate

*2025-05-28, version 2025.05.22*

Update: still garbage

Compare to any other, including Lichess and Chess.com, and these bots are not coded accurately.

Seriously bad.

### 1/5 — It feels wrong

*2025-05-23, version 2025.05.22*

This chess game, as much as it sounds like I’m whining, feels like it cheats badly! It says it plays at an 800 ELO rating but it feels more like you’re playing a grandmaster than an average player. It’s frustrating! I regret buying it!

### 1/5 — Bot ratings are inaccurate

*2025-02-12, version 2024.12.12*

Compare to any other, including Lichess and Chess.com, and these bots are not coded accurately.

Seriously bad.

### 1/5 — Do not buy

*2024-12-07, version 2024.12.01*

Terrible PGN reader

### 1/5 — Bleeding horse head into, why was this needed?☹️

*2024-04-04, version 2024.02*

☹️

### 1/5 — Can do with an update

*2023-12-02, version 2019.06.1*

I have been using chess Tiger for over four years. I have been wondering if you could add the following functions.

1) A natural-looking 3D chessboard
2) A training sections consisted of chess puzzles
3) An opening repertoire which we can also use it for practicing our favouriste openings with white and black
4) A database of the best classical games in chess

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best way to learn the chess on this application

*2026-08-20, version 2026.08.14*

Best way to learn the chess it teach you the move invented in India what a game play this to sharp your mind all parents have to teach this game to their kids brain to be sharp very good game. I learned chess from this game five star.

### 5/5 — Genau das für was ich bezahlt hab

*2026-08-13*

### 5/5 — Trust me - as the creators say, Absolutely worth the money

*2026-08-10, version 2026.04.18*

(Following this is the default praise from the app creator, but it’s true. I’m a beginner and have played this for years. Brilliant especially for those learning the game). Really good app. Good for beginners. You can set difficulty very, very low and ramp up slowly as you beat progressively higher AI settings. Free app requires you to win a certain amount to keep playing, which means you'll tend to stay at a comfortable level. Paid app removes that so you can challenge yourself.

### 5/5 — Excelente

*2026-07-22, version 2026.04.18*

Maravillosa aplicación para practicar… y para aprender! este deporte mental… Por las características de esta aplicación es totalmente recomendable.

### 5/5 — I love this game

*2026-07-21, version 2026.04.18*

Fun and improves my skill. Worth the small $.

### 5/5 — Most Bodacious! (Update)

*2026-07-18, version 2026.04.18*

Thank you Christophe!
Just played my 8,494th game and still enjoying the challenge the game presents (2800 elo) — looking forward to the next 8000+ games.
Thanks again team from a grateful player!

### 5/5 — Best chess game app out there

*2026-07-16, version 2026.04.18*

It would be great if you could play different openings by name. I’ve been using this app for years and it’s the greatest. You can play against the computer and work your way up the Elo difficulty ladder. You can save games and import games to watch and learn. I do wish that the developer would create a set of PGN lessons to import. I would buy a lesson plan to help learn specific openings and strategies. But even just as is Chess Pro is the Best!

### 5/5 — Best Chess App!

*2026-06-13, version 2026.04.18*

Best Chess App! Had this app for a long time. I never had any problems w/ it.

### 5/5 — Ton-5

*2026-05-30, version 2026.04.18*

I love this game of chess. From beginner to master , I’m trying to reach master .

### 5/5 — Best chess app. Full stop.

*2026-05-23, version 2026.04.18*

Great flexibility for alternating positions and modifying game modes. Excellent learning tool. My compliments to the creators.
