But half of the times, the FCIS option where I want to play speed chess against others — the lag of device input renders playing not possible. It is not accessible to a screen reader and probably needs to be redone so that it is accessible. However, it became clear that it is not possible to show when the King is checked in the annotations. This is a rather important as sometimes you need a reminder when the King is under attack. In most recorded games a + sign is used to denote check yet this is nowhere to be found in the software. A bit disappointing which rather spoils what should be an excellent app. ### 4/5 — Some players missing *2018-01-08, version 3.4.1* Pretty good app I guess but some top players such as Capablanca and Judit Polgar are missing from the players list of top players. At least in my (2017) version. This doesn’t instill confidence in the reliability of other parts. Also I am very impressed by the latest upgrade. Most of the bugs were fixed. There is still the bug on the iPhone when the chess board is expanded over the entire screen. Hard to resolve that issue. ### 1/5 — Last version has a big bug *2021-03-05, version 3.5.0* The latest version is faulty. I now cannot contact FICS. It won’t allow me to add a FICS account and when I try to log on as a guest the program stops. Normally, features are added over time, I cannot see anything useful which was added in the last years. Also, the app often disconnects from Fics despite strong wireless signal. Could be the Fics servers though. So kann Apple Ihre Kunden vergraulen, indem man solche Amateure zulässt ihren Misst zu verkaufen. Kein Stern, leider geht es nicht!!!!!!! Immer noch nichts geändert um sonst den Pro gekauft. Kann nichts machen, keine meldet sich um ein Hilfestellung anzubieten. Will mein Geld zurück Ihr kleinen nicht nützlich Programmiere. Apple schütze uns von solchen Betrügern!!!!! Nachtrag vom 27.12.16 Wieder ein Update die das App. total instabil macht. Stürzt bei sogar Umdrehung des Tablettes. Total daneben und unsinnig. Ich wundere mich womit haben Sie es verdient als topp App sich zu bezeichnen. I’m a club player and I find it easy to enter games on my phone after I play one over the board while at the site and the game is still fresh in my mind. I can export and import PGN files with ease to / from my computer in various ways. I also find it’s a very usable FICS client. The databasing and analysis tools make a great reader companion and when i run on an iPad its as useful as a very pricey pc program. The links to the latest tournaments and videos are a real nice touch. Once I had an import pgn issue and the developer personally responded within days and issued a patch quickly. For just a few bucks, i have seen this app grow with features over the last few years. There are occasional quirks after a release but they get fixed because the dev is active. Its fair to ask a few bucks because I have seen the effort that has been put back into this app over time. ### 5/5 — Best chess app out there *2016-12-21, version 3.2.0* I have tried many chess apps this one isn't far the best not only does it have a great interface to FICS to play chess online, it also allows you to analyse games, replay games play against the computer or play multiplayer, there are tonnes of features in this app I've been using it for years as it's been updated over the years it gets better and better ### 5/5 — Excelent app *2016-07-17, version 3.1.7* The app is excellent.
