### 2/5 — PGNs importer problem

*2025-05-03, version 1.0*

PGNs importer doesn’t work

### 1/5 — Pgn

*2025-04-22, version 1.0*

Impossibile importare pgn nell’app

### 1/5 — Troppo uso di dati sensibili

*2025-04-11, version 1.0*

Scaricata e cancellata subito. Tra google analytics e tutto il resto sono stufo di essere profilato. A maggior ragione per giocare a scacchi. Tenetevela!

### 1/5 — Another failed mobile offering.

*2025-04-10*

Looks like another fumble from ChessBase. Can you custom the app? No. You’re limited to a small selection of board colors and there’s no way to get rid of the distracting move arrow once a move is played. It stays there. On an iPad, there’s only a horizontal orientation offered, no vertical. Can’t make the board bigger, it’s pretty small on screen. The worst thing of all is that, although I have cloud ChessBase databases posted, and in fact, CB mobile shows there’s games in my databases, opening the database shows NO GAMES!?!? What’s up with that? And PGN databases I do have on my iPad won’t upload. For now, for iOS, you’re far better off with Chess Studio.

### 1/5 — Turn off the arrows

*2026-06-02*

There’s still no way to turn off the annoying and distracting last move arrows in the app? Why is this forced? Give users the option to remove them. Until that happens, the app is worthless to me.

### 1/5 — The app seems stuck in the opening Menu

*2026-03-25*

I can’t open it

**Developer response:** Sorry for the trouble. Please update to the latest version of ChessBase Mobile, released after 28 April, and try again. We have worked on stability and startup behavior. If the app still does not open, please contact our support with your device model and iOS version so we can investigate it directly.

### 1/5 — Fix it

*2026-03-01*

Now the remote engine is not starting

**Developer response:** Thank you for reporting this. The engine start should of course work reliably. Please install the latest version of ChessBase Mobile from the App Store. If the problem remains, please send us your device model and iOS version so our team can reproduce and fix the issue.

### 1/5 — Can’t paste games into the mobile app

*2026-02-14*

I subscribed so I can paste games from chess.com and analyze them but apparently there is no way to do this in the app. Useless

**Developer response:** Thank you for the suggestion. Importing and pasting games is an important use case for many players. Please make sure you are using the latest version of ChessBase Mobile. We are also reviewing how PGN handling and game import can be made easier in future updates.

### 1/5 — Original Customer Before the Subscription Update

*2026-01-20*

I purchased this app when it was first developed. Now I am expected to pay a subscription for features I had in the old app. You decided to throw your original supporters under the bus. The right thing to do was grandfather customers who brought the app in the first year of development with a free subscription.
Simply put; THIS IS GREED.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your honest feedback. We understand that subscription changes can be frustrating, especially for users who have supported ChessBase for a long time. Our goal is to keep ChessBase Mobile sustainable while continuing to improve the app. Please contact our support team so we can review your specific case.

### 1/5 — Contraseña

*2026-01-12*

No permite recuperar la contraseña. No me acuerdo cuál era.

### 1/5 — Cannot access all games even with premium

*2025-12-31*

Limits you to 50 games of player in live database. Does not allow you to select ALL games (>50) and download.

### 1/5 — Pointless

*2025-11-30*

This app is worthless. ChessBase should develop something worthwhile.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your honest feedback. We’re sorry that ChessBase Mobile did not meet your expectations. The app is being actively developed, and the latest version includes improvements to stability, usability and mobile chess workflows. If you can share which features you miss most, it would help us prioritize future updates.

### 1/5 — I can’t retrieve my games from the cloud

*2025-05-28*

I can’t retrieve my games from the cloud

**Developer response:** We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Cloud access is a central part of ChessBase Mobile and should work reliably. Please update to the latest version and try again. If the problem continues, please contact support with your account details and device information so we can check the cloud connection.

### 1/5 — Impossible get payed ChessBase Premium

*2025-05-22*

Impossible restore Chessbase Premium. I payed ChessBase Premium Subcription , but I can’t get it in my account

**Developer response:** We’re sorry for the inconvenience. If you paid for ChessBase Premium but cannot restore or access it in your account, please contact our support team so we can check the subscription status directly. Please include the account used for the purchase, your device model and iOS version. We understand that this is frustrating and want to help resolve it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A Turn in the right direction

*2026-06-07*

This app is the start of finally something for apple products. I currently have had to use VMare Fusion emulator to even run ChessBase on my laptop, but it only uses the slowest of stockfish engines :( I like that the interface is simpler than the original and relatively fast. Makes it a bit easier to start. I would, however, like to see the following changes: 1) Notation and Analysis on the same slide. I need both at the same time for the level of prep I do. Toggling between both is highly inconvenient. 2) Some Control over the engine being used would be nice. 3) Hot Keys for faster editing (especially symbols)

### 5/5 — I’m satisfied

*2026-03-31*

Just need some optimisation,
More helpful after subscription!

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your feedback and your positive rating. We’re glad ChessBase Mobile is useful for you, especially with the subscription features. We have released a new version and continue to optimize performance, usability and the overall playing and training experience.

### 5/5 — Must have if you have Chessbase Software

*2025-11-16*

This is a must have app if you chessbase 18 or higher
The syncing of games between CB and phone is seamless
It is great if you want to revise openings or review a game of your own on your phone in a tournament

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for the great review. We’re happy to hear that ChessBase Mobile is useful alongside the ChessBase software, especially for checking games and openings on the go. That is exactly the kind of workflow we want to support and improve further.

### 5/5 — Slick, Streamlined, Simply Brilliant

*2025-10-17*

As a long-time ChessBase fan (nearly two decades with a premium subscription), I’m genuinely impressed by how refined this new mobile app feels. It’s slick, fast, and beautifully streamlined - everything you’d want from a modern ChessBase experience.

It took a moment to get my bearings, but once I did, I realized just how thoughtfully designed it is. The interface gets out of the way and lets you enjoy what ChessBase does best: delivering world-class games and databases in an elegant, high-quality format.

This is ChessBase at its best - focused, professional, and an absolute joy to use on the go.

**Developer response:** Thank you for this fantastic and detailed review. We’re very happy that ChessBase Mobile fits so well into your chess workflow. Our goal is exactly this: fast access to games, analysis, training and databases in a streamlined mobile experience. Feedback like yours motivates the team a lot.

### 5/5 — Endlich

*2025-05-20, version 1.1*

Klasse umgesetzt
Wenig Aufwand, viele Funtionen. Alles dabei, was man von Chessbase unterwegs braucht.

### 4/5 — Replay Training and Turning off Engine features missing

*2026-05-15*

Great step in the right direction. Chessbase is the best offline professional training tool and am happy there’s an app to support it and I can imagine it’s only going to get better. It’s great to be able to access my games and the database without having to log into my computer.

One of the great features the program has that I think would translate really well to the mobile app is replay training (aka solitaire chess). Chessbase’s version of this type of training is simply the best I have seen as you can get a score and compare against the engine which helps gamify what can otherwise be a difficult task as you’re trying to replicate the moves of a great player. While this exists in the app as Guess Variation, it doesn’t have the scoring and the engine comparison that exists in the program. Would love to see this feature!

Also, I can’t turn off the engine. Shows up as Let’s Check automatically and I often don’t want to see the engine when reviewing games!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the detailed feedback and the great suggestions. We’re glad you enjoy access to your games and databases on mobile. Replay Training with scoring/engine comparison is a very interesting idea for future updates. We also understand the request for better engine control while reviewing games.

### 4/5 — Guter Neustart

*2025-04-15, version 1.0*

Sieht mächtig aus und holt aus dem relativ kleinen Display einiges raus. Die Möglichkeiten gilt es erst einmal zu entdecken, aber für diese Version fraglos: 👍👍👍👍

### 2/5 — Power idea, frustrating interface

*2026-02-17*

Great idea and huge potential, but the app is frustrating to use seriously. It works well for quickly finding and viewing games or checking lines, but using it as an actual portable database is almost impossible. The interface is inconvenient and often non-intuitive. Saving games, organizing them, or building personal databases does not work reliably — as the number of games grows, access to the database simply disappears and only empty loading rows appear. The concept is excellent, but the current implementation makes serious use very difficult.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to write such detailed feedback. You are right: the strength of ChessBase Mobile should be quick access to games, training, analysis and databases without unnecessary friction. The new version is a step in that direction, and we will continue improving navigation, cloud access and game handling. Feedback like yours is extremely useful for prioritizing the next updates.
