## What is Chesswiz?

Chesswiz helps you turn played games into focused chess training.

Import your games from Chess.com and Lichess, review the moments that mattered, and practice the patterns behind your results. Instead of only showing engine numbers, Chesswiz helps you study blunders, missed chances, opening issues, and strategic ideas in a way that is easier to act on.

With Chesswiz you can:

Import and analyze your recent games
Calculate whole lines in your head with Visualize It, then check them against the engine
Review remarkable moves, blunders, missed mates, and time-management mistakes
Practice your openings with structured training
Solve puzzles and replay critical positions from your own games
Train your evaluation skills and calculation
Explore dashboards and analytics to track your progress
Get strategic coaching and deeper position insights
Chesswiz is built for players who want more than a quick engine check. Use it to review your games, find recurring weaknesses, and build better training habits over time.

Chess Wiz Pro is an auto-renewable subscription, available monthly or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. ## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-08

NEW: Visualize It (beta)
Train calculation the way strong players do: in your head. The board stays frozen while you enter whole continuations as arrows. When the round ends, a review grades every line you found or played out, and only then does the engine switch on. Positions come from your own games (one per game, so the deck stays varied) plus a curated set. Free for everyone.
• Blindfold mode: hide the pieces on your turn, or always
• Legal-move highlights are off by default (turn them back on in Settings)
• No clock on screen; your time appears in the round summary
• A cleaner picker with filters that fold away

Game review
• The game timeline now marks where the opening, middlegame and endgame begin

Sharper strategic flashcards
• "Good Decision?" asks only about the move you actually played, and replays the continuation behind each reason
• Outposts are only called out when they are truly permanent
• Trades that take away your opponent's bishop pair are now credited
• Tap a square in the explanation to highlight it on the board

Guess the Evaluation
• Now points out knights and bishops that have nowhere to go

Fixes
• Engine evaluations no longer flip sign while a line is replayed
• Email verification links open correctly

### 1.1 — 2026-09-26

New in ChessWiz 1.1

• Ask "why?": Strategic cards and Guess the Evaluation now ask you to explain your choice. Pick the reasons behind a good move or a position's evaluation, then see which points you spotted.
• A better Why tab: Compare the best line and your line side by side, and reveal each theme (material, pawn structure, pieces) one at a time.
• Sharper strategic feedback: Better detection of missed pawn weaknesses and badly timed exchanges, with clearer explanations.
• Practice at your level: Training now adapts to your player level, with tags and short explainers for each mode.
• Opening training understands move-order transpositions, and you can choose your daily openings for each colour.
• Opponent Scout: Get a report on a rival's repeated mistakes before you play them.
• Share puzzles with a link, a board image or a FEN.
• Game alarms are now unlimited on every plan.
• Bug fixes and performance improvements.
