At times, the app functions as expected, but often it does not. When issues arise, there is no direct way to contact support. Instead, users are left to dig through the Terms of Service or contact a local Chevron gas station for help. Moreover, before the update, there was a weather forecast for the week for my current location, which is now gone. I’ve tried troubleshooting by deleting and reinstalling the app, and signing out and back in, without success. To improve the user experience, I strongly suggest that the developers of this app collaborate with those behind the Chevron Rewards app, which works reliably and provides a much better user experience. I subscribed at my local Chevron. Enrollment went fine but the app activating the car wash did not. You scan a QR code at the kiosk where you would type in a code if purchased inside. The QR code is either bad or something else if off as when I scan it just pops up some text which doesn’t do anything as it’s not a valid link. Tried a couple times with a bunch of cars behind me. Fun. There’s no way to scan the QR code within the app, so if the link doesn’t work you are not getting that car wash. Finally called the store and they gave me a code so kudos to the local station. Its been 3 weeks now, what the heck! She even tried calling the 1800 number and they couldnt help us. What scam!! Ive msged checron thru the app once ans never got an answer. I had to get the code inside the store instead of just scanning from the app. This app is pointless if subscribers had to get out of the car to get the wash code. You always have to go into the station for them to give you a proper wash code. This thing of scanning the QR does not work. The App should just be a code generator, maybe would work then. I would need to drive 20 miles for the next closest location. One place said it had to do with troubles communicating with the new app. Hopefully it resolves soon and there is some sort of compensation for paying for a subscription I can’t even use. ### 1/5 — Automated car wash hours? *2023-07-30, version 5.0.54* Bought the membership to the San Ramon location. The past three times I’ve been there the wash lane was closed off with cones. I finally go in and ask why it’s closed, and they tell me the hours are only open 8am-8pm. Anytime I’ve been here before 8pm there are 5+ cars in line which takes at least 20 minutes. Why can’t I just show up to clean my car after it isn’t so busy??? Makes no sense ### 1/5 — Same issue as others— scanned QR code but no wash *2023-04-09, version 5.0.54* Paid by app. Scanned the code. Got message that car wash was activated. Drove into wash. Nothing. ### 1/5 — Scan the QR code but car wash doesn’t activate *2023-04-07, version 5.0.54* The subscription worked great for the first week. I used the location in San Ramon, CA. Now, I scan the QR code and the wash doesn’t activate. The good news is that the employee inside the store is able to print a code for me to use. The bad news is that they won’t print a code for you in advance without having you wait in line at the car wash first to get a failed activation. I had to wait 10-15 minutes in line before I could scan the QR code, then drive thru the wash without it working, go into the store to show my cell phone, have them print the code, then go back in the car wash line (typically a 10-15 minute wait) then get the wash. I won’t be renewing my subscription until the fix this issue. It isn’t worth my time. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Avoid this app and subscription service at all costs *2026-05-26, version 6.0.19* Chevron’s subscription receipt explicitly says cancellations must be done through the app. The problem is the app locked me out of my account, and support continued billing me anyway. I contacted support multiple times explaining: * I could not access the app * I could not cancel the subscription * I was revoking authorization for future charges Chevron still processed another renewal charge after being notified. Support’s explanation was that installing the app on multiple phones may have caused the lockout. Even if true, that does not justify continuing to bill customers while preventing access to the required cancellation method. A subscription service should never put customers in a position where: 1. cancellation requires the app, 2. the app becomes inaccessible, 3. and billing continues anyway. And why is this separate from the chevron gas app. Absolutely 0 IQ brains at chevron it seems. I’ve been experiencing an ongoing issue with my “The Works” $28/month subscription via the Chevron Car Wash App since December 2024. The tri-color foam feature, which is part of the package, does not activate when using the app. However, it works perfectly when I pay for a single wash without the app. This clearly appears to be an app-related issue. I’ve been paying the full subscription amount while not receiving the full service. All along, I thought the carwash system was defective, but this is an app issue that they fail to address. I went to wash my car and after scanning the QR code the wash never started. I tried it again and the app said that my daily wash had already been used. I told one of the employees at the gas station and they said I was the third person that day that had the same issue.
