I saw an ad for it in July of 2019 in a bus shelter so I figured I’d try again since it was a while ago and surely it works now. WRONG! I went through the trouble of typing up a description of an issue I was trying to report and went to submit and there were errors. Plus it says I’m in the 45th ward but I’m in the 39th. What an embarrassment- we are a world class city and we can’t even get this right. Or is this just a game? Maybe they want us to think they care about residents but really don’t actually give a rip! ### 1/5 — App stopped working *2019-07-28, version 3.0.6* When I first downloaded the app, requests were submitted without a problem. The last couple of months I have been unable to submit any requests. ### 1/5 — Use app called CHI 311 instead!!! *2019-07-25, version 3.0.6* This app is old and no longer supported as of 2019. There is a new app called CHI 311 that replaces it. The developers of this app need to remove it from App Store and put a pop message in this app that redirects the user to CHI 311. Reload page’. Checking past reports - crashed automatically. The second report, of a traffic light, has permanently broken the app. It gives a useless error like “Can’t submit, refresh and try again”. But there is no refresh button! I tried closing the app and killing it (swipe up) to no avail. Every time I open it it auto loads my last information. But I can’t edit or delete it so keep getting the same error. Which means the app is stuck permanently. I waited a couple of weeks in case it was a problem on their server. Today, the app won’t go beyond the “loading” message. Great idea for an app that I would have gladly paid for. I hope someone else makes a better version. ### 1/5 — It doesn’t work! However, now I can no longer submit and it’s incredibly buggy to the point of being barely working. As the last update was for iOS 10 two years ago, I’m guessing this project was abandoned. It’s a shame to live in a great city like Chicago that doesn’t care enough to provide its citizens with a 21st-century solution to reporting problems they experience. ### 1/5 — Broken *2019-10-15, version 3.0.6* Pretty pointless to have this as a platform to submit info if it doesn’t actually let you submit the info. So I requested that it be removed. There was not a branch removal option, but a tree removal option, so I requested under that option which indicated that it was up to 56 days for a “Tree Removal”. I didn't think it would be reviewed quickly and it was. A friend told me about this app and I tried it. Two days later the road was fixed! This app alleviates a lot of headaches, and the City actually responds. Just this past week I used the app to report some graffiti in our alley. GPS showed exactly where I was reporting; after entering some info and attaching a photo, I was done. Best of all, 2 days later the graffiti is gone. I appreciated the fact that there is a section where you can clarify/specify the exact service that you are requesting. I received text messages that my request had been received and that the request had been completed with a ten day turnaround, start to finish. I know of other residents that have found satisfaction using the app to report potholes. This is a very convenient way to communicate City service requests and documented proof that the City is responsive to its residents.
