## Most critical reviews (5 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Garbage.

*2013-04-03*

This app is absolute garbage. I can't imagine it would be difficult to design an app that could recreate the sounds of tubular bells/chimes, so the question is how could this app fail so miserably. First off the app doesn't reposition itself for horizontal view on the iPad, second there is only one sound/tone setting you can use, and third and most importantly the app sounds horrible! MAJOR distortion when attempting to play more then one chime at a time. Seriously for 3 dollars you would think you might actually get something that could handle the limited demands of recreating chime sounds. My only hope is that the company that made this horrible app will make major improvements.

### 1/5 — Intonation

*2011-11-28*

Please fix intonation problem so that the app can be used. I payed good money hoping to be able to use the chimes. Notes go more out of tune as you go up scale. Rating would go up if this prob were fixed.

### 3/5 — Ok but could be better

*2012-07-22*

Good sound but too loud when playing with other music. Would like volume slider. Recording, as stated by developer, is via iPad mic so you get some background hiss and it's fairly quiet. Great graphic but no other pages ie developer contact etc. despite this, developer has put a lot of effort into bringing a range of instruments to the app store itself.

### 4/5 — The app is okay

*2025-10-11*

The app can replicate the sound of the tubular bells/chimes and for three bucks is not bad. I am sad it has been abandoned for years now but it stills holds up well, but my main complaint is not being able to play multiple chimes at a time or being able to switch the set of chimes being able to make them chrome for a different sound but for three bucks and on mobile This app is worth it if you can’t afford real chimes or if you need to practice a chimes part but don’t have one at home this is a good option.

### 5/5 — Quality

*2011-06-21*

As with other Yuji SS percussion instruments I've tried, Chimes has high quality, true to the instrument sound. Touch and response is accurate and quick. Definitely worth the price. Feel confident to purchase the other Yuji SS percussion instruments as well (except the wind chimes and harp, which I haven't found to be true to sound.)
