This is the perfect app for practicing writing in Chinese. 
- It supports simplified as well as traditional characters (good for those of us studying for travel in Taiwan who usually get left out). 
- It has a large dictionary of words so you won't run out of words to practice like many other similar apps. 
- The practice mode is very helpful, and the test mode allows you to use the Leitner System, which is a great way to make sure you're reviewing the words that are hardest for you. 
- The online documentation is extensive, and the creator is great about answering questions if you contact her.

Highly recommended!

Vokabeltraining ist zum Erlernen jeder Sprache essentiell. 
Die Chance eigene Sets aus einem ganzen Wörterbuch zu erstellen ist dabei eine riesige Hilfe. 
In diesem Zusammenhang die Strichfolge der einzelnen Silben gleich mit geliefert zu bekommen, 
macht das Programm fast perfekt. 
Mir fehlen zwei wichtige Funktionen: 
1. Die Aussprache jedes Wortes hörbar zu bekommen, einschließlich Testfunktion.
2. eine größeren Wortschatz aus zusammengesetzten Silben. Und Standardformulierungen.
Na und wenn durchgängig die Übersetzungen in Deutsch und Englisch eingebaut wären ...
Alles in Allem aber eine gute Investition!
Ich hoffe, an der Perfektionierung  wird weiter gearbeitet!

More words
Multi-character words
Numerous, almost mind-boggling options.
Let's you train pinyin to character, English to character, or character to English/pinyin. Literally every option one could think of. Even simplified or traditional characters!!
My only complaint, as my Chinese girlfriend has shown me, is sometimes the stroke order seems to be wrong, but I can't remember any examples. :(

My only real beef is the words are not ordered by subjects. For example, by food/directions/ etc. Word order seems rather random.  If this could somehow be fixed, by creating some ordered training program by subject area, thus would be the must have Chinese language app.

Regardless, Really a massive, quality product, which deserves a lot of respect and use.

I've installed every Chinese learning app I heard of and this one is by far the best. It takes some time to get used to it, but it's definitelly worth it.

Dieses Programm überzeugt mich sehr. Das Wörterbuch allein ist für nur 79 Cent phänomenal. Hinzu kommt der Übungs- und Testmodus, der viele Methoden des Lernens ermöglicht. Außerdem lernt man, wenn man die Zeichen auf den Bildschirm malt, multi-sensorisch, was nicht nur Spaß macht, sondern auch effektiv ist. Auch positiv hervorzuheben ist die schnelle Abfrage der gemalten Striche; man hat also wirklich das Gefühl, den Strich auf den iPod zu machen, da keine Verzögerung dieses Gefühl stört. Das Leitner-System mit seinen verschiedenen Schubladen macht überdies auf das Gedächtnis abgestimmte Wiederholung von Zeichen möglich. Wirklich toll!
Ich habe seit einem Jahr regelmäßig mit iChinese gearbeitet, aber dafür sind ja seit Langem keine neuen Lektionen mehr herausgekommen. Mit dieser Chinesisch-App hingegen kann man sich seine Lektionen selbst erstellen, was sehr sinnvoll und praktisch ist. Zwar wird nicht wie bei iChinese vom Programm ermittelt, inwieweit die gemachten Zeichen dem Ideal entsprechen, doch diese Überprüfung kann der Mensch ohnehin viel besser als die Maschine. Lediglich das Fehlen einiger Strichfolgen muss noch verbessert werden, um das Programm zur besten Chinesisch-App zu machen.
Letztlich ist "Chinesisch" eine tolle Sache und nicht nur wegen des Preises ein Pflichtkauf.

Très bonne application. Appréciable de pouvoir tagger les caractères appris. Juste un peu dommage que l'entraînement ne propose pas de catégorie lexicale (Les animaux, Les parties du corps...)

Sehr gutes App! Großes Wörterbuch mit sehr sehr sehr vielen Chinesischen Wörtern ( ACHTUNG : NUR SCHRIFTZEICHEN!) Dafür aber ausführliche Übersetzung, Radikalerklärung und und und...
Tests, wo man zeichen aufmalen muss - kann man erst nach viel Üben machen.
Unter "Browser" ist das Wörterbuch.
Die beste Rubrik ist "Üben", dort kann man die Schriftzeichen einfach nachmalen und auch die Übersetzung sehen.

Teure App die nicht einmal die Audioaufnahmen kostenfrei zur Verfügung stellt, die garantiert überall kostenfrei im Internet zur Verfügung stehen. Außerdem ist der Programmierer der App nicht bemüht oder fähig die Funktion der In-App Käufe richtig zu implementieren, sodass man diese nutzen kann. Wer kein Geld verdienen will, der kann ruhig so weiter machen!

**Developer response:** Mit dem Release von Version 3.0 wurde der Preis gesenkt und Audioausgabe kostenlos integriert.

Entgegen der Beschreibung ist das Programm nicht komplett auf deutsch, sprich einige Vokabeln sind nur Auf englisch übersetzt, so kann meine Tochter das Programm leider nicht benutzen - schade ums Geld 😠

**Developer response:** Die App hat für ca. die Hälfte der enthaltenen Wörter eine dt. Übersetzung. Sorry das dies nicht in früheren Versionen der App-Beschreibung aufgeführt war. Ich habe den Text entsprechend angepasst. 
Des weiteren hat der User die Möglichkeit seine eigene Übersetzung einzufügen. Wenn er z.B. die identische Übersetzung des Lehrbuches verwenden möchte anstatt der des App-Wörterbuches. Auch können seit Version 3.0 Notizen/Eselsbrücken hinzugefügt werden.

Ich finde die App ist viel zu teuer, es gibt Milliarden kostenlose Programme im Internet um chinesisch zu lernen und die viel mehr Möglichkeiten bieten. Einige Wörter stimmen überhaupt nicht , fuer einige gibt es gar keine Übersetzung auf deutsch. Also ich habe mehr von diesem program erwarten. Ich wuerde es nicht empfehlen

**Developer response:** Der Preis wurde mit Version 3.0 gesenkt. Zusätzlich wurde Audioausgabe kostenlos integriert.

For the price I think a lot could be fixed or added to this app. It needs a landscape mode for the iPad and less forgiving practice modes (i.e. The app doesn't recognise whether one has made a genuine stroke versus whether one has written a series of dots). I have a Japanese app that was half the price that has true stroke recognition.

this could be a great app if the characters were the right ones. so many characters are missing strokes, strokes are too long/short, etc. fix them!

Too expensive for what you get.  $5 would be a better price.  Good interface, very good content in terms of number of characters and organization, good testing stats.  Minor irritant is that the application doesn't indicate when an error is made in a stroke.  Major irritant, is errors in the character strokes and in stroke order. So far, I have found over 9% of the character strokes to be in the incorrect order or incorrect in quantity (2 strokes combined as one, or vice versa).  Have also found inconsistencies - for example, a radical that is correct in strokes on one character and incorrect in strokes on the other.   Developer doesn't seem interested in criticism or suggestions for changes.

**Developer response:** Price was lowered with Version 3.0. Also Audio-Output was added for free.

Positiv muss man sagen, dass das Programm sehr umfangreich ist,sehr viele Wörter, aber es fehlt eine Struktur , die Wörter sind nicht geordnet und die Vokabel "ich" habe ich noch nicht entdeckt.Völlig ungeeignet für Anfänger. Bei diesem für Apps sehr hohen Preis kann man weit mehr erwarten. Ich hoffe auf Updates, aber bis jetzt finde ich es schade um mein Geld.

Works well.  I am hoping for an option to use the traditional Chinese characters as they have historical and anthropological significance and are used in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and other locales.

**Developer response:** In current version you can switch between Traditional and Simplified characters. (Settings->Misc->Character Standard)

I was after an inexpensive app to get me off and running on Chinese characters.  This app, which enables listening as well as 
character-stroke practice, fits the bill perfectly. Well done to the developers!

Excellent app mais qui garde une interface en anglais pour les traduction. 
Possède des petits jeux simples mais efficaces pour apprendre les 400 caractères minimaux pour le premier seuil intéressant vers une compréhension courante du chinois !!!

I have used this app daily for two year, more than any other app I have bought for any reason. It is the best!  I add my own character sets to follow along with the Heisig method and separate ones for my college class.  It is my secret weapon for acing every vocab quiz we get.  This app has paid for itself many times over.  When I started learning Chinese I felt it would be a coup just to learn to read and listen.  I never thought I would be able to WRITE Chinese. But now I am well on my way to doing that thanks to this app.

Le dictionnaire est extrêmement complet. Il contient des locutions en plus des mots. Donne accès direct au système d'apprentissage des caractères, qui est le réel avantage de cette application par rapport à bien d'autres. Ce n'est pas un gadget avec qq. dizaines de caractères. Cette application utilisée àfond les fonctionnalités de l.ipad et on apprend!

Ich benutze die App regelmässig als Ergänzung zum Unterricht. Insbesondere die Vorgabe der Strich-Reihenfolge erleichtert das Lernen erheblich und hat meine Schreibgeschwindigkeit deutlich gesteigert. Habe den Leistungsumfang der App noch nicht in vollem Umfang nutzen können, die aufgezeigten Möglichkeiten lassen mich jedoch hoffen, dass ich die App noch sehr lange nutzen werde.

I used the Japanese and Kanji LS apps by Jan Bogner when I was taking Japanese in college and I probably used these apps more than my book. 

When I decided to pick up some Chinese, I looked for a similar app that had custom word lists, definitions and handwriting practice and quizzing all in the same app. I was pretty happy to find another LS app.

Overpriced, but excellent app.

This app is GREAT!  I have been trying to learn Chinese for about 18 months on-and-off and I have spent hundreds of dollars on audio CDs and book.  This app is a steal at the current price.  For one, it has so many characters (over 5000) and they are organized to the HSK 1-6 which is really convenient.  But the best part is the tests.  You can test yourself in 5 different test formats to ensure that you really know the characters, can define the, and know which character is missing in a phrase.  I wish that I had this app 18 months ago but at least I found it now.  Cheers!
