It is much more useful than just learning the pinyin. I use this app every time I study nearly every day. I use many different apps to learn Mandarin Chinese, and sometimes the same word can sound very different to me depending on the person speaking it (even in the same conversation in the same app) man vs woman or just in general. My airpods by that i mean. At the moment i was baking cookies 😋but i tested it out now that im free. No the audio does not play without a bluetooth device for hearing it. But i can hear the sound now that i have my airpods connected. The obly problem is fixing sounds for when bluetooth isnt connected so people can hear whenever. So every day in addition to my other Mandarin Chinese studies I spend 15 or or more minutes using this app. I especially like the way in the quiz where you compare two different words it lets you hear how both words are supposed to sound after you make your choice between the two. I would gladly and ungratefully pay for a virgin that is ad-free.
