### 5/5 — Best way to get Twitter on your Apple Watch

*2019-12-27, version 2.0.1*

I’ve used Chirp for a while now, and I have to say, it’s the best way to get Twitter on your Apple Watch.

Chirp has more features than any of the other apps I’ve tested. You’re getting probably the best Twitter experience possible on such a small screen. More features are always coming, and the new 2.0 update really makes things even better. Even if it stopped being updated now, it would still be very complete.

If you have an issue, the developer, Will Bishop, will be quick to help. At his age, it’s impressive that he can keep three Apple Watch apps updated, and make all three great. When there’s a bug, if you report it to him, you’ll for sure see it fixed soon.

I know some people don’t like this app because of Chirp Pro, but it’s completely worth it to get. The developer completely deserves your money. And, hey, it’s an app without ads; you should be happy there’s even a free option that gives you many of the standard features.

I love using Chirp on my Apple Watch, and I’m excited to see what comes in its future. This app completely deserves all five stars. If you’re looking for a Twitter app for your Apple Watch, look no farther than Chirp.

### 5/5 — Fills a big need

*2019-12-27, version 2.0.1*

I have used this app since it came out and it is wonderful! It allows an easy way to follow my timeline on my watch, and the developer is very responsive. Thanks for all of the work! It might be my favorite app on my watch.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2019-12-26, version 2.0.1*

I just got an Apple Watch and wanted to see if I could check social media on it. I found this app and downloaded it. It’s awesome! Great quality and I still can’t believe I can watch videos so clearly on my Apple Watch! I would really recommend chirp pro, it’s great and lets you stay connected away from your phone. I have no bad things to say about this app, it’s just too awesome!

### 5/5 — Love Love Love this app!!!

*2019-12-25, version 2.0.1*

Twitter is the most important app on my phone because it is how I communicate with my colleagues online and find important event dates, etc. I recently got an apple watch and this was really helpful in my adjustment. I cannot get enough and hope this dev. goes on to create even more great things!! ♥️

### 5/5 — Good app

*2019-12-12, version 2.0.1*

Chirp is one of the most amazing Apple Watch apps out there. I hope the work that is done on this app inspires other much bigger developers to make apps for it. It’s kinda funny that an indie developer is doing so much more than real companies for the Apple Watch. Amazing App!

### 5/5 — The model for Apple Watch developers

*2019-12-08, version 2.0.1*

Say what you will about the Apple Watch, the apps for it leaves something to be desired. But every once in a while we get treated to the cream of the crop.

I consider myself an Apple Watch expert. I run the world’s largest Flipboard magazine devoted to the Apple Watch as well as the most popular Facebook Apple Watch and Apple Watch groups. I was also the world’s first iPhone blogger going back to 2007, so I feel confident when I leave reviews.

Chirp is, without a doubt, the best of the best when it comes to Apple Watch apps. Not only did Will take a difficult app (Twitter) to turn into this crowd jewel, but he’s a teenager!!!! I mean, seriously ... how can you say one negative about this app? If something is wrong and it’s in his control to fix it, he’ll fix it and, knowing him, he’ll resubmit the app to Apple to get it reapproved so you see it ASAP.

You should not only support developers of this magnitude, you should pay for the pro version to ensure he can continue to develop at this level. Believe me, you don’t want the alternatives which often involve expensive yearly subscriptions.

Take a look around the App Store and try to find reviews so glowing written by me. You might find one or two, but I don’t believe in giving credit unless it’s credit that’s really due.

Will represents the best of all of us and his work is what every other developer should strive for.

5 stars, only because 20 stars is not currently an option.

### 5/5 — Great twitter client for Apple Watch

*2019-12-08, version 2.0.1*

Does everything it says. I really like having access to “trending” and “List” via Apple Watch. So far, I haven’t encountered any issues. Chirp loads the screens fast on my Series 4. I’m happy with my purchase. Going to check out Nano and MiniWiki next.

### 5/5 — Awesome!!

*2019-12-05, version 1.2.2*

The fact that this developer actually took the time to make this app since twitter pulled out of Apple Watch. The app itself is really responsive! Bought the pro so that I could post tweets on the go. You can even watch short clips on your timelines as well. ❤️❤️ Amazing as it is already :)

### 5/5 — Surprisingly full featured watch twitter app from dev of MiniWiki

*2019-07-20, version 1.2.2*

I didn’t think I’d use this app as much as I do. Perfect for quick posts and message checks, but I’m impressed about the smoothness of the experience for more complex twitter tasks too. Similarly the Mini-Wiki app from the same dev adds Wikipedia to my wrist in a “wow that’s actually REALLY useful” way. How about a Sonos app for Apple Watch now dev???

### 5/5 — Extremely Nice App for Twitter

*2019-04-14, version 1.2.1*

I’m always a little skeptical these days about apps for social media.

However!!! This developer has seemingly got this right to the point where I didn’t mind paying for the pro features and helping support this app and the developer.

When an app is this good, it deserves to be support financially and with downloading it for use.

Some of the first things I checked out was:

1. How often is the app updated and supported by the developer.

2. Issues with how the app operates on my iOS devices.

3. Developers response time and efforts to help the customer with their product.

4. How intuitive it is to use the app.

5. Does the app function as described.

Rarely! I mean rarely! Do I get very excited about an app like this but the answer to the above 5 points is affirmative! This developer has done an excellent job with his app and he supports it frequently with updates. The developer also responds to people’s responses and concerns.

The app functions as advertised and I have been using the heck out of it on my Apple Watch series 4.

Really nice app for Twitter and love the features and the bell that goes off when I’m checking out my tweets.

I just cannot get over how well this app looks and functions on my Apple Watch.

Good job Mr. Developer. LOL.

PS. Make an app for FaceBook!!!!!!!! Please!!

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2019-03-19, version 1.2.1*

Just got the watch and didn't know the social medias don't work on it. I was a little disappointed until I found the Twitter app! It works great and the creator is really good about answering questions! Definitely worth the purchase (and tip if you can)!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — A bug?

*2021-08-02, version 2.0.6*

I switched accounts, and for some reason the app started acting weird after that- I am guessing it's because of the account that i'm using; it only follows one person. The app is acting weird because the it shows only three tweets out of so many available, and when I tap "Load more" it doesn't do anything. After a few time of doing that, it then says something like " oops, you have done too many of that" over and over again.

I actually like the app to the extent that I have bought all the available buyable extras. I was hoping that by this rating somehow I reach to the developer.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time

*2019-12-26, version 2.0.1*

Uninstalled after 5 minutes. The app constantly force closes and majority of the features you’d want it for are unviable in the free version. Other reviewers state the same crashing even after they paid for the full version. Also they ask you to buy the developers cups of coffee lol “to further support them”. So ironic since you can tell they hardly work on the software from reading the other reviews. Don’t download!

### 2/5 — DMs don’t work

*2022-10-16, version 2.0.7*

No judgment on the quality of the app for those it works for, but I subscribed two years ago and the DM functionality has never once worked right. On my old Apple Watch it only ever displayed two DMs in my history, and on the new one it claims there are none and endlessly loads. Being able to read and write DMs on my watch is basically the only reason I paid for the app, so this is disappointing.

### 3/5 — Why can’t I see my messages

*2022-07-25, version 2.0.7*

I bought the 3.99 version because I wanted to be able to view my twitter messages but when I open the app it says I don’t even have any but I know that I do. What gives? I’m feeling mislead because if the feature isn’t working why advertise it?

### 4/5 — Mostly great!

*2023-06-25*

I use the Apple Watch series 8. When I click on pictures most of them go to a black screen. I can only full screen a small fraction of pictures for some reason, but every video seems to full screen just fine. I’m not sure if it’s a resolution issue or the aspect ratios that are used. If I could full screen every picture then this would be 5 stars in my opinion.

### 4/5 — good but…

*2021-12-25, version 2.0.6*

It’s a pretty good app, i love seeing tweets from my wrist, it’s just the app crashes and i can only see one reply under tweets which can’t be true because a popular tweet should have more than 1 reply, once the crashing and replies are fixed, it will be 5 stars 😊💗

### 4/5 — Choosing things

*2020-04-29, version 2.0.5*

The only problem I have and I mean the only problem, is every time I click on “my profile” is crashes the app on the watch. Was wondering if there is a way to fix this on my end or do I just have to deal with it?

### 4/5 — I don’t normally use third party app for social media

*2019-12-11, version 2.0.1*

In this case I was looking for a free basic app (you can pay for upgrades) to try out on my watch since I can’t always pull my phone out.

This app had a few hiccups getting set up. It was minor, only took an extra few minutes to follow the instructions for such an occurrence. It works fine on my series 3 watch running OS 6. It is especially cool because it plays video and I haven’t found many apps that play videos.

Good app so far.

### 4/5 — Pretty good but I have questions

*2019-08-31, version 1.2.2*

It works just fine! But to have access to a lot of stuff you need to buy something. But I can answer DMs fine and scroll through my time line. But as a kpop fan I’m constantly looking up different groups accs and I’m willing to buy the upgrade but I wanna know if it’s a monthly thing or you pay once and you have it forever. But overall a good app

### 4/5 — Great Twitter app for Apple Watch

*2019-01-16, version 1.1.8*

Great app in regard to what all you can do with the Apple Watch. Love that you can do almost everything that you can do with the official Twitter iPhone app. Only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is that after buying pro my existing DMs don’t show up and I can’t share tweets with existing group chats that are in my DMs. I’m sure there will be more accessibility as time goes on and updates are made though! Definitely worth the money

**Developer response:** I wish I could add group chats as well but it’s a Twitter API limitation unfortunately :(

Sorry about that

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2023-01-31, version 2.0.7*

I really do like this app. Very full featured. I got a specific keyboard to use with this app but that didn’t work out well. Surprised Twitter hasn’t shut this app down yet, unlike most third party apps. Hope they can keep this one going.

### 5/5 — Great app for a platform I’m no longer using.

*2021-01-18, version 2.0.6*

If you’re staying on Twitter, and you have an iPhone and Apple Watch, then by all means this is a must have. Wil is a great developer- I’m amazed that he started turning out this kind of quality when he was in high school. (The most I ever managed was that hangman program for my Pascal class...)
I, for one, have left Twitter because I disagree with their arbitrary and capricious behavior. It was fun while it lasted. But hopefully Wil will add to his repertoire of apps in the future.

### 5/5 — Better than expected

*2021-01-10, version 2.0.5*

I thought this would be a app like Twitter crammed into a watch app but it’s very clean and very fast and I’m on a Series 3! I love how cheap chirp pro is and NO SUBSCRIPTION I really don’t want a subscription for Twitter but one small payment is so nice! This app is amazing simple and fast! Highly reckoned for people who use Twitter and can use it secretly 🤫 wherever

### 5/5 — Short and Sweet

*2021-01-10, version 2.0.5*

Enhances the entire Twitter experience on Apple Watch. You can watch Twitter linked videos and a text-version of any website, right on the watch and directly through the watch app.

Sometimes your somewhere and you don’t want to pull your phone out, but you want to get your Twitter fix, this app does it perfectly. Definitely 5-stars!

### 5/5 — Perfect for convenience!

*2020-10-03, version 2.0.5*

Love how I can tweet from my Apple Watch. This developer is a genius and it doesn’t go unnoticed 👌🏼 I actually stumbled across this app cuz he tweeted a friend and I after we told Apple to make a Twitter app for the watch haha so props to your grind and intelligence! 10/10 for the app. And don’t complain about paying for the pro version it’s a 1 time payment and you get a choice of how much you wanna pay.

### 5/5 — Solid Replacement for Twitter Client on Watch

*2020-05-03, version 2.0.5*

I use this app on my watch whenever I don’t have my phone handy and you would guess that it’s an official client with how smooth it works. It seems difficult to tweet without something like FlickType in addition but the interface is buttery smooth. If you love swiping through new tweets and don’t have access to your phone, this is the app for you!

### 5/5 — Buy it!

*2020-02-29, version 2.0.4*

This is worth every penny you think it’s worth. The app developer gives you different options of price as per everyone’s taste. Also if you buy the app and don’t buy the color option please don’t talk to me. :)

### 5/5 — Crashing A lot

*2020-01-17, version 2.0.2*

Hey there! Just bought Chirp for my watch! Videos work, but anytime I click a picture to view, the whole app crashes, when I search people and use the flik keyboard, it crashes, when I go to my DM’s it crashes, please help me :)

### 5/5 — Good

*2020-01-15, version 2.0.1*

Hey bud I’m enjoying the app a few things I would like to see if possible, when I go into my direct messages not all threads are shown if that any I have about 6 direct message threads would like to see all my messages appear in chirp

### 5/5 — Fills watch Twitter gap nicely

*2019-12-27, version 2.0.1*

I’ve used Chirp since Twitter left the watch and upgraded to pro with color. I think some of reviews aren’t fair. The app was slow, but the developer addressed that on v2.0. It is free and developer responsive to input via Twitter, including 2.0 crashes, fix coming. He took my logs from twitter comment and didn’t have to do that. I think he will keep improving the app. It has more features than Jay, which is why I went back to Chirp despite the slow performance of V1.0.
