Bird identification highly doubtful. It’s already seized up after a day. **Developer response:** Thanks for trying ChirpOMatic. The 10-second limit is intentional — it’s usually enough for an accurate ID while keeping things quick and efficient. The app has since been updated, so you should find it runs more smoothly now. If you do run into any problems, please contact me at spiny@spinysoftware.com. ### 1/5 — Processing too long *2024-12-27* Gave up after 20 minutes while it was “processing”. Tried to identify a few time with a wait time so long (half an hour) that I gave up. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work in Australia *2024-07-31* I record birds that I see and it always comes up with 3 different birds. Doesn’t even have well known birds like the Cassowary. Waste of time and money. **Developer response:** Hi Brentm - The version of the app that you were using was designed for NSW and Victoria, so didn't cover the area where the Cassowary lives. We've now expanded the app to cover the whole of Australia, so please give it another go! ### 1/5 — Fatally flawed *2023-12-26* I would say this is an altogether useless app A 10 second recording duration is of no use when trying to capture intermittent bird call Hugely disappointed with this ### 1/5 — Still Processing 30 minutes later *2023-12-21* After half an hour the app is still processing the recording, caught in some sort of loop. Not sure whether it will ever stop. Disappointing. ### 2/5 — Not up to scratch *2024-07-29* I'm in FNQ atm. The app identified a brown cuckoo dove as a boobook owl. Many local birds had no suggestions. **Developer response:** Hi AnnElizabethMc - I'm sorry the app didn't help you. The version you were using was designed for NSW and Victoria, so didn't cover FNQ.
