I paid $1,260 for a 3-year contract but canceled after just 3 months. I was told I would receive a prorated refund, yet they only refunded a fraction of the cost. They deducted $260 in "fees"—claiming $35/month for 3 months plus a $135 "claim value" fee—even though I NEVER filed a single claim or received any service. This hidden fee was never disclosed during sign-up. This feels like a deceptive way to keep customer money. If you cancel early, do not expect a fair prorated refund. Buyer beware ### 1/5 — Worst company ever *2026-08-13, version 20.0.8* They don’t have any agents to follow up with any simple task you ask for. I requested for someone to come out to assess my AC. Almost a week after they still don’t have an agent to come out and access the problem. And the hardest part is when you try to cancel the policy it’s hopeless they keep transferring and putting you on hold and they never call you back. Talk about a waste of time and money. ### 1/5 — I paid $1,755. And my very first claim was denied. *2026-07-17, version 20.0.8* Terrible company. I feel like I wasted $1,755. ### 4/5 — 1st Claim. Refrigerator *2026-07-09, version 20.0.8* This is my First Claim since having Choice Home Warranty. What a horrible experience in has been ! Correspondence is almost impossible, I was offered a low ball offer for a replacement refrigerator , and was told it would come in the form of a Lowe’s gift card. They push you to immediately accept their offer. The case manager was very rude, when I finally got to talk to him. I could go on & on , but I am so frustrated , I could scream !! I’m so sorry I ever changed to this company from AHS , they are a total ripoff. ### 1/5 — Horrible service *2026-07-06, version 20.0.8* My AC went out and they assigned me to Sears and they canceled my service request without talking to me and then when I tried to reschedule I couldn’t get anyone on the phone to speak to. Their AI agent was terrible and the chat feature was zero help. This has been the worst customer service experience I’ve had in many years. I would t recommend them to my worst enemy. ### 5/5 — Best Home Warranty *2026-06-15, version 20.0.8* I placed a claim for my washing machine and Choice Home Warranty sent an appliance repair guy to my house within a couple of days and he was able to complete my repair right away! My parents have them too and have had great experiences!x ### 1/5 — Waste of time and money *2026-05-11, version 26.0.6* The application is easy to use and works well, but the service provided by the company is not worth it. They do not have enough technicians in the NY area, and it can take more than a week to get a response from an electrician. I opened a claim last month for an exhaust fan issue, and they sent someone who claimed to be an electrician, but he did not even know how to use a tester. I ended up paying him as well. Later, the company denied my claim based on the statement provided by that technician. You can open a claim, but it rarely gets approved or fixed properly. It is better to hire an electrician directly, which will save you both time and frustration. ### 1/5 — Sewage system *2026-04-29, version 26.0.6* Filed a request to have the sewage ejector pump replaced It’s 20 some years old and alarm keeps going off They sent a contractor and he looked at it and reported back to the company CHW keeps saying it’s a sump pump but it is not !!!! It’s a sewage pump . Still trying to get SOMEONE to listen and realize what it is !! Regret singing with Choise Home Warranty !!
