### 2/5 — “Sellout”

*2026-07-24, version 5.2.5*

Sure wish the app icon wasn’t woke.

### 3/5 — It’s okay

*2026-05-02, version 5.1.1*

I had this app a while back and I was obsessed with playing the interactive fictions on it!! I couldn’t pay for much but they had a good variety of free games to play so I didn’t really care. I came back recently to find that they offer way more games, but not a lot of free options at all. Most of the games range from $7 and up, and there’s like 10 games f2p, which was disappointing. I’m glad they’re moving on up though.

### 4/5 — Awesome, Now Just Fix Purchase Restoration, Maybe Add Progress Sync

*2026-04-24*

So pleased you added a button to download all games as I wished in my previous review. This app is certainly the way to play on iOS now, however something you've done in the remake has broken purchase restoration. If you already bought the game and it's in your account, it should just be restored; instead, it prompts for Apple account password, fails the restoration, fails to notice it's already signed in, demands you sign in, and finally restores your purchase. I do hope this isn't a deliberate choice because I do value being able to play in a web browser on desktop as well. Please fix.

### 4/5 — In app purchases

*2026-04-05, version 5.1.0*

I have played this game for over a year now and loved it. However, recently any in app purchase I made, like cheats, does not work. Again, the app is still very fun, but I like to be able to use the abilities that I buy!

### 4/5 — Wonderful stories, good app. Needs loads and saves

*2026-02-05, version 5.1.0*

I recently started playing Choice of Games. I enjoy the usability of this app. It’s super easy to use. The authors are good and I enjoy playing their stories when they capture me. My biggest critique agrees with a consensus that Choice of Games could really use load and save features so that players can change actions without needing to speed replay the entire game. Dungeons & Decisions by Delight Games shows a good example of this feature in use.

### 5/5 — Fun break from reality

*2026-01-01, version 5.0.2*

Brings back fond memories of reading the old Choose Your Own Adventure in the school library in elementary school.

### 3/5 — Content is great, app is eh

*2025-12-12, version 5.0.1*

I love these games!!!

But please let me drop straight back in and not need to see basically a page of ads before I do each time. At least give us an opt out option.

It’s quite embarrassing to open the app to a big cheerleader, romance picture, etc

### 3/5 — Love it but one problem

*2025-12-09, version 5.0.1*

Love the app and the stories but after the most recent update the in game/story stat bar thing was moved from the left side to the right which I find really annoying and I was wondering if there’s a way to move it back plus the buttons on it haven’t worked very well since it was moved

### 3/5 — Update Broke It

*2025-11-27, version 5.0.1*

I love this app, but the most recent update seems to have broken something. It kept giving me some sort of graphics error between every page, and I realized after checking the settings that the animation between pages seems to be the culprit.

### 2/5 — broken update

*2025-11-13, version 5.0.0*

long time user, new update has made the app unusable for me. every time i go to the next page the previous pages text stays and covers the new page. can’t figure out how to fix.

### 4/5 — Love it but one problem

*2025-11-13, version 5.0.0*

Love the app and the stories but after the most recent update the in game/story stat bar thing was moved from the left side to the right which I find really annoying and I was wondering if there’s a way to move it back

### 5/5 — Love Choice Games; the app is just alright lol

*2025-09-21, version 4.1.7*

I am a big fan of the Choice Games brand, including the Choice of Games line. I’ve purchased quite a few of their books, and for the most part, consider all my purchases to be well worth it. I also really like reading all their titles on one app like this, and prefer to continue buying the books here instead of on individual apps/on steam/elsewhere. However — the app is notably very old, and hasn’t seen new features in years. There are a lot of cool things that could be done with a central Choice Games hub like this (at the very least — let us save snapshots of our character pages, and organize our books!) and I wish we would we more development for the app itself! I think a lot more people would use the app if there were compelling advantages to purchasing the books on here.

### 3/5 — More free stuff? 👉👈🥺

*2025-09-02, version 4.1.7*

lol it’s like the greatest app ever but it only has limited free options and only a few good ones in the slim pickings, and other than that every story costs from $5-10… yah I can’t go around spending that much on a few little book thingys… please make it more fun and accessible for those with limited money! Thanks! 💅💅💅

### 5/5 — Good

*2025-06-05, version 4.1.5*

I’ve used this app for a very long time and it is amazing. It is a perfect tool as a hub for a majority of interactive fiction games. It also provides updates on the novels while keeping people who use it informed of new happenings in the community.

### 5/5 — Sequel please

*2025-06-01, version 4.1.3*

You get to sample the stories before you buy them, which, 10/10 for a good hook, and the option to sample before you buy. Personally I’ve really enjoyed Pendragon Rising- and would absolutely adore a sequel!! Wish I could review the individual story! It’s really enjoyable. I also wish I could see all the different achievements I could accomplish in the game to aim for certain outcomes.

Pls pls pls make a sequel!

### 5/5 — Love love love CoG

*2025-05-11, version 4.1.3*

I’ve loved choice of games since I got my first android device back in 2014, so glad it’s still around for me to enjoy as an adult. Simple app mechanics, great stories!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Trash company

*2026-06-28, version 5.2.5*

Choice of games disgust on a level that I cannot express here. Hopefully they go bankrupt. I hope.

### 1/5 — They used to make good stuff

*2026-02-09, version 5.1.0*

I used to love the stuff they’d put out but it’s been terrible for years now.

### 1/5 — Too much gay stuff

*2026-01-30, version 5.1.0*

The old stuff is good but now it’s just SJW garbage

### 1/5 — Great content, terrible store

*2025-11-11, version 5.0.0*

This is a storefront for great choose your own adventures, but one that makes it next to impossible to identify what content is worth your time.

You cannot rate a game until you finish it, which biases every game to the upper end of the rating scale, with almost everything being between 4.6 and 4.8, a scale so compressed as to be worthless. You can’t even change your ratings for games you rated without replaying them, even as your experience broadens. There are also no written reviews. The only way to get useful information is to check out the steam pages of games you’re interested in, which are much more helpful.

It’s also terrible for managing your collection, with no way to group titles by series, or even in order.

In desperate need of an option to tie its theme to the system so as to automate switching between light and dark.

### 1/5 — Accessibility fail

*2025-04-06, version 4.1.3*

No screen-reader functionality built it. The work around is so cumbersome as to be useless 😕

### 1/5 — DO NOT PURCHASED!!!

*2024-02-15, version 3.8.2*

GAME IS A SCAM MAKES YOU PAY 5$ FOR LIKE 10 MORE PAGES TOTALLY GETTING A REFUND THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE SCAM!

### 1/5 — No way to remove the ads

*2023-12-09, version 3.7.5*

This would be really neat with a better monetization strategy.

### 1/5 — Sad. Used to love this app

*2023-07-26, version 3.7.5*

As a long time user and HUGE fan of choice of games and hosted games the new updates to the app and how everything is layed out really puts me off from using this app ever again. Even more, as an old user of the app I’ve lost all access to all my previously purchased stories. Wanted to come back and restart but looks like choice of games isn’t what it was when they first started

### 1/5 — Great content, terrible store

### 1/5 — Waiting for July

*2023-06-09*

Just deleted the app. I’ll come back next month, maybe…

### 5/5 — heroes of tomorrow story

*2026-03-11, version 5.1.0*

It was very interesting. I love the detail in the fight scenes, as well as in the more personal emotional scenes. I like stories with heroes in it and this is one of the best I’ve played.

### 5/5 — Insanely goated

*2026-03-04, version 5.1.0*

Endlessly replayable with a ton of stories that could tickle anyone’s fancy. Tons of incredibly talented writers contribute to this app, check a few of them out!!

### 5/5 — A standout among superhero games

*2026-03-01, version 5.1.0*

The superhero genre and Choice of Games make a great match. Alt-history, origin stories, and training have all been good fodder for games, and this game brings the best of all of them.

### 5/5 — Loved it

*2026-02-26, version 5.1.0*

Pleasant surprise
