### 5/5 — Great Game

*2016-11-16, version 1.2.0*

It had me captivated

### 5/5 — My favorite Choice game

*2016-09-11, version 1.2.0*

This interactive story of demonic office politics is a delight, at times creepy and at times hilarious. The writing is top notch, even by the high standards of this developer, and this particular story should make anyone who's worked in a law firm smirk (or sigh) at the accuracy of its details.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2016-06-14, version 1.2.0*

Very good story, characters and the decisions always felt difficult and rewarding

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2016-04-21, version 1.2.0*

This is a hilarious, well-plotted, and intricately designed game. Features include a surprisingly fun and complex stat-raising system, good replay value, and both subtle and large consequences to your choices. 10/10; would become an undead abomination again

### 5/5 — awesome game

*2016-04-05, version 1.2.0*

i just love this game. i can't stop playing it.

### 5/5 — Pleasantly surprised

*2016-01-04, version 1.2.0*

Lawyers, ibankers, and even management consultants may find this one a little close to home, and I'd recommend they try it even if they're not into videogames. It's basically just a choose your own adventure book set in a law firm not unlike Wolfram & Hart in the Buffy/Angel universe. Well written.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2015-12-29, version 1.2.0*

I have played many Choice of Games... games, and I have to say that this might be the platonic ideal. A great mix of stats building and narrative intrigue. The writing was superb as was the world building. Simply a terrific tale and one I played multiple times to achieve my desired outcome. Can't wait to play the sequel...

### 5/5 — Would be nice if...

*2015-12-16*

There would be a direct sequel to this, Vega and main character *nudge* *nudge* I love the world and surroundings of this out of all the CoG games, I couldn't have asked for a better author and a better series setting, I adored the love scenes and even though they were not the main purpose of the story, it provokes wonderful feelings nonetheless! I'd love to see more MC and Vega action when it comes to those romantic scenes, so silky smooth and suave! A side Novella would be an interesting thing to write up, or an actual full-on romance CoG game, because lets face it, there's not much of romance in 'Choice of Romance'...sorry but it wasn't that great of a romance game :^) I love a love-interest character with details and well defined personality, instead of being just there for you to pick and choose to get with :) great game!!

### 5/5 — The Senior Partners want to see you

*2015-12-10, version 1.2.0*

This is an engaging, fun read, and a cool game. It's a choose-your-own-story, with a vein of supernaturalism. Your choices affect stats which track things like your affinity with different characters, your income and debt, and your available levels of power.

If you're a fan of BioWare games, especially one who enjoys those long moments staring at the screen trying to make a big decision, you'll love this. It's made of those kinds of decisions.

If you were a fan of the demonic law firm Wolfram & Hart in TV's Joss Whedon's "Angel," you'll love this. W&H could be a competitor firm to the one you work for.

If you've actually been through law school or know someone who has, you'll love this in a sort of painful way. And might recognize some of the demons.

### 5/5 — Pretty great

*2015-12-07, version 1.2.0*

If you want something that will grab your attention and have a variety of ending and twists it is a really great app.

### 5/5 — Great for Craft Sequence fans!

*2015-11-27, version 1.2.0*

A fun and engaging bit of extra world-building for The Craft Sequence. Definitely still playable without reading the books, though some parts might not be very clear. Single playthroughs don't take very long, but there's lots of alternative paths to explore!

### 5/5 — Brilliant game

*2015-11-26, version 1.2.0*

I'm surprised this one doesn't have more reviews, I'm a big fan of the Choice Of games, and this was definitely one of the best. I played it repeatedly when it first came out, and I've also bought 'Deathless: The City's Thirst' off the back of it, another one by the same author set in the same world. This game has a great plot, and I would definitely recommend it.

### 5/5 — Lovely Piece of Work!

*2015-11-24, version 1.2.0*

I'll keep this review short and sweet.

It has all of the literary elements a good read could have, a great sense of development of the characters you interact with, and each choice that you make is a whole new perspective on who you are.

Brilliant work! I hope you do make more.

### 5/5 — Best one!

*2015-11-14, version 1.2.0*

Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Fun

*2015-11-11, version 1.2.0*

Very fun and intricate, the writing and style is very good

### 5/5 — That was AWESOME!

*2015-08-14, version 1.1.0*

Just played through once and I loved it! The description and detail is better than every novel I've read recently. The explanations of some of the magic-y things are a bit confusing, but man-! The tension of getting your butt handed to you by some taloned monster: Perfect. :)

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 3/5 — Nonbinary gender options please!

*2016-09-17, version 1.2.0*

(:

### 3/5 — Meh

*2015-10-07, version 1.1.0*

It was okay.

I wasn't really clear on what the heck was going on most of the time. When you're not very clear on who you are, where you are, or why you are, making choices holds less relevance.

Kind of interesting to see what happens. It has this strange "pay off your debt" number at the end of each chapter which never really seemed to move or even matter, nor was it clear how to change it besides "changing where you live" at the end of each chapter.

### 4/5 — Great! The First Time Around

*2017-01-13, version 1.2.0*

Literate, error-free prose that allows the reader some input in navigating the plot's myriad twists and turns.

A bit disappointed in the depth and number of choice offered, however. Usually, I satisfy that craving by re-playing. The huge drawback to the series for me is the absence of bookmarks or chapter save points, even. To replay is to wade through pages and pages of text which does not change much if what I desire are subtle changes in approach to maximize (or minimize) trait scoring. Lacking that, at least inform us of how much charisma or craft, or whatnot we'd need for a particular choice selection.

I'd still recommend as this story is like an economical novella that is written with skill and creativity.

### 4/5 — Good but Not a Favorite

*2016-07-21, version 1.2.0*

I did enjoy this game and replayed a few times. It has less replay value than some of their other games and choices seemed to have less impact. The setting/world and characters were very interesting though, and overall, I am glad I played.

### 4/5 — Good not great

*2014-12-01, version 1.1.0*

The story was compelling and engaging, and the plot twist will keep you interested. However there isn't as much replay ability as the of choice games, and usually one play through will be enough. The stats don't really seem to do anything, the relationships or skills, additionally no matter what i did i couldn't pay off my debt and the debt never really amounted to anything. Great writing but variablity is, and branching story lines or choices weren't that good.

### 4/5 — Excellent.

*2014-10-25, version 1.0.1*

So engaging and intriguing. What an imagination this writer has! Really awesome story.

### 4/5 — Here is an idea:

*2014-01-23, version 1.0.0*

Maybe, the next game could be about you (the player) being a High School student and you have to face challenges with classes, be part of a sports team, and maybe even add some romance! Just saying 😐

### 4/5 — Abstract story telling

*2013-12-22, version 1.0.0*

This is a great game, but definitely not for everyone. This is a game for those who like the more weird abstract text games, but all in all, I loved this game

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2022-04-04, version 1.4.7*

I am a big fan of the author’s books, so being able to play in such a cerebral game set in that world is sheer pleasure. Brilliant writing and difficult choices ensure I will be replaying this a lot. I was genuinely wracked at some of the choices I was making in the game, brilliant.

### 5/5 — Fun

*2019-06-01, version 1.4.6*

Excellent writing — funny and suspenseful. Played through several times to change results. Great game.

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Glorious, cutting, deep

*2019-05-15, version 1.4.6*

I replay this game every few years, and I'm surprised and impressed by Gladstone's writing each time. Really hard to recommend this game more. Excellent universe, realistic characters, useful structure, and tough choices. Give it a play!

### 5/5 — A Universe I Can Get Behind

*2018-05-09, version 1.4.6*

A great, well-written game with a really unique world and interesting story—none of it felt tired. Magical lawyers are such a neat concept. Loved it so much I started getting into the related books, which are also great.

### 5/5 — Fantastic book tie-in!

*2017-09-28, version 1.3.0*

🌈🦄💕

### 5/5 — I might actually like lawyers now

*2017-05-18, version 1.2.0*

A fantastic game, with really top notch writing and a vibrant world!

### 5/5 — ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

*2017-03-19, version 1.2.0*

This was absolutely remarkable!!!! I was sucked into the lore immediately and really grew into my character's skin! All the characters were very believable - my guy started making out with Wakefield and it was the best - and I genuinely cared about all of them! I'm only disappointed that it didn't last longer!!!!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2017-03-10, version 1.2.0*

I'm happy that I took the plunge into buying this game. Love the characters and their personalities. I adore the world the author created. This game led me to reading the Craft Sequence series and it's honestly life changing.

### 5/5 — Loved it!

*2017-01-16, version 1.2.0*

Interesting, beautiful world-building. Lots of choices with consequences. A couple different romance options. Just over all a really fun game with a great story! I've played it many times.

### 5/5 — Should've played sooner!

*2016-12-02, version 1.2.0*

I've played almost all COGs but I put off playing this one because the idea of playing a lawyer just didn't appeal to me. That said, this was a *great* game. The writing, setting, and characters are strong. The choices you make greatly affect the game experience and the ending. Your skills are fun and interesting, and there are plenty of relationships to explore. Yes, you play a lawyer but your clients and cases are just plain cool. There is plenty of engaging drama, and the end is very climatic and satisfying. I just finished it, and I look forward to trying again - it seems like there are many different endings. I liked playing this game a lot, and as many reviewers have stated, I really hope there will be a sequel or another game set in the same world. Definitely worth your time and money, give it a try!
