### 3/5 — The app is helpful but…

*2026-08-10, version 16.2.0*

This app has helped me a lot. The courses have helped, the meditations have helped. The chat has helped me get out of some pretty tough spirals and has helped me to do compulsions a lot less. But I’m paying the highest subscription price and am still being limited. $30 monthly is expensive and I’m not receiving the full benefits for that price anymore.

### 4/5 — WARNING PLEASE READ

*2026-08-07, version 16.2.0*

I got this app for ocd help and my biggest trigger is blood; I told this to the app and in the exposure heirarchy it suggested: “Create a small cut on your arm (such as by a razor blade or by scraping), allow the blood to flow for several minutes, observe it directly in a mirror, and continue with normal activities while the bleeding is still visible.” I understand the app is run by AI, but I found this advice not only extremely dangerous but also triggering as someone who has previously had a history of self abuse. I believe this app can be a great tool and I see a lot of positive attributes, but I strongly encourage the developers to take this seriously and put some type of restrictions on the AI features in order to prevent an accident from happening.

### 5/5 — The best!!

*2026-07-08, version 16.1.0*

So appreciate this app

### 4/5 — Very Helpful Team - Excited to try it out!

*2026-07-06, version 16.1.0*

The team is quick to respond to questions, I’ve only just discovered the app but I’m excited about the idea of something I can go to easily to help manage what I’m going through. Can only give 4 stars since I haven’t used it long yet but I’m looking forward to improvements in my symptoms.

### 5/5 — LOVE This App

*2026-07-04, version 16.1.0*

Gosh, I love this app. It’s helps tremendously in between sessions and with grounding during moments of panic. The free features have been incredibly helpful for those of us who can’t afford the app. The information provided is incredibly on point with everything I’ve learned about ocd. I also like that it pushes back when I’m trying to get reassurance. All I can say is, you usually can’t get in touch with your therapist at 11 pm, but this app is there.

### 5/5 — Game changer!!

*2026-07-04, version 16.1.0*

I’ve not been diagnosed personally. But even if you’re unsure but think you might have ocd this app is a game changer!

I’ve dealt with lots of intrusive thoughts and confusing moments in my time and going onto the chats and getting answers as well as dealing with those thoughts in the most suitable way has really helped me learn new skills and adapt in ways I thought I never would’ve been able to

I’m finally getting my life back, thank you!

### 5/5 — Useful App some minor bugs

*2026-07-01, version 16.1.0*

The app has been EXTREMELY helpful for me. My wife made me download it and it’s been helpful in ways I never could’ve imagine. While I was hesitant about AI chat. Knowing it was created with the help of clinicians makes it a bit easier. The only thing I will say is there are still some bugs but that’s to be expected with a newer app. Support has been extremely helpful and so has the connection with NOCS

### 5/5 — if you're struggling, try this!

*2026-07-01, version 16.1.0*

i've been in a terrible ocd spiral and i came across this app. i was nervous to use it as i didn't want to accidentally feed my ocd but it does a wonderful job at mitigating that and actually helps me notice when i'm feeding it and i don't realise. absolutely worth the download!

### 5/5 — Incredible accessible support

*2026-07-01, version 16.1.0*

I am very pleased and feel lucky to have found Choiceful after realising that some of my incessant anxiety very much fits the bill for OCD. I’ve used the basic plan so far and found the intro module to have understandable, resonant explanations and metaphors of OCD and management strategies. Having the option to use the tools and chat sections then helps personalise content to me and has begun to help me make sense of my mental compulsions and to break down what the uncertainties and fears within my intrusions / obsessions are. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — The 24/7 Chat Function Is Amazing!

*2026-06-30, version 16.1.0*

Choiceful has been monumentally helpful for me throughout my OCD recovery process -- I was skeptical at first about the chat function (mostly wondering how helpful an AI chat bot can be), but this one is built specifically with OCD in mind and is great for helping me stay grounded during spirals without reassurance (which ultimately makes the spirals worse). It's great for daily check ins even when I'm not having OCD "flare ups". Highly recommend it! It's a really good option for OCD sufferers who work well with talking through spirals -- you'll never bother this app for reaching out in the middle of the night or multiple times a day, which has helped me take potential stress off of my relationships!

### 5/5 — Super helpful

*2026-06-30, version 16.1.0*

I was able to not only get very much needed help with my obsessions and compulsions, but was experiencing a financial burden and emailed someone regarding cheaper financial options and was immediately responded to and offered more affordable payment options. I had been needing therapy for months and now I am able to receive it without paying an arm and a leg. The app itself is amazing and super resourceful. I have been able to limit my compulsions and the chat is amazing because it responds based off of what you tell it and it is super accurate as if you’re speaking to an ocd specialist.

### 5/5 — Absolutely amazing

*2026-06-28, version 16.0.0*

Has helped so much with my OCD I genuinely could not recommend it more. This is what ai should be used for.

### 5/5 — A Super Helpful Application

*2026-06-21, version 16.0.0*

I downloaded Choiceful after coming across an advertisement of this application on Instagram and I have found it to be so helpful for me in what I believe has been one of my hardest moments with OCD. The courses in the application have been very informative and the chats have helped me a lot when I find myself the most worried. I am super thankful for this tool !

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2026-06-16, version 16.0.0*

Great option for those seeking treatment and methods to implement self-help tools without access to traditional ocd talk therapy. Already I have noticed a major shift in my approach to OCD, increased awareness, and better grip on my anxiety from it. I highly recommend, and look forward to going through the program.

### 5/5 — Great App & Support

*2026-06-14, version 16.0.0*

Choiceful is educational and supportive. It utilizes ERP and ACT techniques to help you be in control of your anxiety and OCD. It can be a helpful buddy while you go through your ERP journey. It is truly worth the investment of your time and energy. Best of luck to all!

### 5/5 — Hi if you saw my last review ignore it I like your app

*2026-06-08, version 16.0.0*

Ok bye

### 5/5 — This app transofmed my life

*2026-06-08, version 16.0.0*

This app has helped me so very much. I am so thankful to have it. Choicefu has educated me about my OCD and has taught/helped me understand how to cope and thrive with my diagnosis

### 5/5 — Groundbreaking

*2026-06-07, version 16.0.0*

This app is really amazing for ongoing OCD support. I was skeptical as i’m generally dubious of AI and already go to therapy. But it’s actually helped me a lot and is very good at noticing when i’m looking for reassurance. It’s fantastic.

### 5/5 — Really useful tool, just insanely buggy

*2026-06-05, version 15.2.0*

The responses I have been given have rescued me from many spirals. However, the app is super buggy and almost unusable at times since the latest updates. It makes my phone really hot, drops my battery 50% in less than 30 minutes, and my messages take 5-10 minutes to send. If these could be fixed, that would be great as it’s a really useful tool for me when I don’t have access to therapy.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Invalidating

*2026-08-18, version 16.2.0*

The ai is super invalidating to feelings and opinions not helpful at all

### 1/5 — Generic

*2026-02-20, version 15.0.0*

This app is so generic. It is not good. ChatGPT is better than this. Don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — Lost All Progress On The App

*2026-02-02, version 14.27*

I just downloaded this app and went through all the steps of answering all the questions and listening my compulsions. The app got closed so I lost all my progress and had to restart from scratch. Will not be using this app.

### 1/5 — Very frustrating

*2026-01-21, version 14.27*

It asked me what my most bothersome obsession was currently.

I described it, and it said I added too many details regarding how it impacts my day/actions, and suggested I shorten it down to “I struggle with the feeling I’m forgetting something very important, or missing something”.

So that’s exactly what I shortened it to. And then it said that was too vague and I needed to be able to name something specific I was afraid of forgetting or missing, “such as fear of locking the door”…but that’s the complete opposite of what I was describing.

The nature of my obsession is that it’s a never-ending vague feeling that I’m forgetting something crucial and CANT REMEMBER WHAT IT IS. It’s never something very specific, or else that wouldn’t even be the same obsession I’m describing.

I will stop and “think” for long periods of time to “find” it, replaying entire conversations or days to see if I might trigger the memory.

The whole point is that I can’t remember what the specific thing is. So it was either give it faulty answers to get faulty advice, or delete it. So I just deleted it.

### 1/5 — Data storage

*2026-01-14, version 14.27*

I had a strange experience during the intake process when I decided I wanted to opt out of using the app (purely because it asked me to put my thoughts down to tailor a treatment program). As per their policy, they mention the information can be deleted once requested by email. I asked them twice to remove my information and they have not responded back to confirm. This is quite suss and concerning given the vulnerable nature that users are in because of OCD. If you want to use the app fine, but where is the customer service? Before using the app, consider that your most private thoughts are going to be stored on this and they will blame you for putting it in, despite this app promising to treat you.

### 1/5 — Unpleasant experience since update

*2026-01-05, version 14.25*

I’d like to be up front with everyone so no one wastes unnecessary time. Since updating the app in January ‘26, almost everything apart from the introduction (basic info you could get for free online about OCD) requires a pro subscription which is 19.99 per month. It also has grating language in the pop up which to paraphrase says “or you could have therapy at $800 per month!” Like a fake option to select. The wording is manipulative and offensive to people who can’t afford the app subscription or therapy. They say they will grant a free subscription to anyone who needs it but don’t appear to monitor or answer the emails sent to this address. Sorry to disappoint.

### 1/5 — Rugpull

*2025-12-07, version 14.22*

Used to be able to chat for free, now you have to pay. Real slap in the face. Also gets really hyperfocused on one theme and won’t let you refocus on a different theme.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2025-10-01, version 14.20*

You cannot get therapy from an app. It should not be administering YBOCS or assessing or creating treatment plans. The creator of the app is not a clinician. This is dangerous.

### 1/5 — Lots of technical issues

*2025-08-23, version 14.17*

I really started to enjoy the plans and exercises until the chat feature kept acting up. For $120 a year it should work. So sad because this was making me feel so much better.

### 1/5 — Always has an error

*2025-08-21, version 14.17*

Cant get past the first chat. It keeps asking me to reload and then deletes all the messages and i have to start over. Keeps crashing. extremely frustrating.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-08-22, version 16.2.0*

This is my second review I wanted to come back and leave another one cause I want others to know how wonderful this program is. It’s been a blessing 🙏 I was never able to afford to see someone for my OCD due to the fact I couldn’t find anyone to take my insurance I was able to find help with my other mental health issues but not pacifically my OCD. So I was so thankful when I seen this app. Not only is it affordable but also in my past, I struggle to find anybody that could figure out what type of OCD I had. They had no idea and it left me feeling alone like I was the only one that had this type of OCD I have and at times I felt like I was going crazy, but this has been able to tell me what type I have!! I no longer feel alone and I felt seen. 🥹 I actually have a name of what type of OCD I have. The other great thing is you can chat on here anytime. I find myself chatting to my AI. Counselor everyday almost when I’m having a hard time and it’s helps so much!!! I’m also learning to do exposure therapy it is not easy at all but it’s worth it and I’m getting through it and it does help! I hope this review really helps somebody and whoever created this app thank you so much!!! 🙏💜

### 5/5 — Consider giving this a chance, it could help!

*2026-07-28, version 16.1.0*

I am beyond anti-AI, but had to use it for work, so in distress, I did end up turning to Claude/ChatGPT for mental health advice - a terrible idea, I know. After multiple loved ones told me they think I might have OCD, I started trying this app, skeptically, and the chats are incredibly different than "standard" AI chatbots. While between REAL therapists, I have finally seen progress with my OCD and have found this incredibly helpful and life changing. I will be seeking out a human OCD specialist when I can afford it and manage it, but until then, this app has changed my habits, awareness, and attitude for the better. Take it with a grain of salt like anything (especially AI, which I still firmly believe is mostly bad) but this app does truly have a lot of worth.

### 5/5 — Really Impressed

*2026-07-23, version 16.1.0*

I’m so impressed with this app which I’ve been using for a month or two now. I honestly thought I’d download and sign up then delete within a week which is how I usually get on with these things.

To give some background info; I’m late diagnosed ADHD, autistic, with OCD and health anxiety.

I’m not exaggerating when I tell you I’ve seen approximately 15-20 different therapists in the last decade. All the therapy I had helped at the time, however I’ve never been able to keep on top of my intrusive thoughts long-term. I’m not suggesting this app should replace therapy but it’s been so helpful to prevent me from relapsing into a bad place again.

Although I had good knowledge of the techniques from my therapists, actually applying them consistently without falling into a mental compulsion of negative self critism on a long term basis has always seemed like an impossible goal for me. I’m happy to report that I actually now believe there is light at the end of the very long and very dark tunnel.

The fact I can go onto the chat function when I need acute support is incredibly valuable, you can’t really get that with a traditional therapist. I love how it has a memory of the details mentioned along the way so you’re not always having to repeat yourself and will notice trends of how your compulsions show up as well as what techniques work best.

I actually did start using another online support service in conjunction with the app to begin with as I was really struggling with things. I covered off more topics and practiced more ERP using this app over the course of a week compared to not even having enough time to cover my background of my issues with the other service. I cancelled the subscription I had with the other service and have used Choiceful ever since. It’s great to have a quick response chat that is non judgemental, catches you when you stumble into compulsions, educates you on the psychology of OCD, and is confidential.

Thank you so so so much to the people who created this app, you are heroes xx

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-07-16, version 16.1.0*

Really beneficial for trying to heal my ROCD and super insightful! lovely staff aswell:)

### 5/5 — great app

*2026-07-14, version 16.1.0*

Helped me so much while I’ve been waiting for treatment. So grateful an app like this exists

### 5/5 — A wonderful app and a wonderful team

*2026-07-13, version 16.1.0*

Choiceful has been great for me. I tried this app after trying another one and just ending up irritated and more in distress. Choiceful helped me even just after the demo. I found it a little pricey, but this team aims to make it truly accessible to everyone and wants no one with OCD to go without support, that means so much to me. I love Choiceful.

### 5/5 — Get the app

*2026-07-12, version 16.1.0*

I’m still using the free trial but just in 5 days I better understand so much about my ocd and how to help myself. I’m getting the subscription when the trail is done. The AI does not just yes and the conversation. It doesn’t just follow along and agree with your obsessions or compulsions, it helps you reframe and reanalysis your thoughts. It’s incredibly helpful.

### 5/5 — Super Helpful for OCD

*2026-07-11, version 16.1.0*

I was diagnosed with OCD this yearand have had difficulty accesing therapy because of transportations issues. I downloaded Choiceful hoping it would help me manage my OCD and after just a a few days of using it I've already learned healthier ways to respond to my compulsions and gained a better understanding of OCD.

The team has also been incredibly kind. I was having trouble affording the subscription and they generously offered me a discounted plan which I truly appreciate.

I definitely recommend Choiceful to anyone looking for support and tools to help manage their OCD.

### 5/5 — Defo recommend

*2026-07-11, version 16.1.0*

This app give incredible support, as a teen who struggles with severe ocd, it’s literally saved my life. I even recommend it to others, and they say the same thing. I will always have this app downloaded.

### 5/5 — Helpful!

*2026-07-09, version 16.1.0*

Choiceful, while not a direct alternative for therapy. Is a great tool for spirals and just getting through the average OCD day.
