That being said the user-interface needs to be overhauled to fit what is expected of an App. Special Features, UI improvements, etc. These are things that users are wanting to experience from an APP. It’s currently no different than pulling up a browser, except now it takes up storage on your device. ### 2/5 — Meh *2023-11-12, version 5.5.8* It gets a second star for being local and coordinating with restaurants, but the interface pales in comparison to national competitors. I end up using DD because it’s smoother & not as ancient looking as your app is- and I feel kinda bad for you for that?? However, when attempting to register, the password fields aren’t recognized as linked to a password manager. What used it be my savior in the Covid era is now far worse than its competitors. The app let me place an order for a delivery that wouldn’t be delivered until the following morning- something DoorDash would never allow. When you try and plug in an address, it only recognizes national addresses, nothing local. Also, I have tried to use it to order several times, but so many issues. I won’t go in to the issues. Save your time and sanity, go with Door Dash or Grub Hub. ### 1/5 — don’t use this app *2023-02-09, version 5.2.0* i’m pretty sure this new chomp app leaked my credit card information. it was my only purchase with a new credit card. then a few days later, i had a fraudulent charge on my account. ### 1/5 — The worst delivery service that’s still in business. *2022-08-10* I have received multiple calls from their customer service line stating there was an issue with their service. Drivers have forgotten to get the order at the restaurant and there have been times where there internet/system works well enough to place orders but can not get them delivered. I’ve had orders that were canceled by Chomp because they could not complete the order at all or arrive more than thirty minutes late with cold food. In all cases, Chomp never offers to waive their service fee or make it right somehow. It feels like a very small startup ran by kids. ### 1/5 — Inconsistent and unreliable *2021-06-07* Four times on the last two weeks orders have been cancelled (restaurants not open, restaurant doesn’t have food). No biggie deal except for they don’t tell you until an hour later when your expecting food to arrive. Love to support local but when they can’t deliver on the fundamental promise of the app, it’s not worth it. ### 1/5 — Bad service *2021-03-14, version 3.14.7* I literally only downloaded the app to use the chat function to get help about missing items in my order and the chat button literally takes you to the browser. Pointless and no help from customer service ! ### 1/5 — Disaster *2020-04-04* One star - First of all The restaurant and the app were not coordinated, app said they were closed, they were open. Second the one dish that the place was famous for, was sold out, but the app was unaware, and the restaurant took 30 minutes after my order to call me and tell me it was unavailable Thirdly this app is trash. When you click on a field to fill it in, it pulls up the keyboard , you type for thirty seconds, and then look up - nothing has gone through. You have to click on each field twice. After I placed my initial order (which took 30 min to fail) I locked my phone, after 20 min opened it, and the app has forgotten me, I have to log in again, and guess what you click on the field and start typing and nothing happens. Click on it twice dear Dunno whose fault was the misunderstanding about menus and whatnot but it’s a fail for me so deleted ! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Chomp Delivery *2025-09-03* Great local delivery service in the Iowa City area! ### 5/5 — Great service with a _wonderful_ app update *2024-02-01* I am so happy the updated app works in landscape as well as portrait mode! I was frustrated every time I ordered by that. The update seems to have improved usability in general quite a bit. I also have not had the trouble that the old reviews are talking about. Ok, the drivers have trouble finding my house but that is because I have a large bush that blocks their view of the house number.
