### 3/5 — One problem!

*2024-10-12, version 1.2.5*

This plug-in is great! I would rate higher if the sample import would allow me to cut the sample right in the app! I’m usually sampling entire songs, and since Chomplr only allows 100 seconds to the imported, I have to go somewhere else to cut it. Please add this feature!🙏

### 4/5 — Great Sampler w Built In Store

*2023-05-02, version 1.2.5*

Very good product. The only issue is that UI is chopped off in iPad Mini. Pls fix!!

### 3/5 — It was great until…

*2023-02-17*

…I had to reinstall the app and now I can’t access any of my sound packs that I’ve purchased. I can’t find any way possible to restore my purchases within the app. If I’m missing something please let me know but this should be something way more obvious.

(Update…found it in tiny letters at the bottom of the store list. Very hard to locate)

### 2/5 — No Way To Access Sound Packs Outside The App

*2022-09-24, version 1.2.5*

Embedding sound packs in the app is a complete ripoff. Especially when the app itself is subpar. I foolishly purchased several sound packs before realizing there is no actual way to use the sound packs in any other interface. It is dumb that I cannot find a folder where all the samples I bought are in… because it doesn’t exist. What a pain it is to have to resample each purchased track to use in a more polished system. Again it is just dumb that I cannot take a sound file I purchased and use it in my octatrack without having to resample the whole
thing. This app was obviously designed to sell you sound packs which are actually legit but the app itself is a joke.

### 3/5 — A bit rough

*2022-05-31*

I love this plugin, but in Garageband at least it’s very glitchy. It loses trigger start and end points very frequently, completely destroying anything I’ve made with it. I don’t have the energy to think so hard as to fix it every time it breaks. There’s also a problem resulting in dropped triggers. It happens randomly. I’ve tried everything I can to get it working properly, including changing the buffer, restarting, reloading… everything. I wish this app was better executed because it has the potential to be amazing.

### 5/5 — Amazing!!!

*2022-01-13*

This app is useful!!!
It sounds super good, lots of samplings.

I use it in every song I create.
10 stars!!!

Keep up the good work🤘🏻

### 3/5 — It’s Alright ⚠️

*2021-11-30*

Complaints:

Limited Sample Imports

You’d think that Importing Samples would be a basic free feature that would come with this app, its not. It costs $2.99 and it doesn’t even let you import samples longer than 1 minute and 40 seconds.

Crashes

When you use the app by itself it usually crashes after about 30-40 mins in, but when used as a GarageBand plugin in then its fine.

Bugs

Theres a weird bug on iPhone, when you open up Key Settings the UI is out of place.

I also tried to delete a imported sample the way the manual said, but the option to delete was greyed out.

Wishlist:

Midi Learn

I hope they add Midi Learn so I could assign one of the knobs on my Midi keyboard to the data slider or for the effect sliders.

Zoom

Being able to zoom in on the waveform.

Save Chop Edits

I would like to be able to save the positions of the cuts of a sample within the app. It usually saves that within GarageBand, but I want that within this app alone.

Record Button

I would like a record button for when I find a groove.

Done right:

•Aesthetics

•Effects

•Sounds

The samples that already come with this app sound incredible. I love the aesthetic of the whole thing. The effects are cool.

### 4/5 — 100%! ❤️❤️❤️

*2021-10-26*

🔥I can just recommend this app, a MUST for all Sampleheads 🔥

### 4/5 — 5 Star Potential

*2021-10-15, version 1.2.4*

In the browser, please add the ability to save favorite selections, rename samples and a search bar to find selections easier. Thanks for replying!

### 2/5 — Saving the settings…

*2021-08-21*

Is it possible to save the parameters for each sample edited with this app? I can't find a way.

### 5/5 — By far the most interesting sampling app

*2021-07-05, version 1.2.4*

Just got the chomplr app today and I’m already amazed at the workflow and simplicity of the user interface all the unique features and functionalities of chomplr I highly recommend this app for sample based producers.

Big ups to all the staff at Msxii audio for this

### 5/5 — Convenient

*2021-07-04*

Bought chomplr recently and its cool. Really slick workflow.

### 3/5 — Please can I get my packs

*2021-06-27*

Yo this company makes good apps. After the new update all of my packs are now grayed out.. Come on y’all are you serious? Can I please get all my pets back. I don’t know if this has anything to do with the update or is it intentional. But if it’s intentional that’s shady. That’s why I only gave you three stars.

**Developer response:** Hi, simply restore your purchase at the bottom the store. They will populate as long as you're under wifi. Additionally, anything of the sort would never be intentional. You know that. Thanks!

### 1/5 — Abandonware

*2024-04-01, version 1.2.5*

Another good idea that was abandoned when the developers did not make enough money. )-:

### 1/5 — Update made matters worse

*2021-08-17, version 1.2.4*

All of my purchases disappeared. Not a great feeling

### 1/5 — Can’t import your own files

*2021-01-28*

I picked this with the intention of using my own samples, which seems like it would be a basic feature and kind of a “well, duh” capability of a sample-chopping app. However, the ONLY way to add any sounds is through in-app purchases from their own shop, which is limited to their samples. Seriously, why isn’t this a feature? I wish I had done my homework but it’s my bad for assuming this seemingly obvious thing would be present in a sample-chopping app.

**Developer response:** Hi, you can import your own user samples. This was always on the roadmap and is now here. Please consider updating your review/stars.

Thanks!

### 1/5 — Can’t use my own samples...?

*2021-01-18, version 1.1.1*

You can only cut up samples you buy from the app? Garbage. I want a refund.

### 1/5 — Still having issues, even with the update and contacting support

*2020-07-06*

I really wanted to like this app. I was getting into their lofi dirt app to until connectivity issues with Audiobus arose. On this app I am not getting an alert of poor WiFi connectivity and the new “restore purchases” button aren’t working. Not at all. So I have half of a pack.

I don’t know what to expect here. I’ve not run into these particular issues elsewhere or the lack of a restore purchases button like how this started out. It still seems non functional when pressed. I want it to work seeing as I had a plan after reading the manuals. Just gonna write this off as another useless app that wasn’t tested fully or ready to hit the App Store yet.

So disappointed when this happens.

### 2/5 — you may have to pay royalties

*2023-12-28, version 1.2.5*

read the fine print with these guys. they are great producers but also very strict with their samples.

### 2/5 — Save and share

*2023-02-25, version 1.2.5*

The fact that you can’t save and share your projects makes this app obsolete. It’s like making food that you can’t eat.

### 5/5 — Best Kept Secret

Please continue adding new sample packs! Thanks in advance! -AprilRox Studios 🎶🔥

### 5/5 — Vibe CREATOR!!

*2024-09-30*

INSTANT VYBEZ! I love the fact that every time I load Chomplr it throws me a random sample chopped up. Almost every time it becomes a beat, it’s almost like a daily challenge 🔥. Additional packs are so cheap and worth it times a million. My only gripe is no velocity sensitivity for midi controllers, unless I’m missing something? Regardless, would give 6 stars if I could! This thing is my new favorite thing!

### 5/5 — Best Kept Secret

Please continue adding new sample packs! Thanks in advance! -AprilRox Studios 🎶

### 5/5 — Please keep updated

*2023-06-26*

An excellent app - seriously I’ve tried many many. Now with user import it gets really interesting. It’s absolutely great to control - it just has this hardware-like feel to it ( not sure exactly what I mean but it just does 😂) please, please don’t let it die! 👍

### 5/5 — Satisfied

*2023-04-07*

Not only is this an amazing product, one of the greatest gifts to a producer or musician is product support. That to me is what makes the difference in deciding which software to go with. I appreciate the quick response to my situation and the benefits of Chomplr itself. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Almost like KOALA for beginners… and it’s AMAZING

*2023-01-16*

Using koala and Samplr stumbled upon Chomplr later on and almost wish I found it first… it eliminates the complication involved with other iOS apps with similar concepts so you can really just focus on making music and enjoying it… My only gripe is the sample library, yet amazing, isn’t inexpensive… paying a few dollars to sometimes get one or two samples seems a bit minimal when other apps usual sell massive preset packs for that price… but the import your own sample feature makes this app 100% worth it… and the samples they do offer for sale are definitely optimized for usage in Chomplr to be used “right out of the box” with little to no tweaking needed… either way I plan on continuing to buy more of their samples and adding my own cuts… Koala is still my favorite sampler for features but for more of a free flow “fun” workflow Chomplr gets right to the point… Looking forward to what else comes out from the developer going forward…

### 5/5 — Sweet! UPDATE

*2022-09-02, version 1.2.5*

It’s just so good!

Sounds great. Sample packs have tons of dirt for a few pennies. Very inspirational. Lots of applications to just about any musical genre. Well worth it!

### 5/5 — (UPDATE 2022) Just buy it

*2022-05-03*

Sample import was added and opened up a whole new world in Chomplr. I’m still loving this app. The only other feature that would significantly improve this app would be the ability to save a project state. Unless you’re in a DAW you can’t save all of the in and out points you’ve made to a sample. It would be nice to open up a sample in Chomplr, create all your in and out key points, set your effects and then be able to come back to it later in the same place it was when you left. Any chance of this feature? Still worth more than they’re charging tho.

————————-

I’ve been following this company for a while and am nothing but impressed with their aesthetic and attention to detail. This app sounds amazing. What you can do with one short sample by assigning certain sections to keys and tweaking is a game changer. I know the tech has been out for a while but hasn’t been implemented into iOS in this way with such a diverse array of effects. I was pretty disappointed to see that I couldn’t import my own samples though 😕 If that feature gets added then this thing is unlimited in its scope. For now I’ll just tweak what is provided by MSXII and try to make it my own. Anyway if you were on the fence just do it, it’s only $5, what do you have to lose?

### 5/5 — Grossartiger sampler

*2022-03-10*
