## What is Chord Freeze?

You want something to solo over. Your options are a looper pedal you have to buy and carry, a backing track that locks you into someone else's key and tempo, or a second guitarist who is not currently in your living room.

Chord Freeze is the fourth option. Play a chord. Tap Freeze. It holds — indefinitely, unchanging — while you play scales, modes, and leads on top of it. Tap again to release, and freeze a new chord.

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR GUITAR

Because it is your guitar. Chord Freeze captures the sound coming in and sustains that: your pickups, your amp, your pedals, your hands. It isn't a synth patch doing an impression of a guitar, and it isn't a sampled instrument. The chord you hear held is the chord you just played.

Under the hood it's a granular engine rather than a looped buffer, which is why it doesn't tick, stutter, or breathe the way a short loop does. There's no seam to hear, however long you hold it.

SIMPLE ENOUGH TO USE MID-PRACTICE

One big button. Three knobs. Two switches. No menus, no presets, no project files.

• DELAY — how long Auto-Freeze waits after your strum settles
• WINDOW — how much of the chord it captures
• VOLUME — the frozen chord's level against your live playing

Freeze is retroactive: it grabs the sound that was already ringing just before you tapped, so you strum, let it settle, then tap. No countdown, no timing it perfectly.

HANDS-FREE IF YOU WANT IT

Turn on Auto-Freeze and it captures by itself once a chord has been sustaining — no reaching for the phone mid-exercise. Or pair any Bluetooth page-turner pedal (iRig BlueTurn, AirTurn PED, and similar) and stomp it like a real footswitch. No configuration, no pairing screen inside the app.

WORKS WITH WHAT YOU HAVE

Plug in a USB or Lightning interface — iRig, Focusrite, anything class-compliant — and Chord Freeze switches to it automatically for a clean direct signal. No interface? The built-in mic works fine; just use headphones.
