### 1/5 — Do not trust app. Wrong conversions.

*2025-06-05*

Your app does not convert correctly when changing keys. Asus2 does not become c#sus4 it would be f#sus2. Cmaj7/E would become Amaj7/C#. The C is converting to an A/E intead of just E. These are a lot of mistakes for a single set of chords going from key of C to A.

### 5/5 — Indispensable

*2022-05-31*

One of those how I did I make it so long with out those apps. Really helps to augment my adventures into alternate tunings. Especially disparate ones on different instruments in my recordings. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Awesome!!!

*2019-09-17*

Exactly what I was looking for!!! Love it!!!

### 5/5 — Best app so many features! Please add folder organization for favorite chords

*2019-04-13*

I think folder organization would be really helpful. I want to put a set of chords into a folder for one song, and different set of chords for another song. If this can be added, I think the app would be perfect!

**Developer response:** Great idea! I had a few other features ahead of this in the queue for the upcoming 1.0.9 release, but this is the very next feature I’ll be implementing.

### 5/5 — Great way to learn

*2019-03-28, version 1.0.6*

Love it!

### 5/5 — Super for songwriting

*2019-03-22, version 1.0.6*

This app is pretty unique, it’s like a guitar Swiss Army knife. Love it!

### 5/5 — Chord Love

*2019-03-20, version 1.0.6*

Great app!!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-02-13*

This app is awesome. As someone who loves to rock out to music with odd time signatures and weird chords, I would play songs without knowing exactly what I was doing. This app helps me identify and save all of the weird 7th and 9th chords that I love so much.

### 4/5 — Not pretty but very handy

*2018-09-22*

Not the most beautiful app but designed by someone who loves music and very handy. There doesn’t seem to be anything quite like it in the App Store
On the main page you get a line drawing of the guitar fret board and you can play notes or mute the strings and make chords. It tells you what chord you are playing in the top right corner
You can then hit wizard and it will give you variants of the chord and even what notes to pick out of the scale
The second page you can choose any chord and add things like sus4 diminished etc
All the chords on the app will sound out if you hold your finger on the apps fretboard (sounding a little bit like a piano)

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for using Chord Love and providing a thoughtful review. I really appreciate it! It's certainly true that I have focused more on function rather than form - I've made conscious choices to pick a plain looking interface in most cases. However, I am very interested in feedback from my users. If there was one thing that you wished was more attractively designed, what would it be?

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.12 — 2023-08-22

* Fixed bug in Chord Wizard that was adding wrong chords to scales and keys.
* Fixed bug in Chord Wizard showing chords in scale (or key) with optional notes that weren't in the scale.
* Changed explore scale and explore key to highlight all instances of notes being played; now they act the same as explore chord
* Minor tweaks to font sizes and colors to improve readability, especially in dark mode
* Fixed bug that would not highlight root note of scale if it was selected before launching Explore scale
* Fixed column widths in search chord dialog so notes and alternations are consistently visible

### 1.0.11 — 2019-11-16

Added support for Dark Mode and high contrast accessibility.
Improved and updated FAQ and hint text.

### 1.0.10 — 2019-10-23

* Fixed crashes occurring going into/out of dialogs
* Fixed crashes in drawing musical staff for some chords
* Internal refactoring, code clean-up, and minor bug fixes.
* Improvements to chord naming in complex chords with multiple alterations as well as polychords

### 1.0.9 — 2019-08-08

VERSION 1.0.9
* Restructuring of the chord engine's caching strategy so it is significantly faster on most chord management tasks, and fixed several corner cases that resulted in improperly assigned roots or spelling. The speed is especially noticeable on pages that generated a lot of chords (like search chord), as well as when loading large scratchpads.
* Added settings to allow more control over clipboard copy processing (Double-tap | Copy). Number of columns lets you control the size of a chord chart (how many chords are in each row). Settings "include graphics" and "include text" allow you to force apps to use images or text as necessary. This is important for iOS apps that understand multiple clipboard formats like EverNote, Apple Pages, or Microsoft Word. By setting those options you can get either text (Chord Pro notation) for pasting songs/lyrics or chord diagrams for pasting chord charts as you prefer.
* Added setting to choose notation displayed underneath chord grid: Roman numeral degree, chord spelling, finger positions, or blank. (The search chord screen always displays chord spellings under each of the chord variants.)
* Compute finger positions for chords. Available as an option under all chord grids, on main window finger dots, or on notation bar underneath main chord grid.
* Removed Facebook and Twitter links from feedback page - they're incompatible with iOS11, and they weren't being used anyway.
* Fixed assorted bugs: now preserves chord name when loading chord from scratchpad, fixed progression names with minor seventh (were showing as 7m, not m7), crashes in deleting selected chords and exiting chord dialogs.
* Updated app to iOS11

### 1.0.8 — 2019-07-05

* Added ability for scales to highlight notes (such as 1, 3, 5) by tapping on scale position in scale search
* Added UX logging so usability patterns could be analyzed for UX improvements
* Updated FAQ to cover all new features and UI updates since initial release
* Key guessing is now able to detect major vs relative minor key
* Changed scale labeling to show position in major scale (1 3b 4 5 7) rather than relative position (1 2 3 4 5)
* Wizard provides hint when no chord is selected
* Fixed bug where setting of accidentals other than default "Best Guess" would not always update chord names
* Fixed bug where selecting all and deleting selected chords (as opposed to clearing all) would crash
