### 4/5 — Dark icon and iOS 26 features

*2025-10-20*

Please, bring the iOS 18 and 26 new features:
- Dark and tinted icon;
- Some widgets to access more quickly our favorite scales and chords;
- Option to share the chords and scales diagrams (PNG, JPG ou SVG) like www.chordpic.com does.

### 4/5 — Great app but seems to have stopped working on the Mac now

*2025-02-03, version 2.8.2*

This is a fantastic app and I use it on the iPhone, iPad and Mac. However it seems to have stopped working on the mac 😢, it would be great if this could be fixed. Otherwise fantastic app – thank you.

### 4/5 — Korean

*2024-06-09*

I wish there was a Korean version too.

### 3/5 — How in the world can you replace a chord??

*2024-04-05, version 2.8.2*

Some instruction on how to use the app would be very nice, I’m just a regular guy and I don’t want to spend all my time learning how to run this. He said lovingly.

### 5/5 — Coole App

*2023-08-06*

### 5/5 — So much info

*2023-07-15, version 2.8.2*

One of the best chord apps out there. Easy to use with loads of features.

### 5/5 — Parfaite pour l’étude des gammes, bravo !

*2023-02-12*

### 5/5 — Eine All in One App für Musiktheorie auch für Ukulele

*2022-10-01*

### 4/5 — Chords in the scales

*2022-07-04, version 2.8*

Would like to see the chord fingerings in each of the scales

### 5/5 — Fantastic tool.

*2022-05-30*

I am not a stringed instrument player, they have confounded me for decades (honestly it's a cognitive disconnect). But with this tool I finally feel in command. I tell it what I want to play and how I want to play it and it shows me how to accomplish that goal. I tell it that I want to see what that song would look like on a completely different instrument or tuning and it shows me... Fantastic. The app itself is deep and complex and could benefit from some simplification in the UI. If I had not been someone who has been using computers for music since the 80s I might have been a bit more lost. As it turned out, I still found it challenging. The developer needs better documentation and a good set of how to movies right away. To avoid people getting frustrated. I did have a problem with the app not showing me common fingerings of basic mandolin and ukulele chords but I emailed the developer and got a response that was honest and clear the same day. I am confident he is actively working on this project and dedicated to making it better. Good thing too, because it is great. If this had been available 30 years ago I would be calling myself a string player today.

*Update May 30th 2022*
Thanks so much for the Apple silicon version! I don’t have a M1 Mac yet, but I will soon and it’s great to know I will be able to use this there as well.

### 5/5 — The best Chord! app ever

*2022-05-22, version 2.7.11*

I’ve been using Chord! for quite some time and I just have good things to say about it! It’s just the best! ♥️🙏🏼🤘🏼

### 5/5 — Must-Have

*2022-03-17*

This is a must-have App for beginners and intermediate guitar players looking to learn a wide variety of chords AND for advanced players looking to arrange and find new ways to play around with theory. ONLY gripe is that the UX can be a little obtuse at first, but you learn it relatively quickly.

### 5/5 — Use it daily

*2022-03-03, version 2.7.11*

I use it daily and I can’t recommend it enough.

### 5/5 — Bonne app

*2021-11-24*

Bonjour
Pas évident sur certains points
- Drop

Cordialement, Thomas

### 4/5 — steep learning curve

*2021-09-24*

i often use this app to “reverse search chords” when playing new ideas by ear. It would be great if i could immediately save the notes i selected on the neck as a new chord fingering. as it stands, i need to click the fingering area in the top right, and often going through the additional pain of creating a custom fingering (or scrolling endlessly through the generated fingerings looking for the one in inputted on the neck)

this app seems very powerful, but i do not yet feel as if i totally know how to use it. more tutorials and guidance would be great.

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2021-08-23, version 2.7.9*

Truly amazing work!!!!!
I would love to see a tab builder in the future!
Thank you for your hard work!

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2021-07-30, version 2.7.9*

This app is a gem. Since it has so much to offer, there is a bit of a learning curve, but so worth the effort. Also, I had a question early on, and the developer responded right away. Along with iReal Pro, Chord! is a great addition to my music toolbox. Thanks.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Dreadful

*2025-04-27, version 2.8.2*

Limited. Just over complicated but supplied with music scores like 'Mary Had A Little Lamb'. Not a nice App to use and I wish I'd never parted with money for it.

### 1/5 — Review

*2024-02-28, version 2.8.2*

I am very annoyed with this app. I never once opened the app and it immediately started a subscription that I didn’t agree to. I now “owe” $5

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on my iPhone with iOS 17.2

*2023-12-15, version 2.8.2*

Disappointed. Will try to get a refund.

### 1/5 — Needs basic user instructions

*2021-03-15, version 2.7.8*

Seems like an app with a lot to offer but not at all intuitive to use and I use many composition apps (tonaly, Earpeggio, etc)with no problems. The YouTube feature video is besot with pleas of frustration from promote who want clear instructions. You can do better and I wish you would!

### 1/5 — Problems when harmonising scales

*2019-02-27, version 2.6.2*

When I harmonise the A harmonic minor scale, the chord diagrams label the vii chord as Ab dim, rather than G# dim. Obviously they are enharmonic equivalents, but the labelling, whilst correctly displayed in the scale detail view is incorrect in the chord diagrams view. This is a serious issue that could lead to confusion. I will update my app rating once this is fixed: a blemish on an otherwise brilliant app requiring urgent attention.

### 1/5 — Pfff

*2018-01-02, version 2.6.2*

What a waste of time and money, not at all what I imagined from the reviews, way to much messing around, when I’m using a guitar app I have my guitar in my lap and I’m ready to go an app like this requires far to much attention, there are much better apps out there..

### 1/5 — Pas ergonomique

*2017-09-16*

Zero

### 1/5 — Unverständlich

*2015-10-09*

*2015-01-18*

### 1/5 — chord

*2014-07-25*

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very good guitar chord app

*2026-01-17*

The UI takes getting used to, but once you figure it out, it is quite powerful and better than most guitar apps out there. My only wishes are:

1. that you could get the actual notes instead of just fret dots on the chord collection and songwriting modules instead of having to export to pdf or single chord drill downs just to see the notes

2. Chord collections let you play the sound of the chords for ear training instead of having to put them in a song first.

3. that export also retained the scale degree colors.

I still gave it 5 stars because again it still beats most apps, but these things keep it from being perfect.

### 5/5 — The perfect guitar app

*2025-11-02, version 2.8.2*

So many cool tools! Especially the reverse search!

### 5/5 — Musicians Best Friend and Assistant.

*2025-06-02*

This App has thought me so much about theory, I also keep track of all of my works in it, helps me with new ideas, it is also a fantastic tool for analyzing pieces and so much more. It takes a little to get the best of it, but it’s worth learning it. It always presents a few bugs here and there very randomly, but it is definitely the best app of its kind by far! I’ve been using it for over 5 years now and it is a must have for me.

### 5/5 — Best chord app

*2025-05-12, version 2.8.2*

Used for years, killer resource for chords, scales, anything music!!!

### 5/5 — MAC OS

*2025-03-19, version 2.8.2*

Please update to support MacOS again !

### 5/5 — Perfect for Songwriters

*2025-02-26, version 2.8.2*

Love this app! Can choose flats as a default (happy sigh), there’s a reverse chord look up (yas!), and you can tweak all the settings, or none of them. I’m guessing this is designed by a muso! You win the internet today 🙌 Thank you 🙏

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2024-12-23, version 2.8.2*

Great app

### 5/5 — Espectacular, trabajar con esta aplicación es sorprendente.

*2023-12-10, version 2.8.2*

Fantastico
