The chord timeline is fine, but would be nice to have arpeggios, or maybe strumming and less or control random (based on current chord timeline), maybe also jazz chord and custom chords that can be interactive ### 3/5 — Stuck Notes *2026-06-11* Works well besides the fact I have disable the Auv after stopping play. One bug down, one to go. *2024-01-02* I appreciate you fixing the playback bug where Chordbud2 now starts playing back on beat 1 in Cubasis. Thank you for that fix! I’ve stumbled into another anomaly, which I presume to be an easy code fix. When changing a simple major triad chord to a b5 chord, ChordBud 2 is changing the chord to mb5. Huh? It was not a minor chord to begin with—all I want is the 5th lowered a half step so that the new chord formula is: 1, 3, b5 If it’s a minor chord to begin with, then sure, change it mb5 when I select b5, otherwise, leave the rest of the chord alone. And, yes, I write music with those kind ofchords, as I’m sure filmmakers do, too. Thanks, Cem!! P.S. Notice I upgraded my rating for you fixing the playback bug. Much thanks for that fix. **Developer response:** Hello, the new version fixes that issue. ### 3/5 — It doesn’t start playing on the 1st beat in Cubasis *2023-12-02* Suggestion: Add a manual option to turn on/off Sync with the Host because the auto-syncing in the code isn’t functioning correctly. The pointer that tracks where it’s playing never returns all the way to the beginning of the track when I use Rewind to Start in the Host Transporter. This is a serious bug. Please fix this. This app used to work correctly, as shown in Leo’s 3 year old Tutorial. The new version fixes the issue, thanks. ### 3/5 — Chord options are still limited *2022-02-18* Still lacking simple functions like omitting fifths, or adding specific notes/intervals to a chord. You can get some great use out of this app if you’re using simple chord symbols (stuff like 7, M7, add9, sus4, 6/9, b11, etc.) but you can’t, for example, play any of these chords without the fifth, or without the third. You can’t play jazzy/bluesy chords that are difficult to define, either. There are all sorts of chords that are impossible to generate with traditional chord notation, and so it’s disappointing to see these left out. Please add an “omit X interval” function for each chord. Also, rhythm is very limited and almost non-functional. You can split chords into very large chunks, but there’s really no way to divide into 1/16ths or triplets or anything of that nature. Overall, great for quick sketches and simple grooves, but unable to create anything more complex. ### 3/5 — 3 beats..?? *2022-02-09* I just bought the app. I think I must be missing something. Well, you get to the second balloon, and that’s where the tutorial stops working. “Let’s select one chord and start!” But while you can select one chord, or as many as you want, you can’t go any further. It’s says auv but it’s iaa. **Developer response:** Hello, you can load it inside beatmaker as AUv3 MIDI plugin but the recording is a bit tricky due to beatmaker’s lack of MIDI plugin support. Using in AUM, cubase or nanostudio might be better. ### 1/5 — Does not work with Garage Band as Audio Unit *2021-02-10* Says it’s an Audio Unit. Does not appear as audio unit only as inter app audio . WASTE OF MONEY **Developer response:** MIDI Plugins don't work with Garageband. It's not your fault being pepega :((( ### 2/5 — Missing Time Signature *2024-02-05* How do you setup time signatures like 3/4, 6/8, etc. ? ### 2/5 — None of these apps work in beatmaker 3 *2021-10-07* No matter what I try these apps won’t let you record in beatmaker 3. I bought the bundle to use in beatmaker 3 midi fx. It will let you hit play and the apps will work with whatever sound your using but no matter what it won’t record. Your apps say compatible with beatmaker 3 but that isn’t so. Would like my money back being your apps are useless in a iOS DAW **Developer response:** BeatMaker’s MIDI AUv3 recording is tricky. You can do it with another tool called MIDI Route by AudioVeek. You basically cannot record any other MIDI AUv3 without that technic. That’s not ChordBud’s failure. You can find some tutorials on youtube about that as well. I’ve just used it to create a chord sequence and I’m very impressed with how easy it is to use. I’ve also found out that this app works in Beatmaker 3 as well so that’s an unexpected bonus for me. ### 5/5 — Outstanding *2020-09-20* I have spent my first day working with this app and the related Rhythm Bud (auv3) and I am astounded how productive both units are. The music theory engine in ChordBud is comprehensive, accessible and the creative possibilities are immense. This app will definitely increase and improve my work flow. In my opinion this app fills a massive resource void in the AUV3 world. In the first 25 minutes of use I had created an expressive Legato string section without the need to access an external sequencer or port material in from my computer. If I had wish it would be the possibility of importing a midi track such as a piano motif so that a chord accompaniment could be created in a single environment.
