I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! **Developer response:** The app was updated in Sept. 2025. When the app appears to be not working, usually the MIDI information from ChordMapMidi isn't arriving at whichever synth app you have chosen to play. There is a free downloadable pdf at the website ( mugglinworks.com/ChordMapMidi ) which helps to explain the setup procedure. ### 1/5 — Was cool but needs update *2018-05-30, version 1.0* With a virtual private network and Ableton this was awesome. It's a revision of a touch midi program. It doesn't have minor chords which is a let down. Most electronic music uses minor chords. You should also make this app easier to connect to a DAW. But without minor chords this is a incomplete and useless app. I don't know why developers think its ok to release things like this.. Thankfully virtual midi still works (for now). Also the dev promised to bring us minor key but that never happened. That would bring it back to life! ## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Nothing out there like this. *2026-07-18* I am a music teacher, and a lot of my students want to learn how to write songs but can’t play piano or guitar well enough yet to accompany themselves - and this app, paired with something to make sounds, is a brilliant way to get a budding songwriter of any age to get past the first stumbling blocks and start feeling and hearing how chord progressions work. I also love getting people started thinking about chords in terms of their meaning, rather than just their letter names - iv7 instead of Fm7 for example. If this app included a simple piano sound as a toggle-able option to create sound, it would be a PERFECT teaching tool for this teacher. Just sayin’. The layout is simple and you won't find anything else on the App Store that offers such an array of chord structures that you can trigger in a variety of ways. Still works on ios7. ### 5/5 — E J R *2012-07-15* This is a brilliant app for writing songs. Just connect via midi to a DAW and a complete novice like me can knock out a song structure in minutes. Works brilliantly with iOS synths apps, excellent Addictive synth pad chord progressions especially. I've struggled to understand chord progressions but here are all the common possibilities laid out in a very logical manner . Many thanks to the developer and a plea for a minor key version soon. ### 5/5 — Really Amazing *2012-06-23* I have just about every midi controller and didn't think I needed another one, but this is so very different! It does inversions and complex chordings and it is just really awesome. With this, you can choose wrong chords and actually be more musical as you hear and feel them. It is truly remarkable when paired with grain science, thumbjam, and the arpeggiator on Cassini. Don't pass up this awesome controller. On each of the pads, you can set it up to play three separate chordings as well as the inversion and octave buttons. No regrets getting this great tool. ### 5/5 — Just like the desktop app *2012-06-17, version 1.0* It was a desktop app that was begging for this conversion. Well done guys, works well.
