## What is ChoreOrbit?

ChoreOrbit is a private household operations console for couples, roommates, and families who want recurring work to stay visible, dependable, and fair.

Instead of reducing home upkeep to a generic checklist, ChoreOrbit attaches every work order to the place and equipment it protects. Plan the acceptable service window, keep prerequisite work visible, forecast available capacity, and preserve a clear handoff when the work closes.

RUN THE HOUSE BY ZONE AND ASSET

Create named zones such as Kitchen, Utility, Entry, or Exterior. Add maintained assets with useful reference notes, then connect each recurring work order to the right place and item.

PROTECT SERVICE WINDOWS

A target date can include an early-start allowance and grace period. ChoreOrbit explains whether work is queued, ready, late, blocked, or at capacity risk. Choose fixed planned-date recurrence when a schedule must not drift, or recur from completion when that is the right cadence.

MAKE DEPENDENCIES INSPECTABLE

Require prerequisite work before a dependent order can be completed. ChoreOrbit removes circular chains when saving and shows exactly what remains blocked in the current service cycle.

PLAN REAL CAPACITY

Give each household member a daily planning capacity and estimate the effort for every work order. The Operations console compares the next seven days of assigned effort with available capacity and surfaces overloaded days before work stacks up.

RECOVER MISSED WORK

Recovery Plan waits until a grace window closes, then suggests a lighter viable day without changing the current assignee or rotation. Every accepted move records the original date, new date, owner, and reason locally.

HAND OFF WITH EVIDENCE

Add a reusable playbook and definition of done. Completion records snapshot the zone, asset, handoff standard, and completed playbook coverage. Recurring playbooks reset for the next cycle without losing their instructions.

ChoreOrbit is an organization utility. It does not monitor people, judge performance, or enforce household agreements.

### 2.2 — 2026-08-26

ChoreOrbit now organizes recurring work by named zones and maintained assets. Add service windows, planned or completion-based recurrence, prerequisite work, per-person capacity, and a clear definition of done.

The new Operations console explains blocked, late, ready, and overloaded work. Recovery Plan now respects grace windows and capacity, while completion records preserve local handoff evidence and playbook coverage.

This update also streamlines iPhone and iPad navigation and upgrades local backups to include every new operations record.

### 2.0 — 2026-08-08

Version 2.0 adds Balance Forecast with deterministic workload projections, effort-aware household shares, pressure-day detection, strict-improvement recommendations, confirmation before applying changes, and sharing

This release also refreshes the native iPhone and iPad experience, accessibility, privacy boundaries, and App Store screenshots. There are no accounts, subscriptions, advertising, tracking, or developer-operated services.

**See your progress**
A new Insights tab turns your completed chores into something you can actually look at: a day streak, your best-ever streak, completions this week, and simple bar charts of the last two weeks and who in the household has done what. It all builds from the chores you mark done — nothing to set up.

**A gentle daily nudge**
Turn on a single daily reminder at a time you pick. It quietly tells you how many chores are due that day, so things stop slipping through the cracks. It runs entirely on your device — no account, no internet.

**Back up everything to one file**
Save your chores, household members, and full history into a single file you can keep in Files or move to another device, then restore it any time. Your data stays yours.

Everything is still 100% offline: no account, no ads, no tracking.

What's New in ChoreOrbit 1.2

ChoreOrbit finally does what its name promises - real chore rotation, not just a to-do list.

Recurring chores
Set a chore to repeat every day, every few days, weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. Marking it done now reschedules it to the next occurrence automatically instead of leaving it stuck on "done."

Fair auto-rotation
Add the people in your household, then put a chore on a rotation. Each time it's completed, it hands off to the next person - a fair round-robin so the not-so-fun jobs get shared. Tap "Done & rotate," or skip a turn when someone covers for someone else.

Workload balance
A new balance view in the Toolkit shows a per-person tally of completed chores plus a fairness score, from "Even split" to "One person carrying it." It makes the invisible work visible.

Richer exports
Plain-text and CSV exports now include who's assigned, the repeat cadence, and completion counts - plus a dedicated workload-balance CSV you can drop into a spreadsheet.
