## What is ChoreStar?

ChoreStar helps parents organize household chores, build daily routines, and keep track of allowance for the whole family. You set each child up once, and from then on they can check off their own tasks while you keep an overview of what has been done and what has been earned.

Now native on iPhone and iPad, with a home screen widget and routine timers in the Dynamic Island.

For parents
• Add each child with a color avatar or a photo
• Assign daily and weekly chores, each with its own reward amount
• Build morning, bedtime, and after-school routines
• Review earnings, streaks, and history at a glance
• Manage several children, each with a separate schedule
• Share access with a co-parent so you both stay in sync

A simple view for your children
• They sign in with a 4-digit PIN, so no email address is required
• Chores can be checked off as they are finished
• Routines guide them through one step at a time, with optional countdown timers
• Badges are awarded for streaks and for completing a full week

Allowance tracking
Choose a reward per chore, or a flat rate for the day. ChoreStar totals earnings automatically as chores are completed, so there is no tally to keep by hand.

Routines that run themselves
Build a routine from named steps with icons and optional timers, ordered by drag and drop. Children can then work through it independently, and the timer for the current step appears on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.

Make it your own
A home screen widget shows the family's progress for the day. Seasonal and premium themes change the appearance through the year, and a custom accent color carries across your devices.

Works with chorestar.app
Family data syncs between the web app, iPhone, and iPad, so everyone sees the same information.

Privacy
Family data is never shared or sold. Because children sign in with a PIN, no child provides an email address or any personal information.

Free and Premium
• Free: up to 3 children, 20 chores, badges, and routines
• Premium: unlimited children and chores, premium themes, and co-parent sharing

Built by a parent, for families who would like less nagging and more cooperation.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.7 — 2026-08-22

Version 1.7 helps you feel progress without opening the app.

• Activity alerts: tap a push when a kid finishes all chores or a routine to jump straight to their page — turn these on or off in Settings
• Widget deep links: tap Today's Progress (or a child on the medium widget) to open the right place in ChoreStar
• New Lock Screen rectangular widget shows who's ahead on today's chores

### 1.6 — 2026-08-21

Version 1.6 fixes chore deletion.

• Fixed: deleting a chore could remove the wrong chore from the list, leave a "deleted" chore that came back, or crash the app — deletes now always confirm the chore you picked and remove exactly that one
• Fixed: if a delete fails (for example, while offline), the app now tells you instead of failing silently

### 1.5 — 2026-08-20

Version 1.5 adds a Week view to the Chores tab and improves accessibility throughout the app.

• Week at a glance: a new Week segment on the Chores tab shows each child's full week of chores, with a quick switcher between children
• Accessibility: better VoiceOver support, larger touch targets, Dynamic Type on titles, and higher-contrast text in both light and dark mode
• Fixed: weekly summary stats no longer wrap onto two lines
