## What is Chowdy?

Chowdy helps you decide what to eat this week, then makes the shopping easy.

Build a plan for a few days or two full weeks. Choose the recipes yourself, or let Chef, the in-app assistant, fill the gaps. When the plan looks right, one tap turns it into a grocery list sorted by department, with anything already in your pantry left off.

PLAN
• Plans from 1 to 14 days, with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
• A different meal each day, and every slot is yours to change
• Batch cooking: make extra once and schedule the leftovers
• Calorie and macro targets if you want them. Enter your own or use the built-in calculator

SHOP
• One grocery list for the whole plan, grouped by department
• Pantry tracking, so you don't buy what you already have
• In-Store Mode: a checklist built for walking the aisles
• Reminders for shopping day and prep day

COOK
• Save recipes to your Recipe Book, scale the servings, and add your own notes and ratings
• Change an ingredient and Chowdy saves it as your version
• Cook Mode walks you through a recipe one step at a time
• Filter by meal type, time, cuisine, and calories, or by diet: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, keto, paleo, and more

CHOWDY PRO
Planning, grocery lists, the pantry, and your Recipe Book are free. A Chowdy Pro subscription adds:
• Chef. Ask for a full week of meals, a different dinner for Thursday, or a way to use up what's in the fridge. Chef suggests and you decide, and anything Chef can do you can also do by hand
• Auto-shop. Chef matches your grocery list to real products and adds them to your Kroger cart, including Kroger-family stores such as Ralphs and Fred Meyer. You review the cart and check out with Kroger
• Recipe import from a link, a photo, or a description
• Pantry updates from a photo of a receipt or a shelf

Chef is powered by AI and can make mistakes. Always check ingredients against your own allergies and dietary needs. Chowdy is a planning tool and does not give medical or nutrition advice. Chowdy is an independent app and is not affiliated with Kroger.

### 5/5 — Awesome, low-cost, customizable meal-prepping app

*2026-10-05*

I've been looking for what feels like FOREVER for a decent meal planning app. I decided to give Chowdy a try and it actually factors in my likes, dislikes, and macros! Plus the recipes are pretty easy to follow. It has saved me so much time. The fact that it connects directly to the grocery store and that it's way cheaper than meal kit services, has put it above and beyond all of the others I have tried. Definitely worth checking out if you're into meal prepping, or if you just struggle to think of what to eat like I do.
