What's New in CHPMap

9.1.2

September 26, 2026

See every incident at a glance. • Incidents are no longer grouped into numbered bubbles by default — every pin shows at any zoom, and no pin is hidden just because it overlaps a neighbour. Prefer the bubbles? Settings ▸ Group Nearby Incidents turns them back on. • Includes the 9.1.1 fixes: cached incidents stay on the map at launch, and swiping the incident sheet away no longer triggers extra downloads.

Crashing

Will not work on Apple devices

Useless but not their fault

It’s not the software, it must be the CHP but a lot of incidents on state and federal highways are just not appearing on the map. I used to rely on it but can’t anymore. Today there was a major incident on highway 29 in Napa County. It never was on the map. Last week 3 lanes blocked on US 101 in Santa Rosa. Never was on the map. The app is now useless. The incidents are also not appearing on the CHP incidents site, so it’s the CHP’s fault.

Push Notifications

You seem to have to know some kind of ICU programing language just to configure the push notifications. Ther are no instrucitons that I can find on how to do this from the app creator.

Nicely done

I’ve been using this for years. It’s very useful for getting accurate up to date info on CHP calls. I’m not sure what I’d do without it.

So frustrating

Update: I would like my money back if you cannot fix the problem please. I have removed and downloaded the app 20+ times and still can not get it to work. Thank you for updating but it's still not working! I'm about to give up.
