I submitted three stars, mainly as a neutral position, as I have yet to really accurately assess the quality of this site at this time. I can’t just look through who is out there. I am limited to their algorithm generated choices that are recommended at random. And I’m not being picky. A lot of features are lost such as viewing when someone was last online, preferences updating instantly, etc. It has gotten dumbed down and now it feels like I am trapped in a box. App Version 6.0 Vastly OverSimplifies the experience, and loses most of the functionality of app v5.2. I demoted you from a 5-stars rating, ⬇️ to 2 ⭐️ ! The biggest problem with the update is the “Matching” feature supersedes our ability to tweak/toggle between settings in our account on-the-fly. Meaning that users are stuck with matches the algorithm has assigned you (age criteria is 100% accurate ✅, geography is about 30% accurate ❌). I used to toggle between ages ~5 years and geography 100 to 200 miles, but now I’m stuck with whatever geographical radius the algorithm matches, and many of these far exceed even the 200, closer to 300miles which is very impractical for dating a complete stranger. Here’s what you GAIN in the new version: *Larger Profile Picture tiles—Auto-framed to face *More compatibility Questions, but a shorter blurb— now only 512 characters for “About Me” *A “Thumbs Up” feature for photos, captions, hobbies (that cannot be reversed!) *”Pins” have replaced “Hearts”/Liked *The new “Have you Met” 🏹 tab, which replaces the old “Look Book,” has major algorithmic flaws. But this is also the only way to find new profiles apart from the “Visitors” or very sparse “My Matches” tab. Plus, you can’t view any of the Have You Met profiles to take a deeper look— CM just assumes you will go straight to a smile or message based solely off of the photo/hometown. It used to work independently of the message tab👎 Here’s what you LOSE: *Lost All Geographical relevance of Singles!! It now takes 24 hours to update any preference, so if you toggle from 100mile radius to 200miles, just stare at your clock for a day. And I hope you are ready to use your frequent-flyer miles, because even if you say 100 miles/extremely important in preferences, you’ll still be seeing results from 300+ …from that one time you looked farther 👎 *Lost Any information on Divorced/Widowed!!! This was highly relevant for staying “equally yoked.” 👎 *Can’t see another profile’s preferences of “Marriage & Kids”; “Friend & Activity Partner,” their prefered ages, etc… OR their preferences for geographical range. *Lost The Ability to Archive conversations (now you can only block&delete old messages, which is 1 action)👎 *Lost the Ability to Hide Your Profile (all Discovery Preferences removed)👎 *Lost Visibility to see other profiles’ activity frequency (the Green Dot indicator/“Message Read” receipt/Last LogIn occurrence), so now old accounts abandoned 3+ months ago appears the same as new accounts 👎 *Removed photo sharing in messages… Sorry, after 3 months on this app (and now a botched reboot) I want a Divorce 😂… or at least I’m sending your developers to couples therapy. You really need to make search preferences more user friendly. I realize version 5.2 probably had too many privacy concerns. But I’m not letting a matching algorithm play matchmaker when many of those functions could have been tweaked, not removed. A dating App shouldn’t be modeled after Spotify. ### 1/5 — Disappointing and obnoxious *2025-03-26, version 6.0.9* For being a Christian app you would think they would want you to find love more than others. But nope. You take all that time to build a profile and then they want to charge an obscene amount to even be able to send one message. This is by far the worst app I’ve ever seen for dating. While I appreciate the effort to provide a compatibility number, it would be helpful if there were more detailed insights into what makes people compatible. Additionally, the 24-hour wait for new matches seems a bit excessive. It would be more effective to show users their compatible matches in real time. This would enhance the experience and feel less like a tactic to encourage month-to-month subscriptions. Overall, I believe there’s potential for improvement that could make the platform more user-friendly and engaging. ### 1/5 — Save your money *2025-03-19, version 6.0.8* This app had very little people in my area and it seemed like it kept putting people in my feed that are not actively using it. This app may have been good once but today there isn’t any real interactions or connections to be made. I know my password, but when I attempt to log in, it says my email address is not recognized. When I attempt to reset my password, an email is never sent to me. I’ve written Customer Care and no one has gotten back to me yet. I will submit a claim with my bank for Services Not Rendered. What a waste of my time. I would leave a zero star rating if I could, but a one star rating is the lowest allowed. ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2025-05-20, version 6.0.12* So dumb!! You can’t do anything unless you pay. Don’t use!!! *2025-05-17, version 6.0.12* I downloaded this app and paid for 1 month with no automatic renewal and like many of the other reviews on here, my account was deleted after the month trial but my “subscription” kept being renewed months after and my cc was charged 49.99 a month with no confirmation emails and no way to log back in. This seems to be frequent on here!! The app stopped working. I’ve reached out to ChristianMingle 5 times. I even sent them screenshots of the message errors and still they haven’t fixed anything. They don’t have a contact number to reach them. I really trusted the site based on the Christian standards that I thought they would uphold. Now I have to figure out how to cancel my subscription because no one’s reaching out. This is literally the biggest regret I’ve had in a while. Don’t trust this site. Don’t pay anything. Until ChristianMingle fixes this, I’m going to spread the word all over social media! First, I was hoping it was genuinely a “Christian” site, but it’s just a corporate dating platform business. This particular version is, “Christian”. But that’s less of an issue. It feels like a scam because there is so little to it. You answer plenty of questions, but they don’t even allow people to see them all. You can’t search a database. And it forces you to either smile at or permanently delete a profile to see any more than their pictures. You have to wait for daily matches/suggestions. It’s about as bad as it could get. I’m just gonna go on another platform that gives me control of my experience. I’m extremely disappointed. Thank God I did not pay for a year, as there is a strict no-refund policy and I was ready for one in less than 24-hours from signing up. ### 1/5 — Christians do NOT marry with unbelievers *2025-04-16, version 6.0.10* This app is flooded with profiles of people who are not Christians. If you are a Christian, remember that the Lord commands you not to marry with an unbeliever. Also the people seem to be way older than they report, therefore they are lying about who their age. As for the implementation of this dating app itself, unless you upgrade to PREMIUM ($53 per month), you will not be able to contact others, therefore the free version of the app is useless if you're the one pursuing, conversely it is useful if you are someone being sought after. Dating apps in general are designed with the understanding that women are far less likely to spend money on the platform, as they generally receive more attention and can find sexual opportunities more easily. Knowing this, the app will tend to cater to women with the goal of capitalizing on the female profiles, employing those to attract desperate, vulnerable males, ultimately to exploit male users for money. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best Results, room for improvement *2025-02-01, version 5.2.5* So I’ve used the CM App for 1 month, and here’s my review: Great geographic array of Singles, and the visual interface and privacy are all very presentable and respectful. But 2 recommendations for the App Developers: 1. Please add the following Denominations: A. Congregational (“Church of Christ” is vague and could be confused with COGIC), B. Quaker, and C. Mormon/LDS, D. JW E. Unitarian etc. I find the “Other Religion” category to be sort of irrelevant/unsavory. 2. HomeSchooling. You already ask about education, so please add this subset. I’m finding this to be a troublesome issue, where Was Homeschooled/Want-To HomeSchool is a major factor in both the past & future of relationships. Also, sending Audio in direct-messages would be a welcome addition. Do Not Fall For This Scam! Stay away from this company. If you were scammed like this, you have to sue them to get your money back as Google or Apple will not do anything to help you. Update: There is absolutely nothing that justifies asking for a person’s Driver’s License. This is clearly breach of personal information that can be compromised by anyone. I have to collect the first refund through my bank since, Satan’s customer service team doesn’t work for CM. They after 10 days have never acknowledged 1 email I’ve sent , their have been 3 so far each time I send a copy of bank statement with the charge on it. But I’ve just given up hope 1 of my emails came back undeliverable when I sent through my email to website at bottom the the email they send if you have concerns or question lol. But my mind was made up when it costs so much just for the chance to talk to someone. Besides advertising, I don't how else you'd make money. But honestly I think you'd make a good profit by advertising and letting users send messages or see who likes their profile for free. You can still keep all those other benefits exclusive but your charging a lot just for a conversation. If I hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t have been able to message or respond to messages, and I wouldn’t have been able to talk to my boyfriend of a little over a year now! I will always and forever be grateful to ChristianMingle for connecting us. However, I do think that what you charge for membership is steep. $35 per month is outrageous! I can’t remember what it is for over packages, like 6 months and a year at a time, but I know it’s still high. Whereas other dating apps like Tinder charges something like $20 for a 6-month membership. Much more reasonable. You also should be able to have access to basic features like messaging matches without paying IMO. I also didn’t entirely like HOW I was matched to people in my area. I feel like no one came up in my area that fit into my filters or conditions at all. Of course, I ended up meeting and dating someone from a different state. Overall, though, I give this app 4/5 stars because of the issues I mentioned.
