I needed to be able to simulate different levels of color blindness of signage in the “real world” and as installed. This was a great way to verify that our public messaging was able to be read by people with different levels of color sensitivity.

Professor Asada did the world an enormous favor by creating this tool. All  educators at any level should download it immediately and show it to their students. It shows the instant impact of colour design, on how teachers use the whiteboard / chalkboard and presentation materials. By using this app, you can prevent making resources which are ambiguous or confusing. If your organisation has any “Alert/Emergency” resources, take a look at them through this app and see if they really are functioning as alerts. Inclusive design starts with all of us. Download it today! Plus enable screen colour filters if needed.

I like it, and I like being able to select more than one kind to display, though it could have simulation of partial color deficiency, maybe with a slider for how much. It might also use some “About…” text popup that explains the app and how to use it.

One might also mention simulating dog vision - dogs have red-green color deficiency.

みんなにとって見やすいデザインを作りたいと常々思っていたので、こういうアプリがあってうれしいです！
画像加工だけでなくカメラがあるのも、PC画面に照らしたりできるので便利です

Can’t believe how long I’ve had this app and yet it has never given me any issues. It has been super useful both for design work and as an educational tool.
I just have one small suggestion - it would be nice if the different types were explained somewhere so I don’t have to Google what the terms mean.

処理も早いし便利！
グラフを作る際の色選択や、イラストを描く際に参考にできそうです。

Fantastic tool for designers to check accessibility of concepts. It’s also a real eye-opener to walk around with this app running and observe the impact of these vision differences on signage and other environmental graphics and the world in general. I point this app at work on my screen, printed graphics, existing signage etc. It’s simple but so useful. Thanks for developing it!

I wanted to see things the way my boyfriend does so that I could understand his condition better and hopefully be better at picking colors for him! This gives a wicked side-by-side comparison. Awesome app!

This app is amazing. We only found out our 10yo son is colourblind this week. I was distraught! Couldn’t get my head round it (he is strong Protan). This app totally changed things for me! I’ve been using it to check out what clothes look like to him online before buying. I selfie myself to see how I look to him in what I’m wearing. (I am shocked that skin is grey). I’ve put in photos from days out at beauty spots and am relieved these places looked beautiful to him too - just different. I now know he sees blue and yellow, and then mostly varying shades of brown and grey! How we and teachers have not picked up on it I do not know!!! This app has helped his friends to understand and I think (hope) his teacher will use it too. 
Honestly I am addicted to it!!!!! I have taken photos of everything in the house!!! The only thing of course is I don’t know where to place the slider really but it doesn’t matter if what I am seeing is not identical. It gives me a close idea and for that I cannot thank you enough. I went from feeling utterly distressed to high as a kite within minutes of using this app. THANK YOU!!!!

I use this app extensively when making presentations for large audiences at work, and live event signage. It has been an invaluable tool to show the sales and marketing departments so they can create content viewable by everyone.

My grandpa is color blind. Has been for about 70 years now. We all worked together to get him color vision glasses. We figured out he cannot see red or green. The whole world looked so shockingly brown and olive almost like a black and white movie with surprising splashes of blue or yellow.

We used this to decorate the room, choose our outfits, the cupcakes and even a bright red and green rose. He is VERY stoic and even his wife almost never saw him cry but he did. His comment was “You mean you guys see this ALL the time!? I never knew it was so beautiful.”

Use this to understand your family/friends. Then please go get them color vision glasses because it is a beautiful gift that means more than you can imagine. Grandpa is now relearning what colors are called what. This app was a great creations thank you.

ユニバーサルカラーの色彩検定を受ける際にインストールして、とても役に立ちました。
色覚異常の方の見え方以外に高齢者の見え方も導入して頂けたら、仕事などでも高齢の方向けの資料作りに役立つので良いと思います。

My 9 year old son is color blind & we struggle to understand what he sees. I was optimistic this would help, but he said this alters the colors in a different way than he actually sees. Didn’t work for us.

This is a fabulous app.  We used this to help us understand our autistic CVD son's perspective.  We mistakenly didn't share our location upon opening today and the app shut down.  We can't get it back.  It's loaded but not activating.  We are so sad.....we tried to delete and download again.  That didn't work.  We are heartbroken to have lost this valuable tool.  There is nothing better.  This tool is amazing.  We are so grateful for the limited time we had it and deeply saddened that we lost it for merely touching a wrong space on a tiny screen.

私は正常色覚に分類される女性です。
同じでも、非常に不便そうだな、という理解はうまれるので役割は果たしているかもしれません。

If you know a bit about color blindness. You know it’s some cones of color perception overlap. But I feel like the app just assumes the entire wavelength the cones pick up overlap based on which colorblind type you pick. So my mom just assumes all reds I see are brown but I’ve never mixed up a red and brown in my life. It’s good for picking up girls tho

as someone who’s colorblind, i get the question “what color is this? what do you see?” a lot. Whenever this question gets brought up i just show them this app and let them look around. The reactions are always fun and it’s always interesting to hear what they have to say. It’s really helpful understanding what i’m missing out as well. The reactions from other people tells me that i see the world in very dull colors.

I’ve been using this app for about a year now to help people understand colorblindness and it is so much easier and more effective than trying to tell people verbally what the world looks like to me. I really think the cherry on top of this app would be to add a function where we could export videos using the colorblind filters, as I have not been able to find any other application that provides that feature.

So many over-complicated colorblind simulators out there but this one outperforms them all. It’s simple and no frills, has three colorblind type variations, and the combo of camera and photo library options means I can basically test anything I need to when it comes to color accessibility. This tool is a godsend for anyone working in digital compliance!

分かった時は心がえぐられるようなショックでした。子ども自身もとてもショックだったようです。
しかし、私がこのアプリと出会い、色覚異常の説明写真などでは表せない、光による色の輝きなども感じ取れて見えたことで、綺麗な息子の色の世界を知りました。
「あなたの色の世界も、統一感があってロマンチックな、とても素敵な色の世界ね」と言った時の、息子の満足そうな顔は一生忘れません。

こんにちは。NHKの番組からこのアプリを知りました。
大変良いアプリでした。
いきなり要望で心苦しいのですが
「健常者が色弱者の見え方を体験する」
ではなく
「色弱者が健常者の見え方を体験する」
こっちのモードを実装出来ませんでしょうか？
私も色弱者ですが、自分が作った物や選んだ色が健常者にはどう見えているのか確認する術がありません
このアプリでその機能が備わっていれば色弱者からも有用なアプリになると思うのですが
いかがでしょうか
何卒ご一考頂ければ幸いです

教員です。 NHKの番組を見てこのアプリにたどり着きました。学校では、黒板の色が判別しにくい色覚の生徒のため、最近は蛍光チョークを用いているのですが、実際にはどんな風に見えているのかとても気になっていたので、百聞は一見に如かずで、ストンと落ちました。

不便な点がないように配慮していきたいと思ったのと同時に、これもまた、美しい世界だと気付きました。開発してくださり、ありがとうございます。
