## What is Chronic Friends?

Living with a chronic condition can feel lonely and hard to explain. Chronic Friends gives you one warm, private place to record how you really feel, see your own patterns, and connect with people who truly understand — because they live it too.

Chronic Friends is dedicated exclusively to chronic illness. It supports Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, IBS, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, psoriasis, endometriosis, asthma, COPD, diabetes, chronic fatigue (ME/CFS), migraine, anxiety, depression and many more — around 50 conditions in total, organized by body system, so you only see the trackers that matter to you. Living with more than one condition? Follow several at once.

YOUR DAILY CHECK-IN
• One quick journal a day: pain, energy, sleep, food, movement, mood and more
• Extra questions adapted to your conditions: joints, skin, eyes, digestion, breathing, pelvic health, mind
• A calendar that shows good days and hard days at a glance

SEE YOUR OWN PATTERNS
• Clear charts of everything you log, over weeks, months or years
• My Flare Radar brings your recent entries together in one visual — a conversation starter for your next appointment, never a diagnosis
• Download a PDF health report to share with your doctor — free for everyone

• Mark each dose as taken or skipped, see your adherence, and get a heads-up when supplies run low

• Gentle quick-logs, an emergency info card and a flare report you can download — all free

IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ
Chronic Friends is a wellness, self-tracking and community tool for adults (18+). It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Charts, the radar and any AI-generated summaries only visualize and describe the data you enter yourself — they do not predict, diagnose or detect any disease. Always consult your doctor or a qualified health professional with any questions about your health, and never disregard professional medical advice because of something you saw in the app. In an emergency, call your local emergency services.

We don't wait for good days — we build them.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.8 — 2026-10-03

• Translate posts: tap “Translate” under a post in the Community or the Tools room to read it in your language. The translation is made on your iPhone (iOS 18 or later).
• Notifications: turn them on with one tap, right where the app tells you they are off.
• Help & feedback, in Settings: send us a question, a suggestion or a problem.
• Invite someone to Chronic Friends, right under Recent Chats.
• Journal: the flare question shows the areas of your own condition, and Muscles & Joints asks “Where does it hurt or feel stiff?”.
• Zen Music in Meditation: four long pieces to rest or fall asleep to, with a sleep timer. It keeps playing with the screen locked.
• Together: do a Meditation ritual at the same time as a friend, each on your own phone, and see that the other is there.
• Friend requests and chats always arrive as soon as you open the app, and likes count once.
• The step tournament shows each person’s photo and when their steps were last updated.
• Activity level: now High, Low or Rest.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-18

This release is about four fixes: one in the chat, one in how the app talks about your condition, and two in the evening journal.

• A message sent once now appears once. Tapping Send could leave the same message twice in the conversation — and the copies travelled, so the other person saw them too. Now one tap is one message, and a message that cannot be sent stays in the conversation instead of disappearing in silence.

• The app no longer takes your condition for granted. Where it said "14 years with Crohn's" to everyone, it now names your own — in your profile, in the daily journal, in the report you share with your doctor, and on the Medical card, which no longer fills in on its own a condition you never entered.

• The evening journal now waits for you. A screen with several questions could move on as soon as one of them was answered, and you had to go back. Now nothing moves until you tap Next.

• The journal reminder rings again at the time you chose.

Looking after yourself is easier with company. Thank you for being here.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-16

This release is about the evening journal: shorter, calmer, and finally in one tap.

• The daily check-in is now grouped screen by screen instead of one question at a time. Most people go from 26–39 screens down to 10–16.
• Five repeated questions are gone. If you carried both a condition and a tracker, you were asked about the same pain twice — now you answer once, and every chart, report and radar still gets its value.
• The three body maps (pain, skin, pelvic) each have their own screen, and "Save for today" carries yesterday's areas over in one tap. "Skip" saves nothing.
• Mood is now asked of everyone, in one place.
• Some check-in questions were English turns of phrase that did not travel. "How loud was the pain today?" read oddly once translated — those four are now plain in all 16 languages.
• The journal reminder no longer slides under the time in Spanish, Italian, German, Russian and four more languages.
• Fixed, and it mattered: a medicine that is not daily — a weekly or fortnightly biologic, a monthly injection — was showing a dose every single day. Marking that phantom dose as taken took a pen off your stock and pushed the real injection seven days later. Non-daily medicines now appear only on the day they are due.
• "Show my details on my profile" now tells you when it cannot publish, instead of failing silently.
• You can now sign up without picking a chronic condition.
• Privacy Policy updated inside the app, in all 16 languages.
• User manual brought in line with the new journal.

Looking after yourself is easier with company. Thank you for being here.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-05

This release is about people: finding each other, talking, and choosing what you show of yourself.

• Sending a friend request and writing to someone NOW WORKS. The "Add friend" and "Send message" buttons never showed up on other people's profiles; they are there now.
• Profile photos show up across the app.
• Fixed, and it mattered: some profiles showed a country, an age or years with the condition that did not belong to that person. You now only see what each person wrote on their own profile.
• New switch, "Show my details on my profile" — off by default, with a preview of exactly what others would see. You decide whether your country, your age, your years with the condition and your bio are shown.
• "Let others find me" is now saved to your account instead of your phone: change handset and your choice comes with you.
• New: "Report user" on a person's profile, right next to the block button.
• New "Your membership" screen (Settings › Membership): what the free plan includes with its real limits, what Premium adds, the four plans, and how to restore a purchase.
• If you are one of the 500 pioneers, the app reminds you to verify your email so you don't lose your free months.
• The period chips (day, week, month, year) no longer break onto two lines on small screens.
• Privacy Policy updated inside the app, in all 16 languages.
• User manual brought in line with everything above.

Looking after yourself is easier with company. Thank you for being here.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-27

Your steps, one tap away — and Apple Health no longer disconnects itself.

• The steps card on your home screen is always there now, and tapping it opens the tournament: day, week, month and year. You can see it even without Apple Health connected.
• If you are not sharing your steps yet, you will see a dash instead of a zero: the app never makes up a number that did not come from your phone.
• Fixed: closing and reopening the app disconnected Apple Health on its own, so you had to turn it back on every time.
• The bottom bar is back to its usual size on iPhone.
