Competitors charge way too much but this is either free or low cost for extra features. I love that me and my husband can sync to the same calendar so we can both add and edit bills. The only complaint I have is that I wish we could add notes like “credit card/water/etc due date unknown” or “new bill (house repairs) starting soon but date unknown” or “check to make sure these subscriptions are canceled” so that we can remember to check on those then come back later and add it or take it off ### 4/5 — Sharing *2026-06-06, version 14.9.5* Love it but can't print it or share it with anyone, a holder of a POA for example. ### 2/5 — Won't delete old bills *2026-05-18* I've tried dozens of times to delete bills I don't have anymore. Integrates well with other Apple devices. Excellent support from developer. Recommend daily use to keep current! The NOTES feature is very helpful to record important information! It is also easy to correct and update information. July4, 2024: Am still using Chronicle and rely on it. Keeps me up-to-date with our bills. Highly recommend this app for its simplicity and comprehensiveness!! ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2026-03-27* I started using Chronicle in January 2023. I loved the app and decided after a year of trialing it that I would subscribe to the Chronicle pro version. So in January 2024 I started my subscription and It worked great and tracked the balance of all my bills. Renewed my subscription again on January 2025, I could still use Chronicle, but the benefits of Chronicle pro didn’t work anymore. I was hoping it was a fluke so I resubscribed in January of this year 2026 and still can’t access the pro version benefits. I tried signing in manually to Chronicle and it says it doesn’t recognize my email. Support seems to be minimal and no way for me to contact anyone to get this fixed so even though it was a great app i I’m not going to continue paying for something that I’m not receiving. Know what I mean, Vern? ### 4/5 — Keeps my Bills Organized *2026-03-03, version 14.9.4* I really love this app and have been using it for quite some time. However, I do have one issue: occasionally, when I enter a payment amount by tapping on the numeric keypad, there is a lag. Sometimes, I have to tap a number multiple times for it to appear in the payment amount section. The difference between when the app is running smoothly and when it is lagging is very noticeable. Occasionally, restarting my phone or force closing the app helps, but today those solutions did not work. The lagging issue persisted despite trying both fixes. ### 5/5 — No Better Way To See Your Financial Picture *2026-02-17, version 14.9.3* Have been using this app for years to both manage my costs, but also forecast future bills. For credit cards you can add your interest rate for better forecasting. Either on laptop or phone, diligently input your bills and payments and have your homes financial picture at your fingertips. ### 3/5 — Nearly Perfect *2026-02-13, version 14.9.3* It's simple and effcient. It's so easy I wish there wasn't a cost associated, although it's super affordable. The only issue I consistantly have is the sync between devices. One is always outdated. It works fine on my iPhone but I purchased it for computer use. ### 5/5 — Just Perfect for Me! *2026-02-08* Many, many years ago I remember writing directly to the app developer…and I received a quick response from him. This was when Chronicle was just starting out, long before the App Store. I think I downloaded it from MacUpdate. I remember telling the developer how this was the perfect bill app and I was thrilled to pay for such an easy-to-use, yet powerful app. It was exactly what I needed and it still is! …of course, it’s even better today, something I couldn’t of dreamed of back then. If you’re looking for an easy-to-use bill-pay app, look no further! In my eyes, it’s about as good as an app could be. It does everything it claims and has an incredibly smooth interface. This app is definitely 5 stars, plus! ### 3/5 — GREEEAAT! *2026-01-26* I love this app! Few things though… 1. I do wish we could have more icons and/or use our emojis instead (to customize it even more). 2. A colour code or a coloured tag could be very helpful to keep track of the different categories of bills (tags or colours for home, credit, transportation, subscriptions etc not just separated sections). 3. A “paid” button could be very convenient too, especially for fixed and recurring payments. It could give us the options : archive, skip, log payment (for partial payments or payment not fixed) and paid! If it’s too many, we could archive only when we tap on the payment instead of having this option as a “quick action” to give priority to the “paid” button Each option could be optional to the customers in the settings. Love it, and I have no desire to change to anything else. Does exactly what I need and more! ### 3/5 — So many issues since purchasing *2026-01-05* I’d been using the app for a while, the free version and decided I wanted to track income and a few other bills that needed custom due dates and boy am I sorry I did because now every bill is off. I decided to purchase mainly for the ability to also track income and ever since I’ve done that every bills due date has been thrown off for some reason. For example I have a bill due every other Tuesday with the free version, no problem I’d log payment and the date would change to two Tuesdays later but now I have to manually go in after logging payment to change it back to Tuesday. This is also true for all my other bills. Once I log the payment I have to go manually change the next due date every time. Example my due date is the 5th every month but once I log the payment the next due date is always 2-3 days off even though I’ve changed nothing else other than logging the payment. Very disappointing because not only did I spend money but I loved the ease of the app and how great it tracked compared to other apps I tried. ### 5/5 — Couldn't Live Without This App! *2025-12-20, version 14.9.3* This is THE PERFECT app. It keeps up with EVERYthing! I’ve been a customer since 2016. My numerous attempts have resulted in same message = reset password that didn’t solve the issue and out of date app info doesn’t help either. ### 1/5 — Not worth paying for! *2025-03-17, version 14.6.0* There is no way to silence the app. When I mark a bill as complete, it ALWAYS makes a loud sound, distracting others around me, despite what my phone’s volume settings are at which for me my phone volume is always silent. I was going to me kind and give this a two-star review, but i’ll give it a one-star review don’t other short comings with the app, such as cancelling a payment reminder AND preserving payment history. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t sync with my Mac *2025-01-18, version 14.6.0* I have been using this app for a very long time and just recently it does not sync with the Desktop version unless I upgrade to the new subscription version. Now my iPad won’t sync with my iPhone. Don’t buy, get something else. ### 1/5 — Garbage app *2024-12-11, version 14.6.0* This app is not user friendly and makes no sense. There’s no tutorial. I’ve tried so many times to enter my income and the app either doesn’t save it or the date, it keeps saying my income is a bill and only shows the next month’s income not the current month. It says automatic logging of income can be turned off in settings but there’s no setting for it. There’s no instructions on the help and support page for income. There’s no way to link your accounts. I was looking forward to using the calendar feature but not worth the headache. I shouldn’t have paid for Pro before seeing how the app was. I want my money back. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — I payed now it won’t even open *2026-09-05* Not impressed the app worked just fine but I wanted to at my income so I payed for pro right off the hop it started freezing up and crashing now it won’t even load. 🤨 Update the developer returned my email and walked me through how to fix this without losing my stuff. Very nice person 😊 good response and sound advice. I’m so glad because I really like this app 👍 I recommend it. ### 5/5 — Still the best bill reminder IMO. Any news about updates to modernize the UI and add AI? *2026-07-22, version 14.9.5* Titles says it all. Still no other bill reminder app can replace it. The only thing that came close is one that doesn’t have macOS App. Can you tell us if you are working on updating Chronicle with a newer looking UI. And adding Apple AI support. Also, would be nice if it worked with YNAB. Like showing bill reminders in YNAB somehow. And marking bills paid when you enter the transaction in YNAB.
