But the app version doesn’t allow sign-in with Google which means I can’t actually use the app. If they set it so you can, I’d max the stars. I accidentally go back and then go back in, it’s all completely blank. This is especially annoying if I did a lot for the storyline and it all just gets wiped. Really irritating. ### 4/5 — awesum! *2024-08-01* i’ve been using this as an alternative to c.ai and especially janitor ai since i can’t afford it. this app is probably the best out of both of them from its various api options, character settings, and having zero filter. the free model and 300 messages a day is great too! the only issues for me is that the app is pretty slow/glitchy at times and that characters don’t register my persona whenever they try being descriptive about features. but other than that this app is pretty kweel ### 4/5 — Not bad at first impressions!😊 *2024-07-12, version 0.3.7* It’s actually a pretty good app at base, the features are free. So yea it’s really great overall ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2025-05-27* Impossible to navigate, tags don’t work, search doesn’t work, worthless ### 1/5 — Unable to "Go Back" *2025-02-28* For the record, this one star review is specifically for the iOS app, not the service itself (which is quite impressive). The mobile app appears to be just the mobile website packaged in an iOS app container, as many mobile apps are today. Normally this is fine, sometimes a little clunky, but generally functional. Unfortunately, the iOS version looks and operates exactly the same way as the Android version, which lacks any "Back" buttons to close out of most pages, return to a search page, etc. This is fine for Android, which has a system-integrated universal Back button, but it doesn't work so well in iOS. iOS *does* have a (mostly) universal "Back" navigation feature, which is to swipe inward from the left edge of your screen, but some apps aren't compatible with this feature, and Chub.ai for iOS is one of them. Until this navigation issue is patched, the app is effectively useless for any significant usage, and you should just use the mobile website in your iPhone browser instead. ### 1/5 — Its good but *2025-01-01, version 0.4.0* It randomly stopped working like i couldnt chat to them when i logged out it wouldnt let me log in or registar and kept saying failed even though i did everything right ### 1/5 — Cant log in *2024-04-25, version 0.0.1* I saw this app and was very excited but I can’t even log in, any time I try to do so I can’t, doesn’t matter if I use my username or my email. I tried to reset my password but it just tells me that my email isn’t used by anyone. However, nothing on here will load for me, even if I have full bars, and that’s very frustrating. I have a subscription and everything (because OpenAI is ridiculous) and the website works great, but I have some complaints about the app. First; the layout. It seems like you just uploaded your website into an app, so to find any bots I want to chat with, I have to open the website again, because I dislike the bot finding on the app. Second; I’m not sure if this is just a me problem but it randomly fills in my chat memory with random, and I do mean random, stuff. I have my memory all the way up to 790, and it will FILL the memory. The last one one was about a Raven and Fox in the meadow- I was talking to a Mafia bot, and neither character had anything to do with either of those things. So…I will be going back to the website for now, because I’m tired of writing 3 messages then getting a “character definition is too long” error message because it gives me some random chat memory saved. ### 2/5 — Great platform for unrestricted AI use, horrible app *2024-04-22* God, where do I start? I’m so happy that I get to talk to my bots without the restrictions and limitations of Prude Character AI. I get to use many different APIs and customize my AI to my liking. However, this app is horribly made. When you click things like info on lorebooks, it takes you to their page and you cannot tap out of it. There’s way more freedom and you can choose any kind of path to create whatever kind of story u want, as you watch it all unfold. I’d also say it’s one of the best AI chat apps out there, you can get probably as creative as u can imagine, down to fine tuning the behavior of the bot you’re chatting with in real time. You can even experience or create fully fleshed out literary RPGs. Literally, if you can imagine it, you can more than likely create it. And if you start getting the hang of more advanced methods or techniques while creating, it gets even more fun to mess around with. If u like reading, interactive novels, or creating worlds or characters through writing, hop on this app asap. It’s dope - seriously.
