## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.2 — 2026-08-11

What's New in v2.0.2

AI Music Tools That Actually Work + Stronger Security

This update brings our AI-powered music tools to life and hardens the app's security. It also includes the score player polish from v2.0.1 for anyone updating directly from v2.0.0.

What's New

AI Setlist Generation - now working.
Describe your service (theme, scripture, liturgical season) and the AI recommends a complete song lineup drawn from your team's library. You now get real AI-powered recommendations instead of placeholder results.

AI Arrangement Generation - now working.
Generate vocal and instrument arrangements for a song. The generated arrangement parts now display correctly in the app, so you can review, edit, and use them right away.

AI Audio Transcription - now reliable.
Turn an uploaded audio recording into structured song data. Uploaded files now transcribe your actual recording instead of falling back to sample output, and your usage time is tracked accurately.

What Improved

Stronger security.
Push notifications and team file seeding now verify your identity and team membership before acting, protecting your team from unauthorized activity.

More reliable song forms.
Editing a song with multiple music sheets is now stable - removing a sheet no longer risks mixing up the remaining entries.

Consistent versioning.
All app version references are now aligned at 2.0.2, so update prompts and version checks are accurate.

Nothing You Need to Do

No account, lineup, or song data was migrated for this release. Your existing scanned scores, lineups, teams, and annotations continue to work exactly as before. Update as usual and sign in normally.

Thank you for serving. We built this for you. Happy to serve you, your team, and Christ's Church!

### 2.0.1 — 2026-08-01

What's New in v2.0.1

Score Player Improvements & Reliability — A quality update that polishes the v2.0.0 scanner and playback experience based on your feedback.

What's New

Better score readability.
Note spacing now follows musical conventions — dense measures are no longer cramped and sparse measures are no longer stretched. The "MEI engraved by Verovio" watermark has been removed for a cleaner, distraction-free score view. The song title displays clearly in the player header and wraps gracefully on long names instead of being cut off.

Tempo control that works.
The tempo slider now adjusts playback speed in real time. Drag it during playback and the score re-pitches instantly from the same position — no need to stop and restart. The slider also starts at the song's actual tempo instead of a fixed 120 BPM, so you see the right speed the moment you open a score.

Smarter sheet music scanning.
Scanned scores now include a tempo direction by default, so the player can detect and display the correct BPM automatically. The OMR pipeline preserves chord markings and is ready to carry dynamics and expression markings as the recognition engine improves.

What Improved

Cleaner score rendering.
The engraving footer and the in-SVG title header are hidden. The song title lives only in the player's header bar, which wraps to two lines for long hymn and arrangement names. This eliminates the double-title and clipping issues seen in v2.0.0.

Reliable playback timing.
Tempo changes re-render the MIDI internally and resume from the exact measure you were on, so the playhead stays in sync with the audio. Tempo adjustments are debounced to keep dragging smooth on both iPhone and iPad.

Nothing You Need to Do

No account, lineup, or song data was migrated for this release. Your existing scanned scores, lineups, teams, and annotations continue to work exactly as before. Update as usual and sign in normally.

What's New in v2.0.0

Sheet Music Scanner & MusicXML Playback — A Major Update for Worship Teams

Scan. Play. Hear every note. Version 2.0.0 brings two headline features that church musicians have been asking for: Optical Music Recognition (OMR) sheet music scanning and MusicXML score playback with audio. Plus performance and stability improvements across the app.

What's New

Scan your sheet music and convert it to digital format.
Take a photo of any printed or handwritten sheet music — hymns, choir scores, piano arrangements — and our OMR engine converts it to MusicXML right inside the app. No more manual transcription. Upload a PDF or snap a photo from your camera; the app processes it in the background and notifies you when your digital score is ready.

Play back your music sheets and hear every note.
MusicXML scores now render with built-in playback. Tap play and hear the music with tempo control, section looping, and measure-by-measure navigation. Perfect for learning a new piece before rehearsal or practicing your part at home.

Sync playback live during rehearsals.
When you're leading rehearsal, your playback position broadcasts to every connected device in real time. Band members follow along measure-by-measure on their own phones or tablets. No more "where are we?" moments.

What Improved

Faster PDF rendering on iPads.
Progressive loading and viewport-aware rendering means large hymn sets and multi-page scores appear faster when swiping between pages during live performance.

Better offline reliability for low-signal venues.
Your session stays active even when the network drops. Cached profile and team data keep you signed in and working, then sync automatically when connectivity returns.

Stability fixes and memory improvements.
Defensive error handling prevents crashes during worship. Memory leaks from long rehearsal sessions are eliminated with proper resource cleanup.

### 1.9.13 — 2026-07-29

What's New in v1.9.13

Authentication Security, Offline Resilience & App Stability

This release strengthens login security with server-side rate limiting and stricter password rules, keeps you signed in even when your network drops, and improves overall app stability with better error handling, memory leak fixes, and smoother PDF sheet rendering on tablets.

What's Fixed

Your session stays active even during network instability.
User profiles and team data are now cached locally on your device using secure storage. If your connection drops mid-service or you're in a low-signal venue, the app keeps you signed in and your data accessible instead of logging you out. When connectivity returns, everything syncs automatically.

Account deletion is smoother and no longer blocked by database constraints.
Foreign key constraints on congregation sessions, network memberships, network templates, and networks have been updated with ON DELETE CASCADE and ON DELETE SET NULL so that deleting your account always completes successfully, even if related records still exist. This prevents partial deletions and ensures a clean, full account removal every time.

The forgot password screen now shows the correct support email.
If you ever need help resetting your password, the support contact shown in the forgot password screen is now accurate and up to date.

What Improved

Login is protected by server-side rate limiting.
Authentication attempts are now tracked and limited at the database level using a dedicated logging table and RPC functions. This prevents brute-force attacks on your account and protects the entire worship team from unauthorized access attempts, whether from the app or directly against the server.

Registration requires stronger passwords.
New accounts must now use passwords that meet improved length, casing, and special character requirements. This helps protect your church music lineup data and team information from weak-password compromises.

The app is more stable with defensive error handling.
Asynchronous operations throughout the app — including deep linking, haptic feedback, clipboard access, and database calls — now have proper error boundaries and catch handlers. This prevents unhandled promise rejections from causing crashes, so the app stays responsive during worship even if something unexpected happens behind the scenes.

Memory leaks are eliminated with proper resource cleanup.
Recording resources, typing timeouts, and background intervals now have proper cleanup logic when components unmount. This means the app uses less memory over long rehearsal or service sessions and stays fast and responsive throughout.

PDF sheet viewing is more stable when returning from background.
When you switch away from the app and come back while viewing a music sheet, the PDF viewer now refocuses the WebView automatically. This prevents blank or frozen sheets after multitasking on iPad or Android tablet.

Sheet rendering is faster with progressive loading on tablets.
PDF rendering now uses progressive loading and viewport-aware render windows optimized for tablet screens. Sheets appear faster when swiping between pages during live performance, and large hymn sets load more efficiently without overwhelming device memory.

Navigation is more reliable with defensive URL parsing.
Lineup and team navigation flows now parse URL parameters defensively, preventing crashes or incorrect navigation when opening shared links or deep links with unexpected formats.

Nothing You Need to Do

No account, lineup, or song data was migrated for this release. Your existing password continues to work — the new password requirements apply only to new registrations and password changes. Update as usual and sign in as normal. All existing accounts, teams, and lineups continue to work exactly as before.

Thank you for serving. We built this for you. Happy to serve you, your team, and Christ's Church!

### 1.9.11 — 2026-06-16

What's New in v1.9.11

User Registration Reliability & Account Deletion Fixes

This release fixes critical issues with user registration where new accounts could fail to appear in the database, and improves account deletion to handle edge cases more gracefully.

What's Fixed

New user registration is now bulletproof.
A database-level trigger now automatically creates your profile in public.users immediately when you sign up, even if the app experiences network issues or race conditions. Previously, some registrations could complete in authentication but fail to create the full user profile, leading to "user not found" errors. This fix ensures every successful registration always creates a complete, working account.

Account deletion is more resilient when user records are already removed.
When deleting your account, the system now gracefully handles cases where the user profile row was already deleted by another process. Instead of failing the entire deletion, it continues to remove your authentication account and associated data. This prevents partial deletions and ensures you can always fully delete your account.

Duplicate registration errors are handled automatically.
If you accidentally tap "Sign Up" multiple times or experience a slow network, the app now uses smart upsert logic to prevent duplicate key errors. It detects if your profile was already created and continues normally instead of showing an error.

Registration failures now attempt automatic recovery.
If profile creation fails for any reason, the app automatically tries to fetch the existing profile from the database before showing an error. This means you're less likely to see registration failures even in edge cases.

What Improved

User profile creation uses database triggers for guaranteed reliability.
The new auto_create_user_profile() trigger runs at the database level with elevated permissions, bypassing any Row Level Security policies that could block client-side inserts. This is a fundamental infrastructure improvement that makes registration 100% reliable.

Team creation and hymn seeding are more robust.
The handle_new_user() trigger now has better error handling and logging. It creates your default team and seeds it with hymns more reliably, with improved fallback logic for edge cases.

Nothing You Need to Do

No account, lineup, or song data was migrated for this release. Update as usual and register or sign in as normal. All existing accounts continue to work exactly as before.

Thank you for serving. We built this for you. Happy to serve you, your team, and Christ's Church!

### 1.9.10 — 2026-06-03

What's New in v1.9.10

Page Turner Settings, Annotation Visibility & Performance Focus

This release fixes the Page Turner Settings button in the fullscreen sheet viewer and adds two new controls that let musicians fine-tune their view during live performance.

What's Fixed

The Page Turner Settings button now opens reliably in fullscreen view.
Tapping the gear icon in the fullscreen sheet header now correctly opens the Page Turner Settings sheet on all devices. Previously, the settings sheet could fail to appear because it was attempting to open while the fullscreen viewer was already active.

Saved annotations can now be toggled on or off during live performance.
Musicians can show or hide existing drawing, highlight, and text annotations on a sheet without deleting them. This lets you keep a clean, uncluttered view during worship while preserving all your markings for later.

Performance controls can be hidden for a focused, distraction-free view.
The performance toolbar can now be collapsed so only the music sheet is visible on screen. Controls return with a single tap or page turner action. When the toolbar is hidden, annotation drawing mode exits automatically so the sheet stays clean.

Bluetooth LE page turner is more stable on devices without native Bluetooth support.
The Bluetooth LE transport no longer attempts to initialize when the native Bluetooth module is unavailable, preventing unexpected errors when opening a lineup on unsupported configurations.

Nothing You Need to Do

No account, lineup, or song data was changed. Update as usual and tap the gear icon in fullscreen to access Page Turner Settings.

Thank you for serving. We built this for you. Happy to serve you, your team, and Christ's Church!
