## What is Church Quest?

Church Quest is the app for anyone who wants to explore churches! It's like a scavenger hunt, just for churches!

Collect churches where you stand, using GPS – and build your own collection. See how many churches you have collected, climb the leaderboard, and discover new churches nearby. You can also create your own leagues with friends and family and compete among yourselves.

See your friends' churches and photos. Pick a friend and get the list of churches they have collected – and the photos they have shared from them. You decide for yourself whether your own churches are shared.

The app is perfect for:
– Holidays, hikes and day trips
– Family activities and outdoor life
– Culture lovers who want to discover church history
– Anyone who enjoys collecting and completing challenges
– Those who collect stave churches, historic churches or church ruins

Create a profile, get started – and see how many churches you can collect!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.8.6 — 2026-09-30

The USA is here.

Unlock 51 areas across the country – one at a time, or all of them at once. One purchase, yours for good. If you live in the USA, your home area is free.

Ranking now starts with your own area, and the area picker is split into sections instead of one long alphabetical list.

Fixed: churches outside the Nordics had the Norwegian word “kommune” added to the place name, so a church in Rome read “Roma kommune”.

### 2.8.5 — 2026-09-17

Support for Apple iOS 27

### 2.8.4 — 2026-09-16

Church Quest now speaks four languages.

The app is available in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and English. Pick your language under Settings on your profile — dates and text follow your choice.

If you live outside Scandinavia, your own home country is now free.

We've also cleaned up the help page, corrected text that didn't match the app, and fixed a few smaller issues.

### 2.8.3 — 2026-09-11

Kirkejakten Plus is here!

You can now support Kirkejakten with a monthly or yearly subscription. It gives you satellite maps, follow mode on the map, route planning, and saving your photos to your camera roll.

Also: a faster map, a tidier photo gallery, and a range of small improvements.

### 2.8.1 — 2026-09-08

Kirkejakten Plus is here!

You can now support Kirkejakten with a monthly or yearly subscription. It gives you exclusive access to the route planner, additional map types, and new insight into your own Kirkejakt.

We have also made some small fixes to GPS issues and app performance.
